So Blackie and Mustaine have fallen for the hypocritical mumbo jumbo of the ugly liars who call themselves Christians? Oh well, no more money from me! I thought those two had enough integrity and intelligence to see through the laughable sham of religion.
@Spinachcat WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE THEM? NOT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE HYPOCRITES. IF YOU REPENT SINCERELY, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT, AS LONG AS YOU PROMISE GOD TO OBEY HIS LAWS. EVERYBODY CHANGES. ONLY FOOLS MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES OVER AND OVER. PRAY FOR WISDOM, AND YOU WILL BE BLESSED WITH IT. BUT IF YOU TRANSGESS, YOU WILL ONCE AGAIN BE LOST, SHACKLED, BITTER, ANGRY, HOPELESS, BLIND, AND LEFT BEHIND. GOD BLESS
@Spinachcat As a kid I was always at church - every time the doors were open. I believed, wholeheartedly, what I was being taught. Not until the previous 2-3 of my 41 years did I really start to question religion as a whole. It was a slow process, but I no longer believe any man's version of God is correct. Hard to believe Blackie fell for it. You can be a spiritual being without labeling yourself Christian, Muslim, Methodist etc. ALL religions are self-serving pious bullshit.
As a Christian and a metal head for 25 years. I truly love when badassess like Blackie and Dave Mustaine come forward unfraid to say who they've become.
He's battled for many years with his religious beliefs. What the future will bring who knows? Personally although this is a good song I prefer the KFD era tunes. I like my metal dark.
Regardless of his fundie christian beliefs, of which I differ greatly, he's a hell of a musican and songwriter, at least he's not pulling an Alice Cooper, and using his stage persona to spread a religious inspired agenda through a character... And I love Alice Cooper... And Marilyn Manson, regardless of how they differ in views. They both rock.
If you do a search you can find a recent interview of Blackie. He tells how he was raised in the church and became a christian. In his profession as a musician, he strayed from his beliefs. Over time he has gotten back to his faith. This song is about how he is sorry for that and will not stray again.
Evidence of this is that he won't do the song "Animal" in his concerts anymore. I admire him for this.
I don't care if this song is about religion or the bible this song is amazing. After a 25+ year career Blackie is, was and always will be the best musician on the face of the earth.
The entire Babylon album is pretty much based on Christianity. I LOVE this album it's haunting in the best of ways. First time I heard this song I listend to it a few times over making sure I heard the words right. I never saw it comin, Blackie Lawless of WASP has made a complete U-turn and kept it metal. When I was listening to the words I hit my knees. Such a powerful song. Godbless WASP!

@philosophygoth91 Dude, spreading religious crap is indeed what he's doing. And ironically, it's what Alice Cooper is not doing. I think. Lulz.

This song feels similar to Heaven's Hung in Black.
However, songs are children to Blackie, and just like children, all of Blackie's songs show that they are related.
True fucking way to show art!
