I got a headset last year in September, Turtle Beach PX5 mainly because they are widely known and are pretty good but I like Trittons better due to the lights and no batteries, I want to know is is the 1.5 revision better than the PX5's?
Bass wise and surround sound wise, thats all I want to know, dont really talk online.

How's the microphone on this 2012 model? I purchased the first TRITTON AX PRO a few years back, and i have bought 2 replacement mics and they have both stopped working. I love the phones, and they're great for gaming... and I want to get the newer ones.. But I dont want to invest in something that is going to have the same problem as the older version
@billiebob1980 Lol cheers man. Yeah definitely think the new ones are better, i didnt use the older ones very much as i found my surround sound better but the new pros are much clearer and more comfortable. Only problem is the voice chat as i mentioned before, its awful cant bloody here anyone.

Q) Do you find that the Voice Chat on the new 2012 v1.5 Pros is worse than the older v1.0 Pros??? By worse I mean people/friends chatting online sound more muffled like they're talking with a pillow in their mouths :-\ Only way I could describe it lol.
@fragoso0909 No. The older v1.0 AX Pros connect to the decoder by a small round plug with about 8 small pins in side, and the new v1.5 AX Pros connect by an almost HDMI looking plug.
But I'm not sure if there is an adapter you can buy.
@OfficialSPANDAX I'm not aware of any way to turn off the LED backlights in the in-line controller. I would say that you may need to return them to the shop for a new set.
@DerekP2050 Well for me a few of my clan mates we would say "Yes" the new 2012 v1.5 Tritton Pros are better than the older version - The overall sound quality is better, more features and they're more comfortable.
But that is our opinion, everyone's ears are different, many people say that Astros A40's are the best headset but I found them to be pretty poor and returned them after a few weeks.
@DerekP2050 Just do what I did mate, go to argos and buy the new version, then take the old version back with the receipt 2/3 weeks later and say they're faulty and you want a refund. They didnt even open the box when I did it, just looked through the plastic on the front of the box to see the headset was in there and gave me a full refund!
Bit naughty I know but hey we're in a recession.
I even kept the old versions power cable as i knew the new version has a dodgy one lol :)

@petes67bird nice one mate I will give these settings a try :-) I have no problemhearing footsteps inside buildings but outside I'm finding it hard to pick up .
I will not use DRC because it is the same as "night" mode on a television. It balances all sounds out and makes it more difficult to find depth. So as you would be farther away from an object or gunfire it would sound more faint, but with DRC on it will be louder giving you false depth, if that makes sense to you. I would keep it off. My settings on the old pair inline controller was this. Starting at the same color, Click the rear up 4 clicks, click the front 3 clicks, click the center 1

Yes I used them up until last night on MW3. I game nightly for about 4 hours here in the U.S. I am a huge soundwhore and had no problems with the old set, other than the headband being cracked and uncomfortable. I will game with the new headset again tonight as I do not know if I just have to break the speakers in or what, and I will adjust the Time delay to +10. I soundwhored great prior to this, but with these it sounds as though everything crushes the footstep noises, more stereo sounding.
Hi, I just got these and dont really like the way they are sounding. I had the original AXPRO's and the headband broke. I got these as a replacement and they sound "different". It isnt as easy to determine where people are coming from as it was on my older set. Did you have the older version, what is your take on this. I am on PS3 playing MW3. Thanks

@ThatLumsdenBoy hey buddy help is at hand, did the adaptor come with the american 2 pin plug on it, which you slide off and replace with the uk 3 pin plug?
problem is the uk plug does not make a connection! if you have a travel adaptor you can use the 2 pin plug! hope this helps!

Got these from Tesco online . Amazing sound quaillity out of these bad boys !!! They deffo help improve your online mw3 gameplay !!! And the hiss I think comes from when the decoder box switches to Dolby 5.1 it will only switch to 5.1 when a game has been started up then u notice the dolby light will turn on
Great vid mate, just bought mine today after using Turtle Beach for years and was blown away by the quality of this, even more chuffed when I saw it was the new 2012 version haha. Only issue I've noticed with it on the 360 is a slight hiss when on the dashboard but that's just nitpicking really, sound quality in game is the dogs bollocks haha! Great on GRAW2 xD
@daewonCRAZY cheers mate, the sound quality is fecking great, dont worry about the slight hiss its the very same on the ps3, you only hear it though when there is no sound comming from the game!! you will never hear the hiss when playing!!

Hi, I just got these and dont really like the way they are sounding. I had the original AXPRO's and the headband broke. I got these as a replacement and they sound "different".
