Firstly you find one of the tutorials on Youtube which explains how you mod your Guitar Hero 2 disc, so that you can add custom songs.

Then you find the next Tutorial which lets you play modded discs on the "fat" PS2 by useing a simply made Card, which allows you to pull out the original disc, and replace it with modded on and play right away...you kinda "boot" from the Original Disc. Try search for it.
