  • i used to be REALLY flexible when ever i did the splits my whole leg was on the floor and like 100% straight but now ive lost it!

    Now I can get my right and left split, just not my straddle. :p

    I just did lunges and what not, but forcing myself down more each time and going through the pain is what got me to it.

    But anyone got any tips on how to get my straddle split?

  • I can do a right split but at my school we call that starting position '' box'' position

  • Gurly159 idk if this will help but try putting Ur legs straight out then cross say it right leg over your left. Ur left leg is straight out and Ur right heel is almost touching Ur thigh. Then almost hug Ur right leg with Ur left arm to your chest. Then do the same with the other leg. Hope this helps!

  • my muscles balled up, its sorta like from my butt bone to the middle of my thigh?? umm... yea its about there..... and idk how to strech it out... it been hurting for about 3 weeks and it hurts alot wen i tumble.... can anyone give me some tips on how to stretch it???

  • @gurly159 yer first leason ,your injured .when injured you dont train unitl you recover and that includes repairing damaged tissue`s

    second leason knwo your body knwo your problem

    your porblem with twsited musscle`s possibly

    that is physological.each body diffrent ,you need ot elarn where it twist ,probabally silent old injury that you never knew you had

    thirdly see a doctor or physio .

    fourh leason use your brain it helps

  • Yay, I can do it now! It's just a piece of cake. I do it everyday. LOL. But I still can't do the side split. I've to do the front split and change my angel to make side split.

  • @13teegan try going into your left split then, and bounce up and down, it can hurt your leg pretty bad, but in the end that's how i learned to do my splits:)

  • hey this is really weird, but ever since i was 2 or 1, i could do my middle splits ALL the way down. anyway, i perfected my left splits,but this is not helping me with my right :(

  • because you're stretching your muscles? people like that girl in the video have probably been doing this since a very young age (say 4-7 yrs old) and she has got very flexible over time. trust me if you do it every day then it will still hurt a bit but thats the muscles stretching and you will get easier with time.

  • i am so close to doing a right split but it hurts too much i can do:round off,cart wheel, handstand and [ ] <--- that close to doing a right split

  • You should try doing other kinds of stretches and make sure the last part of your stretching excercise is the splits. This way all the other parts of your legs such as the hamstrings, calves, and torso will be less suceptible to pain when you do the splits. But just keep at it. You will get it eventually.

  • To lollypoplollypop1234: I was in the same position as you about 2 months ago. I am now all the way to the ground. I do know that after you get the splits in tumbling, that it is much easier to acomplish other things. Here is how I got all the way down.... I simplyt went into the splits as far as I could down, and then I had my coach, push me down the rest of the way. TRY THIS!! Good Luck!! =D

  • Omg but doesn't that hurt like.. really much? lol ^^ It hurts already so much when I try the splits.. but I heard that if you pull your toes forward on your front legs for a while and let them go, you will go further. Does that really help? :D

  • I remember reading a article saying they have proven that after 30 seconds there is no additional benefit to static stretching. I am feeling too lazy though to look up the article. You can find it it yourself if you don't believe me
