Why is it so white? I used to have dreams about this game and it'd look black and purple like Melee, but really big.

well.. when everybody chosed the characters the screen went black and maybe the same is when u chose stages. Also the main color on GC was black and purple while Wii is more white and lightblue. If you read about the GC trophy in melee it says that it was the main title of the hardware.
