how in the world do you get so much distance? i skim on the east coast and run/enter pretty fast, but can't keep it steady. maybe i'm just on the wrong beaches

@GreenI3eret too get distance like that all you have to do is make sure you run hard and jump on the board at the point that the water is the shallowest you will build up speed and ride out far into the wave or you can try doing it deeper into the water. hope that helps.

@GreenI3eret some tips are first, learn how to one step also know as dropping your board and geting on right away. whens the waters choppy you usually should pump. when the waters calm you should 50-50 which means riding your board horizontally but straight( 2:47 ) it also depends on the thickness of your board. 3/4 makes you go farther while 5/8 is ok. i have 5/8 and it still works if you do all this

@GreenI3eret key to distance is one step drop, speed, smoothness of conditions of water, and catching those sideways breakers helps too :)

@GreenI3eret you probably need a larger skimboard. if you are still using a skinny wooden or plastic one then they will sink once you get into a few inches deep of water. go on skim sites and find a zap or exile board within your weight range.
