I used to have one and yes they are loud but ONLY when they are hungry or are bothered or scared. but if u have juice or grapes, almonds, pinnaple they will love on you and purrr! I taught mine to sing a lullaby when she was sleepy instead of scream. All it takes is a calm affectionate person to learn the bird and to teach one how to be a part a happy family. Dont be scarred by this video. To many birds in one cage and hunger will cause grummpy crying. Just time and patience is all u gatta give.
@rachellynch57 I was always straight with mine, he only screams if I leave. He says, "I'll be back!" In loud peircing syllables, but i know it's cause he misses our company, so I take him out more often :)
Ours is very noisy in the morning, when she wants her fruit, her seed, when she has a bath, when the other birds annoy her, when she wants to play and when she wants to go to bed.
@SilverRaichu who said they never come out? She is just showing how upset and LOUD they can get and a good technique to do that is lock them so they scream to come out. No offense but you should make your acts are straight before you go accusing everyone of bad pet husbandry.. ANYWAY just saying:)
Yes one alone is that noisy. They are awesome birds but please do not get one if you or your neighbors can't deal with the noise! I have 4 acres and I can hear mine, inside the house, windows closed, to the furthest point in my yard. These birds are bossy and like to be heard! LOL :)
I'm fortunate, my Conure is very quiet. If I have the curtains open and he sees a cat walk by, then he'll "sound the alarm" of course. But even if I leave the room, he'll call to me by saying "Beep Beep", rather than loud squawks (I respond with "Beep Beep" too). It makes a difference if you keep your bird locked in a cage though (as the birds in this video) rather than giving them freedom outside of their cage. If someone is home to supervise, why keep your bird in a cage? It's not natural.
When I am home I do not keep any of the birds locked in a cage, I run a bird rescue so at some times some of the birds have to stay in their cage for an hour or so while the others get play time, as you can see the cage is loaded with toys so when they are in their cage they have plenty of things to do. However, I only left them in the cage for the sake of this video. Thank you for the unnecessary critisicism. I also have 2 large outdoor aviary that my birds can fly in when its warm
@TBNsrescue "Thank you for the unnecessary critisicism"? Sheesh...don't be so sensitive and quick to judge. My comment wasn't directed to you personally. It wasn't an accusation, it was an observation that as long as people spend time with their birds, they won't have as big of a problem with noise level. Clearly you left your birds in their cage for the sake of the video, and I was emphasizing the point you were trying to make. It's great that you rescue birds, I enjoyed your other uploads.
Omg! I want one and I live in a apartment! What can I do? I love this bird! I think that I'll move just to have one. Do you think that one alone will be that noisy?
@sheilablessed1304 they are more noisy alone than not. they need a lot of attention and company, especially if alone. its like permanently having a 3 year old kid basically.
@sheilablessed1304 I live in an apartment and I have a sun conure and an indian ringneck. I leave their cage open 24/7. They are pretty free but they stay around their cage. The conure screams sometimes when he is excited but it is very limited and nerver at night (he doesn't make any noise until I get up the morning). And they looove each other. I guess it depends of the environment and the attention they receive and of course their personality. My neighbors never complained.
