Both of you guys have adorable eyes! Idk how you got that bird to get that trusting so fast! Not that I know anything about birds in the first place, but good job! :D
she is adorable, i have exotic parrots that i hand fed- macaws, amazons, conures ect, now i want an owl one day!! can you keep his claws clipped or do you have to keep them long and wear a glove? i know that my parrots freak out when they see gloves lol
@linzaroni143 I'd love a Blue Macaw! I've only got the glove on in this video because it's what you should do, didn't want a load of comments saying " You should be wearing a glove!" etc..... but I've just today recorded a new video (a little early) to say thanks for over 100,000 views. @weber247 The US has tons and tons of regulations on owning wild animals. I believe owls fall under a Falconry license, which requires taking a written exam and being an apprentance for several years. Each state has different regulations.
oh and say if an owl was born and lived in captivity, would it ever survive in the wild if it were to be released? i saw an owl exhibition at the weekend and im proper interested now!
@Ninjanea in the UK you can just look online and there are loads of owls for sale, then you can go and get it without any training or paperwork or anything. Not sure about other countries tho
@aftabdarogar I don't think you're a real person, a real person would have enough intelligence to realise that comment is a complete waste of time!! ( why use double exclamation marks? is it to shout twice as loud through your keyboard?)
Yes, she is a scops owl. I bought her from a breeder. No, I don't need a license.
But you'd know all that if you could be bothered to read before posting pointless comments
@Mykidrm first of all get that stick outta your ass....responding to a simple innocuous comment with sarcasm and cynicism is not welcomed anywhere on this planet.. Also suggest from session with a therapist with fix that anti social attitude and maybe learn a little humility and etiquette might go a long way into making you a presentable human being but then humility and etiquette come from upbringing and bit of genetics so keep it up says a lot how ur parents brought you up
@aftabdarogar Sorry, at least my parents taught me to spell correctly, along with basic manners. It's very rude to ask questions when the answers are right in front of you... basic laziness and ignorance. Secondly, you're right, a simple comment from a simple idiot " i dont think its a scops owl arent they supposed to have those ear tuffs!! "
How dare you assume I don't know what Owl I have and you know better, and then proclaim it with awful spelling and grammar?
@Mykidrm now coming to the comment on the owl species you have a nice owl (yes you own a owl its no big deal grow up)...but as your "breeder"and you trust him more than books and I am pretty sure hes has a Ph.D. in Ornithology right same as u? ..read up clearly says "The Indian Scops Owl is a small (23–25cm) owl, although it is one of the largest of the scops owls. Like other scops owls, it has small head tufts, or ears." Q.E.D
@Mykidrm besides if you don't like answering comments many of them which are alike then stop posting videos....typical i m pretty sure 20-22 year old jackass generation coz when you cannot debate on facts you start questioning grammar hurrah retard read up Websters there is term called Internet lingo in it maybe you might raise your IQ a lil bit..

Besides, please continue to bitch, moan, reply and hi-light this video. @Mykidrm you are hereby blocked from messaging me I certainly have a Job to do. And remember Gita and Veds say debate and civil discussion however opposed to each other are the basis of civilized society... so hoping you will evolve into a civilized person someday
@aftabdarogar Love you too, there hasn't been a debate on any facts, I've not said she doesn't have "tuffs", she does. Just because you can't see them in this particular clip, certainly doesn't mean they aren't there. Do you assume I have no legs because you can't see them?
She is a Scops Owl, she's been DNA tested, as you know the best way to sex a small owl is a DNA test on their feathers, unless you don't know alot about owls and you are getting all your information from google?
@Mykidrm this could have been replied politely at my first post that she hasn't developed prominent tufts as yet, instead of smart mouthing, sarcasm, cynicism and berating people. and again I will say if you dont like answering simple queries and same questions many times do not post videos and No i don't depend on Google(nothing against the net but its unsupervised) i have all the editions of "birds of india" by salim ali and yes he was renowned ornithologist
@mastermutz i was just hoping to teach the uploader some manners in responding to people and be a little nice to people and not be snappy at them for no rhyme or reason just becoz you think its ok to do so but then again you cannot knock any sense in a mossy rock.. i enjoyed the video too but what ruins the mood is some lack of manners in people around ciao enjoy mate
@aftabdarogar ahhh, yet another thought provoking and insightful comment. Really, a Mossy Rock?........ and you think I'm the one that needs a therapist?
Oh and thanks for the punctuation, it made the post really easy to read.
By the way, if you hadn't insinuated that I was stupid enough to not know what type of Owl I have, none of this would have been posted.
What do you mean by a "complete imprint"? I've seen this mentioned on other sites but not sure what that means. It is my understanding that owls cannot move their eyes and that is why they can move their heads so far around.
@meltdownman1 imprint - A learning process by which a newborn or very young animal establishes a behavior pattern of recognition and attraction to another animal of its own kind or to a substitute (an object identified as the parent) -> ME!
@pimpo911 I love it when people preach and bitch about something when they obviously have no idea what they are talking about. I have an Owl and your jealous, that's alright........ you'll get over it
@JoaoCMBarbosa as I've said previously, I don't need it, just thought I should wear one as I was on camera. On other B.O.P. their talons are very sharp and can easily rip open your hands
That's so cool mate I like owls a lot but wouldn't get one as I wouldn't know how to take care of one so thanks for letting me see yours much better that way as I'm away from home a lot
@ImGonaEatChu I get asked this question alot, there are no laws/rules in the UK to say you can't have one. There are private breeders & sellers, classified ads and websites. You just go to a breeder, pay for your owl and bring it home and love it.
@hermbil123 another person who thinks I'm some how harming my beautiful Owl. Once again, Shes not ment to be wild! She was born in captivity, raised by us & is very happy & content. If I were to "release" her or let her be "free" she would either starve or killed by natural predators. Why would I want that to happen to her?
She's the most spoilt little owl I've ever seen, happy & perfectly healthy.
Would you rather live in a mansion with staff to serve your every need, or a box on the street?
Hey man just came accross your vid whyl looking at some others of wild pets. Your owl is realy beautiful it's eye's are awsum, so huge no wonder they can see so well in the night. You have an amazing pet for sure, rock on man...
@Splashstorm04 as long as you get them as a chick you can imprint them so they are comfortable around people and being touched. She's very low maintenance and such a joy to keep
@Mykidrm That's really nice to hear! If that's the case then everything I've been reading about pet owls has been highly biased. One of the articles said "Captive owls still retain their natural instincts .... Karla has lived with Alice for over 10 years, Alice still bites if Karla tries to pet her on the back." I can see all that was very false information.
@Mykidrm Well sure, but I mean.. the way you grabbed the strings I'd imagine that would hurt her. Frankly, she is being forced against her will to stay somewhere when she'd simply rather move to a spot a little further away. I know it's not your intention... I don't know, perhaps I'm over analyzing..
@aDRiiaNaNaaa no, it doesn't hurt her and as you can see by her demeanour, she's very happy to be with me and around me. She's not screaming/trying to fly away/attacking/biting at me. As I say, it's like a lead for a dog, just helps to keep her under control without having to pull on her tiny bones in her legs and feet
@Mykidrm O lord sorry bout that. I automatically get really defensive when I think that someone is bad-mouthing any kind of bird espically owls, crows, falcons and so on lol.
did you ever have trouble getting Cutch to let you touch her? Ive been reading up on owls and I hear they hate it. Also how much time to you need to devote to her on a daily basis? She;s beautiful by the way!
@Joolssify We've had her since she was about 20 days old, we've always been hands on with her and accepted us as her parents. As day to day goes, we only handle her for a few minutes each day and interact with her with her when cleaning and feeding.
i hate how people are always with that its illegal its illegal bull shit does the owl look sad and dying to you? it looks happy clean and well kept leave the man and his owl alone....although im sure you already know but you should keep her flying so she doesn't get those blisters birds get from perching too long
How is having a big bird as a pet? I thought about having one but don't they need to fly? I think that they do their thing everywhere and in strange places. Thanks for your opinion.
lol i wish i could do this stuff to my parrot but he gets so mad xP and makes wierd eyes and kind of tries to bite :'(... But I still love him a lot <3 <3 <3

@aDRiiaNaNaaa it's just like a dog witha collar on?
Mykidrm 2 months ago in playlist Favorite videos 6
@Mykidrm Well sure, but I mean.. the way you grabbed the strings I'd imagine that would hurt her. Frankly, she is being forced against her will to stay somewhere when she'd simply rather move to a spot a little further away. I know it's not your intention... I don't know, perhaps I'm over analyzing..
aDRiiaNaNaaa 2 months ago
@aDRiiaNaNaaa no, it doesn't hurt her and as you can see by her demeanour, she's very happy to be with me and around me. She's not screaming/trying to fly away/attacking/biting at me. As I say, it's like a lead for a dog, just helps to keep her under control without having to pull on her tiny bones in her legs and feet

@Mykidrm Alot of difference between a owl and a dog fyi. Owls are alot awesomer than dogs if u ask me.
Naltz15 1 month ago
@Naltz15 aDRiiaNaNaaa was asking why she had the jesses on her legs, that's why I was comparing her to a dog. But yes she's way awesomer (0v0)

@Mykidrm O lord sorry bout that. I automatically get really defensive when I think that someone is bad-mouthing any kind of bird espically owls, crows, falcons and so on lol.

is it legal in Canada to have an owl
cococlaudio123 2 months ago
did you ever have trouble getting Cutch to let you touch her? Ive been reading up on owls and I hear they hate it. Also how much time to you need to devote to her on a daily basis? She;s beautiful by the way!
Joolssify 2 months ago
@Joolssify We've had her since she was about 20 days old, we've always been hands on with her and accepted us as her parents. As day to day goes, we only handle her for a few minutes each day and interact with her with her when cleaning and feeding.

Isn't it illegal to have owls as pets?
MsLexiiLouu 2 months ago
If it's legal in the UK is it possible to buy one?? where did you get it? It's so beautiful! I love owls!
MarijaKeisha 2 months ago
@MarijaKeisha Yes, you can buy them, the same as you buy a cat or a dog. Just contact a breeder and go and collect it
Mykidrm 2 months ago
@Mykidrm Omg, I think I'm gonna move to the UK ! it's amazing! Are they expensive?? can she fly? Doesn't the owl want to get away?
MarijaKeisha 2 months ago
i hate how people are always with that its illegal its illegal bull shit does the owl look sad and dying to you? it looks happy clean and well kept leave the man and his owl alone....although im sure you already know but you should keep her flying so she doesn't get those blisters birds get from perching too long

How is having a big bird as a pet? I thought about having one but don't they need to fly? I think that they do their thing everywhere and in strange places. Thanks for your opinion.
