That was my little brother in 1991. He has 3 proshops and two wonderful Children and I am vert proud of him. He was gold medal winners in team USA at least two years in a row. By 2010 he has shot 36 Sanctioned 300 games and 26 Sanctioned 800 series. Not bad for an amature in his early 40's. He has also spent 1,000's of hours of free mentoring and coaching young kids in bowling.
No kidding! It was a touchy pair over the years, especially with the rise of urethane equipment. That's when it seemed to get really ugly.
If I remember Bo Burton talking about the pair when it got really nasty, you had to go hard and up the boards on 60 (a hard board down lane made hooking it really tricky) and hook it on 59.
If you watch the '92 Showboat, 4 of the 5 pros that day missed the headpin on the left -two of them very, very badly.
Yeah, I watched it many times! Warren (who lost in the 1st match) was the only one who didn't miss the headpin. And Bowers and Vespi both threw shots that hooked wildly to the left!

Boy 59 and 60 had to be the CRAZIEST pair in that bowling center. Throw one ball it sails, and then the next one hooks into the casino...lol!
