the AVERAGE mini (not the ones who beat the odds and live a long time) lives about five years. That's an average which includes all the minis born deformed or with other genetic deficiencies and die within a month of being born (and there are LOTS of those).

Yes, minis do live 25-30 years. I have been raising and showing minis for 15 years now and mine have lived well past 5 yrs of age. In fact I have several that are 15 yrs old and doing great!. now DWARF Minis live shorter life spans. They usually live 3-5 years on average. That must be what you are referring too.
