@labizkit78 Yeah, it is sad, but he didn't make it easy for himself. I think that he was still in love with Olivia in the end, at least to some degree. I remember when he went to see her after her heart transplant (05-06-08) and he's says to her "You remember when we thought we could rule the world? You know i still want that." Olivia asks him why, and he just squeezes her arm and says goodbye.
Poor Alan...it's too bad that he couldn't find someone who he truly loved AND that truly loved him in the end...
