you're using cfls, put the lights closer and you'd get tighter buds.....remember, unless the cfl actually touches the plant you wont burn it. I have my cfls in a small cab an inch and a half away. My buds are so thick. Cfls come into play when hid's are outta the question, not to mention in combo with hids to hang by the sides of the plant for more lumen exposure...........

Note: do not flower with florescent lights, they are good for growing but to not flower and bud with them they don't have the right light spectrum for this. I put mine out in the sunlight when flowering or Get a proper bulb.

Ive always seen better results with PROPER CFL use over LED and in some cases even 400-600 watt HID.

CFL cool whites, or 6500k are like Metal Halide in color.

Warm whites/2700k are like HPS in color

so flower in 2700 and veg in 6500

If you can only afford one, 2700k will do both ok.

Dont grow with anything less then 2x43watts to start, then add 1 for each plant you add. as 1 of them coveres about 1 SQ foot, and each puts out about 2700 lumen which is the minimum you want. (i think the 43 watt is the 150 equivalent?) if not its the 54watt.

If you want to get out of the ghetto "poor word choice that gets my point across" you can actually go online and buy CFL bulbs that push 100-150-200-225 watt "430+watt equiv" that throw out 20,000 lumens. nothing to scoff at. but they are going to cost you, and at that wattage not all have a self ballast, watch for that.

You can also grow plants up to about 24" well, and have NO bad effects

But honestly, cfl's are best meant for vegging, That a clear fact. I've done cfl grows before. Cant knock it for what it is, but when you want better bud and more, you need to bloom with a hps. Just cant match it price vs quality vs running efficiency vs overall net product. Cfl's can be very limiting. Thats all i was trying to state.

quite honestly every 1 has their own oppinion on light wattage...u have to use ur better judgement and try a couple times to get it just right. alot of people go with 12 hour cycles for light 12 hours on and 12 hours off. personally i saw better results in alot of plants by doing 24hr on and off another 24 but really depends on the plant some will get burned and cannot handle that much light if u need any more info feal free to message me
