Not every person in this video is an army combat medic, there are some pararescuemen and navy rescue swimmers. This is still a great video though. Good job.
@pittpens10562 Thank you, in the end all soldiers do, but medics especially. We are often seen going into harms way as others are fleeing it. The thing you can do is the next time you see a soldier, medic or not just a simple thank you will mean the world to them
@AtomicStarBurst Thanks for the info. I really want to join the Army, and do tours, while having a gun, but when I think about ending a life, I can't.
@TheCaptainAlmight131 I am a medic for the 144 Infantry and I can tell you that I understand that you don't want to kill. Just know this, a medic is not required to kill, but in order to save your friends you have to take down your enemies. Its not a glorious moment, but as a medic, your job is to protect your fellow soldier, and if you end up as a 68 Whiskey combat medic, you will most likely be up front. You can always do other medical jobs in the Army. There are alot if you choose to. :)
@TheCaptainAlmight131 As Combat Medic no but other MOS's in the medical field do not require front line support. However any MOS in the military can require combat action. For example your an X-Ray Tech working in a field hospital on a camp in Afgan or Iraq and the base is hit. The Army always trains you to be infantry first and a Medic or X-Ray Tech second because you never know when you may need to do whats necessary to ensure your, your patient, or your buddies survival.
I leave June six for Basic and Medic is my MOS it wasn't my first choice but the more I think about it I'm going to be the proudest best Medic I can be so help me God =]
@EM0PSYCH1C I lived in pain for nearly two years before having surgery, the pain was about 9 on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst. That said I wouldnt change a thing and have no regrets. I loved being a combat medic!
My son is a medic and couldn't be prouder. Thank you to my son and all the medics out there that do everything they can to ensure that our military gets the best care so far from home. God Bless You All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@medicsmomhooah Thank you and thanks to your son! I couldn't think of any care better than the care I received by other medics when I was injured in the line of duty. As a medic myself I KNEW I was in THE BEST hands and care available and would trust those guys as I did with my life and not be concerned at all.
@greg0622 Thank you, seldom do we hear those words. My military career ended in an injury that prevented me from continuing my service as a medic but even after serving nearly 18 years I still take a moment to thank every military member and veteran I encounter. Even when I was injured it was other soldiers and medics that cared for me and now I continue my service by taking care of veterans at the VA hospital. We truly do have a wonderful nation and great people, thank you!

do you have to have a year of chemistry to be able to get this MOS or does it all depend on the asvab?
ponchie411 8 months ago
@ponchie411 i just finished my whiskey training...it depends mostly on your ASVAB and MOS availability
