Hey everyone! If you have some free time on your hands and you love bands like Lamb of God, Pantera, Meshuggah, then PLEASE give this metal band from Argentina a listen and check out the single of their upcoming EP with this link. Just replace the end of the url with this /watch?v=yeMXs1zLMf4 They would really apreciate it.
@XDeparturehymnX dead serious, I thought of writing music in the genre "Meshuggah-core", named for that polyrhythmic effect they oh-so-boldly accentuate.
@pychoslayer I'm a huge metal fan, it's what I listen to the most. But I also love techno and electronica music. There's nothing gay about it or wrong with it. You watch a Blade movie and tell me you don't like the music they have in the background of those fight scenes.
@hidaninmortal1 IMO prog trash metal. but if you ask somewhere else they shift very much in all the metal genres. i think they are beyond the usual classification of metal.
1:39 when the voice fades, and you can hear the first few note of the main riff, that's just sounds so "empty", perfectly represents the obzen atmosphere. for me, at least :)
I know its about groove and all that, but is the guitar playing the first note in upbeat then the first hihat being the downbeat(then playing ordinary thrash beat)? or the guitar's first note being downbeat then HH being upbeat?
@coldworldmelancholy actually it's neither on the upbeat or down beat.....i'm not great with music theory, but i think what it is is just an eight note shift from the down beat.....if you learn polyrhythms you will be able to sense the "in between" notes....but there is more complicated music like animals as leaders and chimp spanner! keep tempo to this for a mind fuck /watch?v=Ep3ibZp42Rc it stays in ONE tempo, also this will help /watch?v=Zn7YtjO6Mqc and learning subdivisions!
@aj45123 well if you're thinking of it like that then i'm sure you know how to count in sixteenth's....1e&a2e&a.....well that first hi-hat is on an e so that would make it neither a down beat nor an upbeat.....i just feel the music, i don't need to know anything other than counting quarter notes....it doesn't matter what time signature it's in, i just feel it.....many famous bands do this, soundgarden has admitted to not knowing nor caring what the "signature" is, to them it's just feeling!
dam i never new mesug was this good. i always hear people comparing other bands to them so i assumed that they were an old stlye of metal. but this is some heavy as shit. makes me wanna eat metal at a junk yard
@Hifcrea LoL. Meshuggah have been around for 20 years bro, but when people compare bands to em they're almost always comparing them to stuff Meshuggah was doing 10 years ago, Meshuggah is a different breed of band though, it's like they're aging in reverse, their music gets fiercer and more technical the older they get, it's like if Metallica made St Anger FIRST, and then came out with Master of Puppets 20 years later.
@MutantClannfear "Meshuggah taking Air Math Metal to new limits! Check out this awesome high-end clip, which was featured on the RARE TRAX-CD!" NuclearBlastEurope. MESHUGGAH - New Millenium Cyanide Christ video. Well It seems there is a genre called Math Metal haha.
@ELEMENTALW1 Record labels aren't reliable sources for what genre their signed bands play, as most of them have no fucking idea what genres of metal there are other than "death metal" and "metal".
@MutantClannfear dont you people realise you are being dictated to by journalists ? there is any genre you want to think of dumbasses. just make one up! mathcunt. algebrarock, whatever.
mesuggah bass riffs in general are beyond orgasmic... there just in their own new realm of amazing. props to everything mesuggah esp Dick Lövgren. without you mesuggah couldnt be mesuggah.
@fullmetalmc fucking funny, i love all the comments on meshuggah, they get so much love and I can see why, these guys are so fucking amazing, the best riffs hands down
Isurus, an original and progressive rock band based in South London, are looking for a vocalist. We have a professionally equipped studio, currently are a guitarist, bassist, and drummer and are looking for a likeminded singer to complete our lineup. Someone versatile with a great voice . Think Maynard James Keenan, Mike Patton, James Labrie, etc.
@venusasaboy i disagree i think some pulling and pushing has gone on, at least in some of their tracks, ive further investigated since i posted that. they are however, mentally tight i agree.
Imagine....32 monkeys with knives attacking you and trying to kill you while you defend yourself with a 32 oz 16 penny nail-enhanced baseball bat. Could you do it?
@TenTonHorse This is one of the greatest comments known to me. Your insight is beyond belief. Ten Ton Horse, may God continue to bless your superb mind.
whenever i listen to this album i always play through this movie idea i have in my head :| haha ALWAYS no matter what song i'm listening to it just plays out in my head, its kinda like a futuristic-apocalypse styled thing, kinda like brazil/dark city/matrix/star wars type thing I wish i could draw or animate and make it myself it would be SWEEEEEET haha
@ThommyTerneborn no theres no electronic instrument in Meshuggah a more accurate term is technical extreme metal (at least thats what the Metal Archives labels it)
