The problem is there is no 4x4 switch, it goes up the hill in fwd until it starts to slip then kicks in 4wd, but by that time the momentum is lost and it will not go any farther. If you want to go wheeling, buy something that can wheel.

@chevyblows2001 I had an old 1965 jeep CJ5 with "4-banger" that would go anywhere. I've also had a 4x4 Tacoma with a 4-banger that did the same as the jeep, in that it they would out 4x4 all the idiots in full size Chevys, Fords, Dodges or Hummers with huge engines in them.

The CRV isn't geared low enough to climb that hill properly. CRV's aren't meant for true off roading.......anymore than those H2 Hummers are. lol

Its a steep hill no doubt but if the driver turned the esp/vsa off he would have made it, esp/vsa only helps in slippery, icy, snowy conditions if your trying to off road.
