I have a Epiphone SG, and an Epihpone tube amp and It sounds wonderful when i play this song with no distortion. Total cost, $280, priceless. The only problem I have with it is that it goes out of tune to often.
wrong effect shouldnt use phaser at all for that tune need to put a backin track to it need to practice your scales more need to learn to do upstrokes but other than that it was alright
it would sound better in the fact that it will not be like the song itself so dont mess with that song lol the way its played at back to the future and chuck's are the best... dunno but i like the marty mcfly ones better XD
all these stupid comments about what guitar is better are stupid, it all depends on how you play it, (so long as the guitar is quality enough to actually play right)
all these comments saying the sound is distorted are silly too, the guitar is going thru either a fuzzbox or a distorted amp, and thats whats needed for the sound, but on top of that is a bad distortion caused by the microphone in the camera sucking, the playing was great, ^_^ i hope that settles this mess
OMG... Listen again dumbass... There is distortion. If there was no distortion then it would be clean and bland. Granted, this isnt an impressive video, but have you done a version?
yea, michael j. fox really did play ..idk if he did in the movie...cause of course i wasn't there, but i know that he knows how to play the guitar, in many interviews he talks about his love for playing the guitar and how he likes to just pick up an acoustic and play all day, except its harder to do now.
Yes, Michael J. Fox was tutored by a profeesional guitar teacher hired by producer Robert Zemekis, however due to his diagnoses of Young Onset P.D he can no longer play it as well as when he did in both Back To The Future one and two.
always wanted to know why people think when they record a video they have to have there volume on their amp blasting. I mean good cover but the high pitched (YOUR AMP IS TO FUCKING LOUD) pitches are just a hint =)
What could I be trying to hide? You can see the notes I'm playing and how I am playing them. The effect was a little over the top I have to admit, but it's just what I was messing around with at the time.
duh fenders are good for blues/rock like stevie ray vaughan and some jimi hendrix stuff and eric clapton and eric johnson and john mayer and gibsons are good for good 80's rock like perter frampton or guns n roses. theyre both good for different syles of music. and its not because of the strings stupid dun0055, its the pickups.
yeah really, you can put any guitars strings on any other guitar.... its the pickups that really arent interchangable (well they are but its not easy)
your both wrong...its the way the neck is bound to the body (fender is bolt on,gibsons are glued in ) and the wood used. right the way down to the glue and binding used, all these factors effect sustain etc etc
You are right mate. It's a squire as mentioned in my video comments to the right of the video. I only just started earning decent money. A Fender is on my Shopping list.
I know enough about music to know that Chuck Berry wrote the original and that this was a rendition. What you fail to realise is that my video on here was a rendition of that rendition. Way too much wah? Yeah, in you're opinion! Oh and for the record, MJF has been playing the guitar since the age of 8. I'm sure he was more than capable of playing the song in the movie so get your facts straight before you come online and start posting negative comments!
Michael J. Fox learned how to play it (that is clearly visible), but he did not play the guitar on this song. Although it is credited to "Marty McFly & the Starlighters", Mark Campbell sings and Tim May plays the guitar. That's a fact ;-)

he did play it, if you watchin behind the scenes on the trilogy DVD set , youll hear him say " i had to learn guitar all over again" so yeah he did play it.
You're probably talking about my use of the wah-wah effect and you're right :-) MJF didn't use the effect in the movie but I couldn't help it. I just love that effect. lol. Thanks for the comments. S3RT.

If your gonna attempt this you need a better guitar and amp. May I suggest a Gibson SG Faded and a Marshall? Total cost is around $1000.
