  • One of the greatest songs ever written.

  • i am not one to out argue anyone else over religion but i do appreciate your effort to keep me " on point " . i do think it best to share that which is pure , lovely , honest and true and i find Jesus to be the best example of all .......

  • nomanfu69 I think you are missing the point..there are different references in many of their songs about spirituality..it's up to each individual to find goodness in his/her heart and one can be spiritual, peace loving and kind to others without having the same beliefs. The gist is that we have the responsibility to do what's right to create a better world..here and now.....dissecting this beautiful song and making it an argument about religion is completely missing the message in my opinion.

  • @Bon2591 Thank you for posting something so pure......

  • I'm just a pup in a rock and roll band.

  • all good things in all due time

  • MB ..good memories. Heart swells.

  • The Moody Blues are my top band

  • THIS SHIT MAKES ME WANNA TRIP(WHICH I HAVEN'T DONE IN 30 YEARS) ANYONE OUT THERE GOT ANY?

  • @lorriutopia DO A FEW LINES OR CRACK..THATS SAFER AND MORE ENJOYABLE...HA....

  • @lorriutopia Find some shrooms..

  • justin and john are Christians. what a beautiful song, both melody and lyrics.class.

  • Without a doubt the greatest band since time began.

  • The best band ever !!!

  • Folks....I know Justin, and he's extremely humble, loving, and hard working. Not only does he have a wondrous attitude about life and people, but he's also an amazing soul. He writes this music for you...to awaken you and help you find your way into...here it is... the Age of Love. That's what he would want me to tell you. Love To All.

  • I seem to recall that this album was voted voted in a Playboy Poll (remember those?) as the #1 album of the year in 1973.

  • I must be one of the most blessed people in this comment section. I purchased the album shortly after it came out cuz I loved the song Isn't Love Strange. I was 16 and the Moodies music was perfect for that time of life. When I heard You and Me, it became my favorite. Unfortunate that Singer In a Rock and Roll Band was the big single release. It's the worst song on the album and really not too bad.

  • I am convinced that Justin is probably the most underrated guitarist on the music scene

  • Discovering the Moodys are brothers gives me great joy

  • Super Loving Son : ) Loving, loving, loving. Patiently, kindly, gently, forgiving, purely...love never fails for the Bible tells me so... : )

  • @27Jesusgirl Who is this " King of Glory " asked the angels before opening the heavenly gates to Jesus et al as He returned from His mission on earth . such humor among the Heavenlies is sprinkled lightly into the most serious and ongoing controversy between Christ and satan. i just want to commend you on your comment and moniker and wave my hand to a fellow believer and thanks for the ' lifting up ' . JESUS is LORD

  • @nomanfu69 : )

  • thank you multithinking..... how approriate. and soon dawning is the day.... when our creator will be as live as life!

  • la vida es linda

  • to the person that sent this to me....ty....

  • and we didnt even know how bad it would get hmmmm

  • amazes this song was written so long ago in my younger days I love it listen people

  • Beautiful song and video it touches my soul, how fantastic, thanks Justin Hayward and the rest of The Moody Blues!

  • No, we cannot fail. There is nothing to pass or fail. We simply are. Beings. Amazing beings. There will only be a burning wound if it is self inflicted. We do seem capable of doing that to ourselves though, don't we. Amazing grace for amazing beings. Happy 2012, make it the best so far.

  • Can you unknow what you have known? can you forget what oxygen tastes like when you have been deprived if you have lived in the dark can you deny the glory of sunlight?

  • I so miss intellect in music...

  • WHOEVER DID THIS, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU....BEAUTIFUL!

  • Happy Holiday,Happy 2012!

    PAUL A. KREBS

  • these guys are gods... just found this song on my seventh sojourn. I live the moodies

  • I have not heard this in years. Great song. Sounds so good today.

  • Good stuff.

  • When you have a Mellotron, you don't need no stinkin' orchestra.

  • What a great video to a really good song thanx bunchs ....good job as well....lets see more of this fine works ........

    Sam

  • I have to say that if you don't have a good set of headphones, you should consider it. Unless you have a great speaker system on your computer, which most of us don't, you would be shocked by how much of the music you aren't hearing and the quality of it. I am not rich by any stretch of the imagination, and it took me about 3 months to justify the cost and buy them without guilt, but I bought a pair of "Bose" (about $150) and it is like night and day. Buy any brand. Just get a quality set.

  • @Msdistarr So true. I am listening to this with an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card (set at 24-Bit, 44100 Hz) through a set of Shure SRH440 headphones. It's a lot more detailed than my Logitech speakers, but it's still limited by the relatively low audio bitrate of Youtube, whatever that might be. The difference really appears when listening to a genuinely high bitrate recording.

  • What a great video, too go along with this wonderful song. Thank-you for this post.

  • Thumbs up Moody Blues. "All we are trying to say is all we've got". Right on. With the "world burning in it's greed" -- it's now catching up to us by showing us HOW connected we are to one another. You can thank the Harv Eker's of the world teaching CEO's the billionaire blueprint -- at all costs. Scrap that notion. Love To All...No Matter What.

  • ..."world burning in it's greed" is now catching up to us by showing us just how connected we are to one another. Thumbs up Moody Blues. "All we are trying to say is we've got"..., most profound. Love To You All.

  • coloradream, thanks for doing video justice to such a beautiful song!

  • 'we look around in wonder at the work that has been done, by the visions of our Father, touched by His loving Son' = Our Father in Heaven =YHVH, & His loving Son =Yeshua

God & Christ? I think so!!!

  • Perhaps some of the best words ever put to music.

  • Oh yeah...that one brings back so much excitement from young teenaged days. I earned my 4th degree black belt working out to Moody Blues tunes...day and night...night and day...week after week...25 years later! You guys rock -- Brinkmeyer Archangel.

  • Best case of involuntary devotion to the creator.Much like the Cosmos wherein the Glory of God is manifest in the beauty of his creation. If we only knew the infinite source of this music

  • @MrNewkingjames Music is the language of the angels.

  • @MrNewkingjames a- how could it be involuntary and- b-ponder this WHAT WOULD THERE BE IF THERE WAS NOTHING whatever you come up with or devise in your mind is something -

  • @MrNewkingjames

This song is inspired from above. One cannot argue about that fact.

  • @MrNewkingjames The lyrics are very voluntary, Justin loves God as well as John Lodge.

  • @MrNewkingjames Your comments are extremely degrading, and shows your lack of understanding.

God gave man the gift of freewill, and here you go saying that it is 'involuntary'....

  • @wifiwaves If 'God' exists, then why would he allow Katrina, and all the destruction there, particularly in a part of the world where the bible is so revered? Or the Florida hurricanes, and the BP oil spill, and all the tornados. All in the Southeast part of the U.S., the bible belt. People invented God to make it easier to explain everything, and feel at ease. Then those same people use that belief to try and bully others. Insane.

  • @london2z God is very real and He did send His Son ( Jesus ) to help us to get the real story .... what is happening all around us in the invisible world . The great controversy between Christ and Satan. Read the Bible and eventually your spiritual self will awaken and then a miraculous change will come about and you will see....... don't miss out .

  • @nomanfu69 I studied the Old Testament in Sunday School when I was attending the Unitarian Church in my teens, and it just seemed like a bunch of far-fetched, psycho- babble to me. Show me unequivocal proof of God, and maybe I'll believe it.

  • Beautiful. Thank you. And very appropriate for today,("The world is burning in it's greed").

  • @multithinking222 Great song! Probably my favorite of Moody Blues. Can anyone tell me about the awesome photography in this video? I'm guessing some of it was shot in Colorado, or at least The Rockies.

  • glinner2158 you must be the biggest asshole I ever heard. What the fuck do you have for brains.. The best part of you ran down your mothers crack and was a white stain on the mattress at the hotel 6 you where concieved..

  • When I think how long this LP sat unplayed in my collection, until I heard this tune on the radio,it makes me wanna slap myself.

  • i love this song...i just lost my mum at ae 80...she left us like a butterfly...i woke upin the morning dreaming she was in the water at the beach...happy like a little kid!

  • @robertahartley1 So sorry for your loss, robertahartley1. Perhaps your dream is a vision that your mom is totally at peace. May that thought bring you comfort as the days go by.

  • @bluegin24 thank you...she was my best friend and guardian angel as I was hers...she loved the moody blues music it soothed her soul...

  • @robertahartley1 my sentiments. God bless.

  • I have enjoyed this band since they began and I think they will always be my favorite. Better than the Beatles and all the rest. Thanks for the great vid.

  • @TheFugdabug- i hear 'em bug, i hear 'em.

  • superb!

  • still after all the years... as good as it was when I first heard it way back there!...

"There's a leafless tree in Asia, under the sun is a homeless man ... there's a forest fire in the Garden where it all began...!" wake up folks ... listen to the words.

  • Moodie Blues...daaaaaa,un remeber minunat !

  • One of their best underplayed songs. Would love to hear it concert.

  • okay everyone lets sing along......all we are trying to say is we are all we got

what will it take to get the HOF to get THE MOODY BLUES through the door?

  • okay everyone lets sing along......all we are trying to say is we are all we got

  • This ranks tops in my book.

  • I worshiped these guys with beauty expressed. Loved this album when I was in college. Thanks for letten us hear it.

  • Nice video!

  • The Moodys are great for any occasion, but I particularly like their music while star gazing.

  • The Moody Blues!!!

    ジャスティン・ヘイワードの類い稀なる作曲能力と麗しい美声!!

    upされた御方に感謝します。

    Wonderfull!!!!!♪

  • @ Author- Agreed!!!!!!!!!

  • Nope, I refuse to flush you even if you're being a hater.

  • The Moody Blues are 50 clicks up the rock/music evolutionary scale above everyone else! The non talent garbage of today's music doesn't even compare to the beauty and talent of the Moody Blues. I could go on and on but most people know what I am talking about.

  • The moodys do such great and inspirational stuff. Their stuff has been part of my creative process for decades now and I have always loved doing covers of their songs when I am in bands. Some songs still touch a really strong chord with me.

In a lot of ways they helped inspire my work with Globally Attainable Abundance and Sustainability Plan too. (We're on facebook) I'd love to have them play one of our benefit concerts some time too. They ROCK the best.

  • @dirkstorm Moody Blues playing in Art Park, Lewiston, NY in 2012 AD?

  • these pictures remind me of Oregon - so beautiful : ) and seventh sojourn being played often in our home growing up! Love it, good memories.

  • freaking love this song...Moodys get me goin...

  • oh yeah this is a great song.

  • this and 'lovely to see you' are my favs from these guys. thier red rocks show will always be epic. thanks for posting this. god listen that voice!!!!! melt me.

  • "...By the vision of our Father, touched by his loving Son." What a great song and who writes lyrics like that anymore? Long live the Moodies!

  • The absolute perfect song

  • I still think this is one of their best Lps I have always been a big Moody fan but I have a cofession.I joined the Col record ant tape club and this lp got sent to me because I didnt answer the monthly choice in time and I have to say I dont regret it a bit

  • heavenly

  • 10 people like rap music.

  • @zunk11 One could like some rap AND this. There's good and bad of every genre, and some GREAT stuff like this that is ITS OWN genre.

But regardless, 958 out of 968 (as of this post) ain't bad....

  • @ballhawk387 one could like a turd also.

  • @zunk11 That would be you,...time to flush the toilet!

  • You and me just cannot fail if we never ever ever stop!

  • I crank this song up and it brings back such good memories. One of the very best.

  • Jesus is the one I had to run to, as much as l love you. He loves you more. Ask him to show you truth and come into your heart.

  • @sunflower7431 - So Jesus wouldn't approve of these men singing like this? I feel that songs containing lyrics such as these encourage thoughts of Jesus and are actually GUIDING US TOWARDS HIM, don't you? " we look around in wonder at the work that has been done by the VISIONS OF OUR FATHER TOUCHED BY HIS LOVING SON". Why must you make a statement that indicates a separation from what these gentleman are singing about Him? This perplexes me!

  • @Wambligleshga Your alright!

If something like this can't get you closer to God, what can?

  • @Wambligleshga ; )

  • @sunflower7431 .....guess you 'touched a nerve' for me to have reacted with my previously chosen words, but my best excuse/forgiveness(?) for saying so was because I was 'feeding' from a previous comment from someone "related" to the realm of which you occupy, if you will. Sorry for the pounce.

  • Nice percussion on this track.

  • Just amazing how many GREAT songs this band has done. In a class with only a select few artists/groups I can think of.

  • Im a "young" fan. I got Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Doors and more from my father. Born 1965, and I think my dad must have use it as food, because I love this kind of music :P

  • @DJWeyhe - Well, dude, you're starting in the right place. Add Dylan, The Beatles, The Stones, and so on... and you're on the right track. Kudos to your dad.

  • @DJWeyhe The Moody Blues music "as food?" I love it! :)

  • Jann Wenner should drop dead.

  • @glimmer2158 Sod "politically correct" critics who are more interested in "street cred" than musical quality.

Aside from being one of the most obvious HOF snubs, the Moodies are the greatest example that comes to mind of the people being right and the critics being wrong.

  • I had the distinct pleasure of seeing The Moody Blues live in concert in the 70's. I will never forget it as long as I live. You could hear a pin drop as everyone was just entranced listening to these musical geniuses. Great video...thanks for posted this.

  • Favorite LP since the year it came out, too many tears, too many smiles, awesome voices, awesome instumental creations, such passion!

  • 2nd only to the Beatles. their music live live as long as any created

  • I love this song. Mike's melletron blends in so well with Justin's guitar and John's bass. What a great album as well. There isn't a weak song on this album. Thank-you for this post my friend. These tunes bring back so many great memories.

  • My first album I had for TMB and played to it wore out in the late 70's. Lots of memories of this album during trying times of my parents divorce and the subsequent lonely times. All we are trying to day is....

  • As far as the RnR HOF is concerned The Moody Blues are in the same situation as Rush - popular world-class bands with a huge body of work going back decades, that Jann Wenner can't stand. It's all politics.

  • The RRHF means nothing..O..or I mean less than O/subzero..asolute zero --273.15degree C. People mistakenly tend to lend credibility, worthiness, talent to a band based on whether or not theve been "inducted" into it. Come on anybody with ears has long ago given up that joke of an organization as any real authority on music. Neil Diamond was put up for induction in 1989 and just got in????

  • Comment removed

  • mmmm - just listen to that big juicy gibson 335...sounds so good!

  • the moody blues are great artists their first seven albums are pure masterpieces

  • I don't understand the RRHOF what is there problem when when they can introduce the very weakest of bands and totally over look giants like the Moody Blues - the most awsome band coming from the 60's right through now - shame on them --- my other favourite band made in just last year but had been on the waiting list for nearly 20 years a British invasion band The Hollies -- the poor guys were ageing by this time.

  • I couldn't agree more with all those saying the album is a true classic! And I am still so sad they have not been inducted in the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame...Seems the friend who said they should need to step down is right....unfortunately...But still it is so unfair for the Moodies not to be awarded this honour for their contribution to the worlds music.

  • This entire album, and every single song, are timeless classics, never to be forgotten in the minds and souls of those who have heard and understood. If I played this song once, I played it a thousand times. This song, and the entire album, is just as good the 1st time as it is today. This group clearly does not get the recognition it deserves.

  • ...certainly a completely different level of music. It's SAD that there IS no music or musicians these days. Urban poets and ghetto trash. Humanity takes a giant step BACKWARDS. We should have taken over while we had the chance.

  • great

  • Also awesome, thanks.

  • One of my fave MB songs...never seen them do it live though, I would love it. As far as I know, there aren't any DVD versions of this either! Great video, thanks so much for posting. Love these guys forever!

  • "God manifests His will in the flowers, in the light of dawn, in the spring; and love is of His ordaining." - Victor Hugo (The Toilers of the Sea)

  • All we are trying to say, so many conversations, words mean nothing, but it's all in our comments, in the music... that was magic!

  • One of their bes.t Takes me back to my first real love. Have seen them 7 times but never when they performed this. Oh well they were still great each time.

  • One of there best songs. Takes me back to my first real love. Have seen them 7 times but never when they performed this. Oh well they were still great each time.

  • After decades of not seeing their concerts (I saw two of their debue concerts when I was in high school) I finally saw them live again. You & Me sounded awesome.

  • Up to this album, the amalgam of great voices, lyrics, mellotron and amazing electric guitar work set them apart from everyone one else. After this album, they never recovered that magic formula, but left this great legacy of work that really timeless 'rock and roll'. Godspeed, Moodies.

  • Why the hell do I see Taylor Swift over in the suggestions?

  • if one were to listen to the brilliance begun at 3:00 min. of song !!! enough said

  • Agree, one of my fave MB. Beautiful stills you selected for this edit, thanks, moving - cdh

  • beautiful song. I'll never forget when my parents bought the 7th sojourn record when i was a little kid. They played it constantly. This song was their personal fave, so it always has a special meaning to me. This guitar is very moving, especially the last minute or so. One of the best songs ever recorded, by one of the best groups in music history.

  • Boy, I smoked a lot of hash and tripped like crazy to this and other Moodies songs back in the day!

  • It's only been 40 years plus that they have been the background music to my life, why in the world should I think that they are far better than most of those in the alleged Hall of Fame? However they will be played and have meaning in people's lives for far after these so-called "Hall of Fame" members are dust...

  • 3:05 one of the most simple and yet elegant licks of all time.

  • All we are trying to say Is we are all we've got You and me just cannot fail If we never, never stop All we are trying to say Is we are all we've got You and me just cannot fail If we never, never stop You and me just cannot fail If we never, ever, never, ever stop Forever on and on...right on Moodies...
  • rock and roll hall of numbnuts.

  • When the Moody Blues started playing there music they were way ahead of there time, and they will always be, in my book.

  • the album is a masterpiece, stands by itself...

  • Wow I thought if any band would be in the RRHF they would have been one of the first. I have been listening to them since early on and they are the best..this classic beats anything on current radio today!

  • I dig the Moody Blues

  • magnificent album ......... every song is utterly amazing ...... never tire of it.

  • The Moodies ARE the rock and roll hall of fame.

  • only the beatles stand on a higher level than the moodies.

  • @rtrower0101 In what aspect? Sales, yes. Consistent uplift of the human spirit, no. innovation, tie. Affect on society...yes. Love songs? Never. Moodies and subgroups of the members have the Beatles knocked flat.

But yeah, the Beatles sold more records and made advances ...but I guess I just dont like Lennon and his

Communism/Marxism..."Imagine"- the athiest anthem. Guess I am a little prejudiced Pro God...Pro Moodies.

    Tom Loughlin Jr, Utica NY

  • @telsport your comment on the Moodies is totally real, 'Imagine' is like the communist manifesto in musical form! Guess i'm alot biased because the Moodies connects with a deeper place than the brilliant Beatles.

Pro Moodies forever. still dig the beatles, but when it's time to transcend, bring on the mellotron and the greates Moodies melodies. ps the moodies and the beatles were freinds.

  • I'm 14, and ever since I was born, my Mom has shown me nothing but 1960's-1970's music. I am very lucky to be introduced to such music at such a young age. This music has changed the way I am. As I try to think of one GOOD band from the modern era that interests me, I can only think of 1 band. Maroon 5. And as I try to think of 1 BAD band from the '60's and 70's, I can't think of one. I have no favorite band, I love every band from that time period.

  • I think this album is their best, before they reformed in the 80's after their hiatus. It may still be their best ever. The band changed after Mike Pinder left, no question. They were still great after that, just different.

  • The Moody Blues were in a class by themselves. Their music was so far ahead of the times. Screw the Rock and Roll hall of fame. More like the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame, a shame that these brilliant musicians are not in there. Well.........there in my Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Right at the top. Love these guys. Always have. Always will. For crying out loud, my son talks about the Moodies, how good they are, too his friends and HE'S ONLY 20!!!!!!

  • Love the lyrics/string section/and harmony!!

  • No Matter What , We try to better this, Will Always out last Thank you, MB

  • From one of the top ten best albums ever. (My humble opinion)
