  • Wow! Super inspiring. I have relaxed hair almost to my waist! I am so afraid of doing the big chop because I've had long hair all my life. My hair is now damaged from color & relaxer, but that was enough to tell me.. no more permanent dye and no more relaxer! I am so tempted to relax it now but I know there is an alternative of using heat. I'm defintely going to stick with the protective styles & keeping my hair conditioned and try staying away from TOO much heat. Thanks so much for this video.

  • You are a very beautiful woman! Beautiful hair!

  • @Gurlthing88 Yeah.. I suggest you try this hair loss solution site HairLoss101. net (w/o space) that ive tried few months back.. My hair is now visibly thicker and fuller with improved shine.. My friends say that they notice also a new tiny hair on balding area. I have never been so much satisfied with any other hair loss product.. :))

  • why do people always comment on race UGH its so annoying!! Jus enjoy the hair and enjoy the experience.

  • Beautiful hair. Beautiful woman!

  • I wanted to know if texturizing would help my natural hair become curly like your hair. I want to go natural, but I want my natural hair to be wavy. I have newgrowth in my hair now and I decided to be done with perming my hair because it damaged my hair a lot. I lost the thickness to my hair & It became shorter than what it use to be like even though I am told my hair is still long.

  • @cryssiee101 Texturizing is just a "light" relaxer, basically you leave it on for half the time or so. If you really want to be natural, it might be better for you to try to accept your own personal texture just as it is, after all, God made it specially for you! Each of us has our own unique individual natural hair, and if you want to give your hair a different pattern, you can use twist-outs or braid-outs or other natural styles to do so. Just try to avoid the chemicals if you can.

  • @TellyTV8 thank you!

  • This video has given me hope!!! I have been going relaxer free for almost 2 years but I wear extensions to keep from putting excessive heat on it. I need to get my ends clipped but I REFUSE to cut all my hair off! the symmetry of my face does not go well with a short curly afro. I cut my hair once in high school but still constantly got relaxers. Had I have known then what I know now my hair would be so much healthier. Thanks for the great tips.

  • You also look North African, a lot Ethiopian.

  • This has nothing to do with your hair but I think you look like you have Asian in you? Could this be true.

  • I was looking at your pictures and I thought my goodness this woman has beautiful brown skin and then I realized that I had just seen a video from you but I didn't recognize you at first because in your straightening natural hair video your skin was so much lighter. Anyhoo, you are beautiful.

  • Hi Cormie, after seing your Vid iam going natural, i have unfortunately just relaxed my 3 inch regrowth, big mistake i know but How did you keep your hair straight during your transition????? please reply.

  • beautiful!

  • I work for Hooters too....

  • I 've been truely inspired....I'M going natural....and I know my husband doesn't want me to do the big chop and I'm hesitant as well...but after watching this video...I'm excited about just letting my perm grow out. Your hair is beautiful... &... THANK YOUR FOR INSPIRATION SISTER!!!!

  • yesssss thank you i can keep my hair on my head theres still a chance without the big chop and im gonna do it..my hair is too my shoulder my bestfriend was ready to cut an shave all my hair off today intil i found this video...lol no more relaxing no more coloring and no more weaving and we will see how good my hair results turn out :D

  • i admire you, for going natural. i also have a lot hair. But I find it difficult manage my natural hair because it is so thick. It tends to get knotted and tangled, causing me to spend a t least 1 hour combing it. So I am using a mild relaxer to help me cope.

I only relax my hair every 6 months

  • Love this video, I've also been transitioning without a perm for almost a year now, I'm not doing the big chop and my hair has grown about 4 1/2 inches so far. This is really inspiration.

    Oh and your gorgeous!

  • Thanks for this informative and inspiring video without a big chop, I too will continue on with my natural hair journey, no relaxer in about 6 months and I am loving it! What is your current hair routine?

  • wish my hair was like that..

  • omg could i pay you to show me how to eat healthy foods/write up food menus?!???? ;)

no but seriously, i'm envious of your body. i'm going to go rewatch all of your healthy food videos now. this just motivated me.

  • why do people give a f...k about her skin tone?

  • r u a model i see all these proffesional photographs

  • @iLikeMyBrownSkin winter...summer..Im very dark in the summer

  • @iLikeMyBrownSkin winter...summer..Im very dark in the winter

  • it looks like your skin changed color drastically? did you do any skin bleaching?

  • @dyschickaqt no I dont bleach my skin..my skin gets lighter in the winter months..watch my next video..I have my summer glow back:)

  • You look amazing all the time (even as a prego lady)! You obviously know what your talking about (hair and body) so I'm subscribing now! BTW, how did you get into modeling? You're stunning

  • @kisakye92 aww thank u..I got into modeling after entering an Elite Model Search of America contest that just so happened to come to a mall in my small town..bbut any one can visit any modeling agency that has an open call date..u just have to find the agency find out when they have their open call for the month and go..whether its CA or NY most agencies have at least one day a month where they see walkins..by the way welcome to my channel

  • WOW Cormie, Im just now seeing this video This is very inspiring to those transitioners who are dreading cutting their hair. See you don't have to go through the BC if you don't want to lady. Its really a matter of preference.

  • @AFRICANEXPORT I agree..people just have to decide when they are most comfortable with letting the relaxer go.. then cut it off....:)

  • no more perms for me :) & thanks because i'm a sophomore in high school & i dont wanna cut my hair

  • lol..i did the big chop and have thin hair. I love your hair and hope to have thick long hair one day...do you know how to actually thicken hair?

  • @inkwizativeqt unfortunately going natural wont thicken the natural hair strand. the density of your hair fibers will appear thicker when you are natural versus relaxed but once you have all natural hair their isny any way to gety our strands thicker. Good luck on your journey

  • THANKS A TRILLION TIMES OVER!!!!!!!!!! I am in my very first month of going natural and regardless of everyone telling me it is practically MANDATORY to do the "BIG CHOP" on the hair to rid of relaxer, I remained true to believing that you could still get great results without cutting majority of your hair off! Thanks to your video which is great proof of that I can keep my hair on my head!!!! Keep these great informative videos coming beautiful!!!!

  • @Ch0c0latEd0LL thanks doll..I appreciate your kind words..

  • Who do you model for?

  • ooohhhh sorry cz ur face, hair, skin colour and head shape looks somalian ur pretty by da way

  • oooohh sorry cz u look so somalian , ur hair, face, head shape, skin color ur pretty by the way

  • @twoTQt thanks

  • hey r u somalian

  • @beautyqueen202 no Im African American :)

  • I wonder has anybody have ever did a mayo treatment or egg that would just take the perm out then you wouldnt have to cut your hair period.

  • I can't wait fir my hair to get like that.

  • @rocklesson86 you wil get there..just stick with it :)

  • Thanks for all of the videos you put up on here they are a big help and it encourages me more to keep on growing my hair longer please keep making more videos :)

  • @MsBrownie1987 so glad to hear that..this is why I make the vids..thanks!

  • @BlaQWuhMyn thank u :)

  • Thank you so much for your video its realy an inspiration for my transitioning. You have beautiful hair.

  • Question~ did you use any kind of deep treatments on your hair? If so, what kind?

  • Thank you for this video... I needed this... =)

  • Wow.. Thank you. I was scared of doing the big chop because my face, does not look right with my current short hair, and to cut it even shorter would be heartbreaking for me. But now that I can go natural without the BC I'm soo going for it n .n Thank you so much.

  • is it okay to use spray on hair coloring when u go natural?

  • I always wondered why you would have to cut all your hair off to start over. I'm glad you showed that it is possible to grow your hair out without cutting it all off. I wear my hair natural tho but your vid was still informative. Thank u =0)

  • I am so grateful that you posted this video. I was just at the beauty salon and was told that I would need to get more than i want to cut off. I want to go natural but I don't want to lose ALL my hair. I'm like you, it's sort of a security blanket. You're hair is gorgeous, thanks much!

  • Nice hair and pictures! very pretty, Im transitioning and I do not want to do the big chop so this video gives me hope! Thanks!!! :-)

  • Awesome Vid! INFORMATIVE. Beautiful photos and WOW, no relaxer for your wedding. I have to give props to your determination and grit-^_^- Happy Holidays!

  • Thanks for sharing. Your hair looks gorgeous :)

  • I am familiar with Matt Blum. He is in Dallas. I may shoot with him in the future. Great stuff!

  • At first, I thought you were exaggerating about your relaxed her looking thin.....I thought it looked just fine UNTIL I saw your natural hair! Your natural hair is so thick and healthy looking!

  • Beautiful!

  • k, now i feel silly for asking before watching the whole vid lol

  • are you a model? i'd really like to know, you are pretty

  • How often did you trim your hair during your transition?

  • 4:06 is fiyah!!!

  • Cormie you are such an inspiration!! I decided to not continue with relaxing my hair (last one was in May) without doing the big chop as some of my friends have. You are absolutely gorgeous and I love seeing your journey, as it really helps solidify my confidence in my own journey. My hair before relaxing (when I was about 12) was about bra strap length, and that is my goal. Thank you so much for the videos, they actually made my day :)

  • Your photos are beautiful!!!! I have a bday coming up and I wanted to take some sexy but classy photos but having some trouble finding good photographers who don't crip me out lol. I've been transitioning for 17 months and I'm starting to feel its time for me to bc. I not completely sure if I'm goingi to do it just yet but this video was inspiring. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and photos.

  • Love it such an inspiration be blessed

  • @cortrell99

thanks ..thats why Im here...by the way welcome to my channel and thanks for subscribing

  • omg thank u sooo much for this video!! im so torn on whether to get a relaxer or just sticking to transitioning. i have been stretching for 10 weeks and im so discouraged b/c of the 2 textures, but im gonna cancel my relaxer appt for tomorrow. this was great inspiration b/c i really dont want to lose my length (obsessive i know!) and i want to have healthy natural hair. i also think my hair is very similar to yours. thanx again!! :)

  • @498710284

.please spread the word to other women that may be at the same cross road as well..length for some reason was important to me when transitioning to being natural as I think it is for other women because it is sort of a securtiy blanket and we feel less attractive without it at times...for me n e way that was my dilemma... glad I could help ..thanks for watching

  • @083770 thank u ..so sweet..I love YT for that too..thats why I was insprired to start making vids here

  • My thats a nice camera they used

  • Girl you are gorgeous ! I couldn't tell before your video's are kind of dark. I did the big chop because of circumstances that got out of control. But I have two daughters that I'm going natural with. One is 9 yrs she's no problem she loves that I can french braid her hair and no more relaxer's. My 14yr old is a little difficult. I plan on showing your video to keep her on the natural side.

  • @sharebare28

awww.thank u..I understatnd the struggle with the teen..I have a tween and image is starting to be everything and she wants a relaxer too..definately show her the vids..I think the more they are exposed to other option they are more likely to stick with it..thanks again...

  • i really admire how you decided to go natural. i began to go natural for a while but pressure from family made me have to get it processed. i went from april to july and i had a good four inches of new growth.i would wear my hair braided atnight so when i took it out in the morning the processed parts would some what match the texure of the growth. my aunt who is a former hairdresser started to noticeand said that my hair would never be healthy like that but it was. i want to go back now.help!

  • @VnB93

You can transition your hair without cutting it all off..but pay attention to how your hair is reacting to having 2 different textures.Even though you dont have to cut it all off at once the ends need to be constantly trimmed to keep the ends from splitting up the shaft into your healthy natural hair. I had my ends trimmed once every 6 weeks religiously..That is very important when you are transitioning..hope that helps a little I will do a future vid soon on transitioning tips

  • @alodia80

    No problem thanks for watching!

  • You are beautiful!

  • @dee281109

    thank u..:)

  • You are so pretty.

  • the back of my hair breaks off from putting in buns :(

  • I really enjoyed your video people have been telling me I NEEDED to do the big chop to be natrual...I refused to do the big chop because my hair was already "long" ...So I've just been wearing sew ins for the last year and a half to grow it out and every time i take it down i cut about 2 inches so Im really not losing any length...I have a sew in now and when I take it out and cut another 2 inches I will be totally natural!!!

  • so u grew your hair out without the bc ...like u clipp it every month ?? i need advice im trying to grow out my perm ends but idk if it will wrk n im 16 trying to go bck natural

  • I love your hair, what products, moisturizer etc are you using?

  • @mygodisable2

watch my other vids my routine recently changed about a month ago and I love it

  • The difference in thickness (relaxed vs. natural) is AMAZING!! Thank you so much for showing that you do not have to do a BC to go natural!!

  • wow your hairs is gorgeous how often do you straighten your hair...actually it would be awesome if you maybe considered making a video talking about the process you go through to straighten your hair and what kind of products you use.

  • girl you can take some pictures you look good

  • @blackinLondon

thank you for watching...styling natural hair when transitioning your hair can be challenging but there are alot of gret vids on you tube so you are in the right place....good luck on your hair journey

  • THANK GOD A NATURAL TRANSITIONING VIDEO WITHOUT A BIG CHOP. its hard to find these on youtube....forgive me lol

  • @imsatindoll You ain't neva lied about that one. . .lol Are you transitioning? I'm about 12 weeks post and just decided to transition w/o a bc.

  • @MsChanteJ72 girl yes! I have been transitioning since March

  • I dont really have a routine..Im a mom and I work so I do whats easy..I cowash my hair twice a week when I wear it naturally curly and then I finger comb, add a little olive oil and non alchohal gel..scrunch and go!

  • thanks..glad I could help...thanks for watching!

  • your hair is soo pretty and your photos are pretty too. Thanks for sharing and am looking forward for my journey with your advice. And you're right its good just to let the hair grow on its own.

  • What kind of routine did you do in order to take care of your hair?

  • Aww thanks but believe me the pics dont show the full extent of the damage..it was very brittle...

  • Even your raggedy ends looked lovely to me.

  • you are officially my inspiration when or if i decide to go natural. I always said I would consider it but only if I could do it without the Big Chop because I refuse to cut my hair. But how did you maintain the two textures? I would love to know this. Please inbox me when you have a chance. Love you for this video beautiful.

  • beautiful!

  • This is awesome! I am planning on doing the same thing.

  • Your hair looks FAB!

I had to do the BC because I couldn't deal with the two textures. But you did a great transition. Your hair looks so healthy and full. I can't wait to reach your length. =)

  • Thanks for sharing Cormie. You have a beautiful head of hair.
