  • Ditch the digitech RP6 and get a boss dd20 and a fender g dec 3 (British vintage setting, which is modelled on ac30) get them both together second hand for around £300, this gives you for home use fantastic U2 sounds, i just got the dd20 to go with the g dec and was blown away by how it sounded.

  • @manuel1119ml:

You don't have to watch the videos. I do this for no charge and it's greatly appreciated by many.

  • love your tutorials and have learned a lot. Makes playing so much more enjoyable when what you play sounds pretty close to what the Edge does

HOWEVER - I cannot get the effects for Pride. Have a Digitech RP6 effects and cannot find any combination that comes close. Have you any thoughts on how to produce one dotted eighth on RP6 - I don't get what one dotted etc is so have no way of knowing whether this is even an option on mine

    Any thoughts/guidance greatly appreciated

  • @peeppeepcouk

Sorry, don't know that unit. For these type of questions, please first search the discussion threads on the U2_Guitar_Tutorials Google group. If you can't find the answer, then post your question on the group message board. This way other with experience can also answer your question. Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials I appreciate your help :)

By the way can I know which song will be next in your tutorials?

    Thanks Michael

  • @Rafal102able

    Ultraviolet is next

  • @U2GuitarTutorials I meant ( Did he use only one delay in ZOO TV tour or two in series such as in Chicago version in Vertigo tour?)

  • @Rafal102able

Oh, sorry, not sure. Two delays are not that critical depending on your amp settings.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials During ZOO TV tour The Edge uses one dotted eighth delay for Pride?

  • @Rafal102able

Not sure. I believe he's always used one dotted 8th for this song. Or two delays both set to dotted 8ths going to two amps. Not sure. But it's only one time - dotted 8th.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials Fet boost, Where can I find it?

I don't have money enough on AXE FX.

What effect unit have something similiar to FET BOOST in AXE FX?

  • @Rafal102able: I was modeling Psionic Audio's Traid. See Psionic Audio's website.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials thank you Michael

  • You're so great as a guitarist and as a person..thx 4 sharing us all your knowledge...because of u finally y learnt this classic! keep on going!

  • I've only so far watched this tutorial series up to Part 3 but have found it outstanding: clear, precise and easy to understand. Thanks for taking the time to put this together; I'm looking forward to watching the rest.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials What size strings you have?

Lately in my guitar I have changed strings on size (11-54)

  • @Rafal102able:

Yes, I like .11s on all my Strats

  • Very good vídeo...

You open a big doors with your video...

    Thanks man....

    Fernando, Brasil.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials Vox amplug can be plugged direct into a normal amp through minijack?

    For example el.guitar+ cable + effect processor+vox amplug+minijack+cable+normal amp.

    It is good idea?

Quality of sound will be good?

What do you think about it?

  • @Rafal102able:

The Vox Amplug is an amp modeler, so you don't want to put it into an amp. Just go direct from the Amplug into a recording interface. One amp into another will muddle the tone significantly. Use the Amplug or some other real Vox amp, like an AC30 or AC15.

  • It's on now! Been waiting for this tutorial for a long time. Thank you so much!

  • do sometimes you cant make a your own please the best music of U2 make a lesson with tab

  • Hi, are you sure about the settings of the dual delay?? in chicago version, if you ear the initial strumming before the beginnig of the song, it seems that there are 3 delays, but the two most important are not the same that you set; if you ear carefully the beginning there are a sort of slapback, so I think that dealys must be more 'distant' in time to get that riff...

sorry for my bad english...i'm italian!!!

    bye;-)

  • @skyany89: Sitings of Edge's TC2290 and switcher lights were definitely only two delays. You are hearing reverb or a slight delay reflection in my opinion (one delay going into a mic further away and then being repeated by a small amount). There is definitely not three delays on the main riff of this song. However, you can put in a slapback if you want. That's only a very short delay (120ms or so) low in the mix, and would not be core to the song's character.

  • @skyany89: Also, listen to the beginning of the Slane version. He hits a muted note on this recording also at the beginning. It's clearly just one delay. Cha....cha.....cha.....cha. Less reflection/reverb in that recording. Recording setups, venue acoustics and post production mixes changes tones/sounds also. So you can't judge by just one version.

  • are liverpool and axe fx two different sound processors

  • @ishaan719:

See Fractal Audio's website for info about the Axe. The Liverpool is by Tech 21 and is only an AC-30 analog amp modeler. I prefer the Liverpool over the amp modeling in the Axe, although the Axe modeling is very good. You don't need to use the amp and cab models in the Axe. You can use just the effects in the Axe. The Axe delays are the best out there IMHO.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials but i have a really bad amp and i dont want to buy an amp i what can i do? like does th AXe have amp in it where i dont need to hook it up to anything

  • @ishaan719:

I use the Tech 21 Liverpool pedal. It's an AC-30 amp model in a pedal. Or get a Vox Amplug for $40. It's great also.

  • @U2GuitarTutorials I would like to buy LINE 6 M13.

I saw that you used this effect in Beautiful Day and it sounds great but I don't know how it works in U2 Pride.

It is good effect to play U2 Pride?

What do you recommend to play this song?

  • @Rafal102able:

Sure, Pride is much easier. Dotted 8th note modulated digital delay is all you need from the M13, going into a Vox amp or Vox amp modeler. If you are playing at 105BPM, then it would 429ms.
