I'm the owner of the veranda.

Athearn sells a gas turbine right now and and veranda will be available in few month.

No sound, but it is easy to have sound: Look at QSI on the webb, they have the solution.

Hey Cowbell, if you want to purchase a UP Veranda; I suggest waiting a few months. MTH is producing their version of this locomotive for 2010. Unlike Athearn's, this one comes with both sound and syncronized smoke...all for a mere price of $499.95

I think i hear the turbine sound slightly.....I want to buy one of these...Athearns has these coming out on the market, but they sell it with no sound..and thats sooo STUPID!!! So I want one with the turbine sound.. lookin, lookin, lookin

Hi, I'm the owner of the turbine.

It is a Lionel, very hard to find and now very expensive. The sound is good, It's a shame Athearn did not make the Big Blow without sound, but I hope they will do soon. Wait or come to visit us!!!

This is the Lionel UP64 model, pulled out of the market because of a law suit from Phoenix Snd (been told that). Only a very few model hit the streets. One of the club member grabbed hold of one. What you hear is the sound generated by the sound system in the machine. That's why I didn't put background music all along the clip. On other of LBTA's videos, here on YouTube, the background noise is so disgraceful (expo rooms chatter) that I prefer to hide it with a background music.
