Ira is truly one of the most creative choreographers....the steps he chooses just fit the songs so well. It is a pleasure and an honor to do his dances.
thats one of the most organized, well danced valles ive ever seen. in my life. no albanian wedding is that synchronized. ever. unless its in kosove. DJ Infamousflo (Albanian DJ)
Dear Ira, nice dance, but I hope that you make very clear to your audience that this has nothing to do with Albanian dances whatsoever. It might have been done to a song from Elvis or whatever. The movements are the standard "Israely" movements which don't even resemble Albanian movements.
Thank you for your post. It was the beautiful music to this song by Albanian Pop Singer, Gjyste Vulaj, that inspired me to choreograph the dance above to "Shuj Shuj Zemer". I would not recommend dancing this dance to any of Elvis's songs. Actually the first and second figures do resemble Eastern European dance movements more than the third movement which I will agree with you has a little more Israeli feel. But then again, that all depends on the style you use to execute the step.
This is only the instruction to the dance I wrote to the song "Shuj Shuj Zemer". You can see the steps with the music if you type Shuj Shuj Zemer in the search box above.

The full dance with music is on Youtube. It's a separate video. Search for it using the words Shuj Shuj Zemer.
