  • I wish that car was mine!

  • "its got brakes so you can slow down" shit sherlock i think you just solved the mystery of the millennium..

  • "Its got brakes so you can slow down" lol

  • @jmb283gt3 Yeah, lol, like it's an option. LOL!!!

  • Did he say in ONTARIO?! YES! Canada for the win! I wanna visit this track =)

  • the people that dislike this are the teenagers that dont know what a car is and how the america cars can kick the shit of there little noisy car

  • *guy revs the engine* uuuh jizzzzed

  • Lovely!

  • If only you'd apply your excellent abilities to the 67-68 Cougar, the car which the beautiful 70 Challenger took its styling cues from. I understand your Mopar love, but there are also other great candidates out there (like the Coug) that'd make well of your adeptness.

  • @SwankeyMonkey The 67-68 Cougar was basically a re-skinned Mustang. As the 70-74 Cuda were basically the same as Challengers. There is SO much stuff for mustangs already! XVmotorsports steped up to the plate and developed a bunch of performance parts for us Mopar guys ! As a Cougar/Mustang guy you wouldn't understand how frustrating it is NOT having high performance parts/kits available just because our Mopars are rarer and sold in lower numbers because they were more expensive when new.

  • how much would it cost for me to this for my challenger or a B body?

  • REAL POWER!!!

  • anyone got any tips on getting into road racing or rally racing as a career?...

  • FUCK YA MOSPORT IS THE BEST

  • man id like to have that 70 over a new one, hook it up with a throttle body conversion and it would be a nice driver. love mopar! i got a 72 charger wit a 440

  • see you can make them attack a corner, just give moparperformance a call, they'll "set you up!"

  • Is this Bahama yellow color?

  • It's XV's own color called Agent Orange . . .

  • sheesh, i bet you he doesn't even have his lucky underwear on....

  • Muscle cars on Nürburgring FTW^^

and dont forget...mopar OR no car

    greetings form germany

  • Dude i'm with you its mopar or nothing

btw i'm moving overthere sometime in the next two tears and i'm going to try to bring a good all american muscle car hopefully an all black charger.

  • low profile tyres and big rims+muscle car= FAIL.

  • yeah im more of a 15" &16" cragar ss kind of guy, those wheels will make anything look cool.

  • Except a prius. Nothing can make a prius cool.

  • @dude486

What about pneumatic squeezer on junkyard?

  • @Przemusiek Yeah it might look cooler as a cube, its still reaching though.

  • @dude486 They look great on fire.

  • @dude486 i dunno about that.. maybe not cool i guess, but i would be really gettin a kick if i saw a prius with 15" cragars on it hahaha

  • ''it's got brakes so you can stop" haha

  • haha, that's funny, makes you think about what this guy actually drives. something from the Flintstones

  • What the hell is a Mosberg?! Is there a track like that? give me a break, go drive it in Nurburgring. What is that track? Some North American pussy track?

Oh well, thats a pretty nice car. :P

  • Mosport is a former Formula One racing facility near Toronto, Canada. As well, the Indy Car, USAC and Trans-Am series have all raced at Mosport. Jackie Stewart, A.J. Foyt, Bobby Unser, Mark Donohue, Peter Revson and Emo Fittipaldi have all won at this "North American pussy track."

  • yeah, cause it's that easy to just go get an open track day with your 70Challenger at

    Nurburgring.

  • You've probably seen it a thousand times when people go out and blow big money on supposed chassis/brake 'upgrades' without the ability to tune those bits and pieces so that it all works together. This is not a parts upgrade (big brakes and tires), but a totally tuned package approach with everything based on maximum torsional rigidity and the modern tire. This package was developed on the same four-post rig used to develop F1 and LeMans endurance racers. Simply amazing.

  • Does anybody know what type of rims those are???

  • Kinesis wheels.

  • Thanks pal been looking and looking!

  • Note that if you get them through XV, that they have backspacing to match the new XV front and rear suspensions. XVs front suspension is wider than stock (measured from hub to hub) and the rear does not use leaf springs, so the wheels are made wider since there's no more leafs to bind with. Hope this helps.

  • and people say muscle cars can't handle.

  • i noe i wont be getting 15 inch wheels year one makes the stock look alike wheels up to 18 ich so hopfully that will be enough and will work. i was hoping to use radial t/a`s will that be alright u think?

  • Yes, 18 should do the trick in terms of diameter, but the question is whether they'll clear the front of the brake caliper (or will the wheel spoke make contact). You should give XV a call as they might be able to tell you if the wheels you want to put will actually fit. For tires, I personally prefer the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, Pirelli PZero Nero and the Bridgestone REO50A Pole Position. For a fun track day, the BF Goodrich KDW is excellent as in the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1.

  • cool thanx for all the info im just now looking for a shop that can do it or i will just have xv install it. i should have enough money to purchase and have them do it buy feb.08 as thats when i get my bouns money from the militay but as of now im just focused on getting it restored minus suspension oh and one more thing does the stage 2 come with the brake set up to or no

  • Happy to help out. In terms of rough numbers, it goes a little something like this:

Level II front and rear packages combined is $10,900.

Level II front and rear brakes is $5,700.

All the bracing, including the engine bay brace is about $640. You'll need the steering column mods plus a power steering pump, belts and brackets. XV's web site has the details on the breakdown of what you get.

  • since the suspenstion comes with front and rear rotors wont the brake kit be cheaper since you dont need them

  • Unless something has changed at XV that I'm unaware of, the front and rear suspension-package prices do not include any brake hardware. Just give Peter or John a call at XV to confirm.

  • and other thing if i do get the stage 1 will it be a NOTICIBLE differance in handling...and i think the stage 2 is all weld on so you probley wouldnt be able to put it back to stock if you wanted im gussing. so far i just orderd the front radiator and sub frame connectors from xv.

  • Well, the only weld-in parts on the stage 2 front are the boxes for the shock supports, but because they're welded from the front and the engine-bay side, it would be quite an ordeal to get them out to return to stock. The rear is a different animal as just about everything is welded in. I would recommend all the bracing be purchased and welded in if going with stage 2.

  • yea i want it for me im not planing on selling it i was just scared of putting in more money into the car than what is worth im already droppin about 20k 4 the frame of resto and thats with me doing some of the work and thats without the stage 2 but yea only problem is that its hard to find sombody around here that can handle instaling the xv k memeber i mean alot of places said they can do it but i want to be sure that they can handle the project know any suggestions? i live in the bay area

  • You could certainly opt for Stage 1 since it provides optimized settings of the stock suspension geometry and gets you the big brakes. One option, and you'd have to talk to Peter or John at XV, would be a mix of the stage 1 front and stage 2 rear, which gets rid of the leaf springs and gets more clearance for big wheels/tires. How the front and rear would work together is the question. As the car rolls, would the back want to unexpectedly snap around or would it always want to understeer?

  • Wheels are also a consideration, but if you're having them made to your specs, wait until you get all the gear in the car. Despite very careful measuring (an remeasuring), both the front and rear wheels had to be remade with different offsets. No matter what you're told, it's better to wait so you can measure off the actual car.

  • Lastly, our shop is also the east coast, as is XV's, so as much as I know our guys do exceptional work, shipping the car back and forth is probably cost prohibitive. My personal belief is that the stage 2 install is not beyond the serious enthusiast, but whomever does it has to be patient and ask questions before welding everything in. No matter what, I would recommend all the bracing and getting rid of the factory steering box (stage 2 required) to reduce feeling bumps through the column.

  • what do you mean..i was planning on buying the orginal wheels from year one to keep the same look but of course in a bigger size.. now your saying i have to get them custom made ? im not sure i understand please explain thnx. of and another thing you work at xv or just a happy customer? i just called them up and asked how mutch it will cost to install a level 2 suspention and they said about 5,200 fot the install..do you think thel give a better deal due to shipping or is that the set price

  • Stock-style wheels? Check with XV, but you won't be getting 15-inch wheels over the Level 1 13-inch brakes and certainly not over the 14-inch Level 2 brakes. I believe the smallest wheel that XV runs is a 17 for Level 1, but check with them (they sell wheels that work for their stuff). The other wheel issue is that the front track width changes, which means the the stock offset wheels probably won't work.

  • As well with Level 2, your steering column will have to be modified by XV to hook up with the steering rack, or you can get a new Ididit column from XV. While all this sounds like major surgery, it's minor really, but that's just kind of what happens when merging an old car with new technology. Somewhere they have to join and that's where the work is. The rear is where all the real work is done since there's all sorts of new mounting points for shocks/panhard rod/trailing arms, etc.

  • I had a set of Asanti three-piece wheels built (19-inch front/20 rear), but there are many others out there. To fully use the XV setups (Stage 1 or 2) you need low-profile tires that reduce deflection while turning. I do not work and am not affiliated with XV. I was one of their early B-body customers (I'm an automotive journalist) and I think we both learned a lot from the experience. I can't speak for them about the install price, but see if XV recommends you doing it. I know we did it. :)

  • But maybe who cares if it's better than stock? One glitch with our Stage 2 k-frame install was that the skis did not fit the frame rails very well. So, we cut it all apart, bent the skis to fit, bolted them to the car and squared up and welded the boxed section back in. I'm not sure if this was our car or a fault with the XV gear. Suffice to say, bolt in doesn't always mean bolt in. At the time, the Stage 2 packge did not include a power-steering pump, bracket or plumbing.

  • I want one

  • he is selling this car on craigslist

  • anybody know what suspension/kmemeber will be better the one from xv or the one from magnumforce dot c*m magnumforce has been on wreks to ritches monstar garadge rides and a few other shows on tlc. i know xv is of good quality but they also cost more about 10,500 for a full front and rear k memeber as magnum force is about 9 thousand for both front and rear. is this because xv is truly the beter one or are they the same? let me know wut u guys think

  • The problem with the MagnumForce one, according to Richard Ehrenburg of Mopar Action is that it's not a good piece for the street, suspension members being a bit on the light side. XV's is truly engineered for both road and track, being the better piece for daily driving

  • I have an XV Stage 2, front/rear in my 1970 RR and what sold me was the R&D work on the four-post rig, including specific shocks and not just adjustable Aldan shocks from M-F. It's the testing, not to mention the chassis work that impressed me. The XV stuff is designed as a package for the whole car and there is no guesswork once it's in. Having said that, my RR is on the ground and rolling, but not quite driving. If interested, I can keep you in the loop.

  • sounds good...thnx for the response. yea im deffinatly goin with xv for my challenger only thing thats bugging me know is that my car is a somwhat valuble car its an orginal rt car but its only a 383 but i still have the matching numbers set to the side and running a 440 in it..now my question do i go with the stage one or the stage 2 i rather go with the stage 2 but not if its going TO LOWER the value of the car....let me know what you think

  • Oh, value perhaps might best be assigned on the basis of your personal goals. If the idea is to keep the car and really enjoy it, that might be of more value to you than looking purely at resale. Then again, a fully done stage 2 Challenger from XV is 150K +. :)

  • I'm considering buying a stage 2 suspension kit for my challenger, but I'm just curious. Have you ever raced a XV car competitively to see if it actually performs on the level of today's cars.

  • yea thats what im thinking about gettin for my 1970 challenger(see video) as well check out magnumforce dot c*om they have cool k memebers to i just orderd the dvd from xv on there website that shows test runs and dyno results about there products it only cost like 4 bucks i would highly sugest buying that before u spend that kind of money. im still debating wheather to buy it from them or magnumforce. but im sure ither one will make your car handel like a brand new vette

  • OK thanks man. I'll look into that

  • you guys are awesome i cant wait to have you guys build me a car.

  • All the pricing etc is on our website, including information about how this was engineered. You can also get a DVD there that has all the video including the engineering side and how it was done. The cars were completely re-engineered. We have two complete suspension systems as well as a complete chassis stiffening system developed from actual torsion tests.

  • We don't have a package for A-Bodies and no plans to do one at this time. It is currently available for B and E body. If we got enough serious buyers in line for A Body we would do the engineering, but not enough have stepped up. We've just finished the setup for the Ford Mustang however.

  • I am building a Dart now and would love to see some engineered parts for the chassis and suspension. I have 1.15 inch torsion bars and plan on using modern disc brakes. Almost like your level 1 but not nearly as nice. Im sure guys you heard of the green brick, that is what has inspired me. I saw your flyer with the Mustang in it.. looks incredible. 4.6 and 5.4 should get a Kenne Bell!

  • I have a 69 A body Plymouth Barracuda (see my videos) - Do you sell the components to make mine handle like that challenger? If so what are they, and how much do they cost? I presume you're changing steering racks (let's face it, american muscle cars have pretty crappy steering by today's standards), changing suspension arms, springs and shocks, and presumably suspension geometry?? I would like to self-fit, so what are we talking, $5000 for the components? Cheers, Lee.

  • Do you build suspensions for A bodies too?

  • no duh its a great car to drive its a dodge

  • i love muscle cars but i cant stand plymouth and dodge because people thought they were so great the hemi,440 big block, and the 440 6 pack engines are overated my fucken LS6 chevelle anhilalates the hemi

  • lol yeah right

  • Had a LS6 it traded it for a 69 1/2 440 6 pack Road Runner which was noticeably quicker. Our 67' Hemi GTX was also faster then the LS6. the Street Hemi was detuned for street use it had a poor bottom end but put the bigger cam that original came with that motor when it was the Race Hemi only not for street use and nothing stops it. Our GTX as The correct grind Street Cam But the Heads Have been Flow Benched which made a big difference.

  • I challenge you to take a look for back issues of Hiperformance Mopar, where a de-tuned 440-6 Roadrunner running 3.23s sucked the headlights out of a LS6 Chevelle. SUCKED THE HEADLIGHTS OUT! De-tuned! So please, before you shoot your mouth off post some times slips, show some mag articles or just shut the f*** up. Oh, and on the other side, not only are you getting whipped on the track and street, but you're getting whipped at the auction block too

  • Wow gorgeous Challenger! I can't wait to see the '71 drop top Challenger video. Muscle cars RULE!

  • damn did you see the body roll on the car?

there is none! wonder how much a complete suspension setup would cost

  • All the kids who think their civic can outhandle real detroit iron need to see this. MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!

  • and there's no replacement for displacement

  • TRUE!!!!

  • If you'd like to see more of our cars the March '08 issues of Mopar Muscle and Muscle Car Power have features on a really wild '71 XV Challenger convertible w/ a heavily worked 6.1 HEMI and 6-speed.

    XV Motorsports

  • XV also sells all the components of these deals individually. You'll still spend many thousands, but not as much as if they build the entire car. You could theoretically just buy the chassis stuff from them and skip the motor & interior stuff they do.

This car in the clip is the top-shelf Level#2 suspension setup. If you wanna do it cheaper, they've also got a level#1 setup that is improved over stock but keeps most of the stock A-arms & hard parts.

  • accordng to the November 2007 issue of Car and Driver the challenger shown here list at $176,000, base price is $140,000. The only way you get get the brice lower is to insall all the equipment yourself, also derolic 69 Chargers as doner cars still cost about 8-10 thousand

  • We also install our products on customer cars that we don't do a full restoration on and install our suspension/brakes/engine/trans or whatever they want - much less than building a turn-key car from scratch.

The C&D price is for a fully loaded turn-key car with show quality paint and has heated/power seats, full custom leather interior, tilt column, Alpine w/ i-pod interface, fully carpeted trunk and more. We have packages at many different price points, including pieces anyone can afford

  • i would love to see one of those go around a road course with all original parts.

  • I have video of that - I'll see if I can't get it edited and posted at some point. Not a pretty sight.

  • i can imagin

  • I ma interested in your cars, but cannot seem to find much performance data, price etc on your website. Have you only built the one prototype so far?

  • dream on!! 70/30 coil overs up front, line it up properly.adjust torsion bars. done!!! we have a 69 coronet ragtop,426 wedge 580 erson cam mallory dual point, 4 gear 2;76.1posi 140mph in third gear well over 200mph full out in fourth !!! never lost a highway run in 15 years, 454 vettes are a joke!!!

  • please, the term for Mopar is Sure-Grip, not posi.

  • they handle fine!!!weve had 850 hp roadrunners and bees, good shockslined up properly, torsion bars set correctly,no problem!!!

  • Finaly someone that has guts to put muscle car where it should be :)) drag racing sucks!

  • old muscle cars should not be put on a road course.

  • Why so ricer posers won't be embarassed by real sports cars?

  • did you just call a dodge charger a sports car?

  • The car in the video is a Challenger, slowpoke.

  • Anything that can compete with a bmw m5 with bolt-on parts is a sports car to me.

  • Im sure it can go to there website these things handle like monsters and are pretty damn fast.

  • did u just call a 70 challenger a charger ? and yah that car would tool alot of ricers i bet

  • Why so ricer posers won't be embarassed by real sports cars?

  • my dream car...
