  • With no finger choil and a bit short for my hands the handle ergo sucks. I bought it when I wanted another knife part of my EDC, including the Military and para. I tried it and it's just not for me. Great review though.

  • @elongatuspiranha Thanks. I'm surprised the knife is short for your hands... the handle is almost 5" long and longer than the paramillie.

  • the sharpness of the benchmades out of box has always bothered the shit out of me. sanrenmu has acheived spyderco sharpness on a few of their models like the 763 and near sharpness on every other knife. why can they do it and bm can not. i do like my hk soldat. and for 40something its a good deal like a more affordable griptilian. i like the size of the 710.

  • @PavlovSandor I totally agree.. for a company that can make such well-made knives, they surprisingly have trouble sharpening them. It has been like that for the last 15 years with them too.

  • Nice folder.

  • Axis lock is my favorite style. Liner lock just kinda annoys me. And Nail nicks with back lockers just piss me off.

  • You should review the benchmade 440

  • if the spring breaks it can be dangerous when you need it the most rather have linerlock even if the liner beaks you can still use it

  • @stompySharpNpointy Well, there are two springs, so both would have to break, but yes - its not the most foolproof design.

  • @customtacticals I have a Barrage i need to get it fixed..one of the springs broke. its now a left handed knife, turned into a rock right handed... id say it was open \closed under 100 times i will get it fixed..point was more if you think you MAY need it in a self-defense situation it could get ya killed

  • @stompySharpNpointy I actually posted a video recently, testing the axis lock on a BM Griptillian. If one of the springs breaks, the knife can still function well. Even if both springs break, the knife can still be used, but recommended only in an extreme emergency, as if you are not super careful, your fingers may not like you anymore.

  • You like a good solid butt in your hand? :)

  • @JeremyHarrill1256 absolutely.. one in each hand is even better!

  • wow! i just finished filming my review of the knife haha!

  • Cool video. I have a first production run of this knife.

  • @sgi1972 awesome - such a classic.

  • Brilliant folder.

I've always put 710's amongst the collection of folders that everyone into knives should have.

The others are the CRK Large Sebenza, Spyderco Military and Al Mar S.E.R.E. 2000.

  • @PulletSurprise I agree - If Benchmade had a knife that fit that company, the 710 would probably be it.
