Oh man. I just ordered Figma's Saber(Fate/Stay Night) and Strength(Black Rock Shooter) figures. Do you like the Madoka one? Never seen the anime, so I have no idea how visually accurate it is. I think they do pretty good figures, though.

Much like those who already stated, it's not so much as finding a new potential woman or something like that, but often people would like a face to go with the voice to recognize.

It's more curiosity than anything. The same could be said in regards to other individuals, people who do Let's Plays and things like that. We all at one time or another may have asked ourselves, What does this person really look like?

I do understand that Anonymity is best though, given the people out there.

But it's overwhelming for her, no matter how you look at it because people absolutely want to believe that she is physically cute to fit how cute her voice is.

I think the element of mystery adds a level of excitement to the videos for some. The well done avatars adds a nice element of expression and character too. I think not showing the face also helps shift focus on the content... unless you are so curious all you can think about is what's the face behind the voice/playing/piano/voice acting/etc.
