I really enjoy playing these game on my PC(I'm 61)and I would like to put my .02 worth on the pvt Ryan jabber. Could it be that since the game is based on real events and the real area in both the movie and game that yes there are a lot of things the same. You can go back to the Longest Day(3 hours long) made in 1962 and there is Robert Mitchem saying get me some bangalores up here. This is why the games are so gripping because they really happened not some outer space garbage

@YTLyricsMaker The maps on some of the levels on this game are directly based of saving pvt ryan, and the producers said that, hell, they said that the movie had major influence on the game itself. Thats why, and with this map, it is nearly identical to the layout of the opening scene in Saving Private Ryan.

It would still be the same, considering SPR was spot on in its portrayal and if we didn't have that movie for reference, they would simply ask more and more veterans and historians. The only things you might not see are the specifics, like the guy puking (there's always one), the flamethrower guy exploding on the beach killing several of his squadmates, etc.

Even though this was groundbreaking back in the day. It didn't take long to know that the whole game revolved around you. Set pieces and scripted parts and trigger points. I far prefered battlefield 1942 multiplayer where you know every sound you hear or everything that happens is a result of peoples actions.
