  • CON ESO JUUGABA MI ABUELOO!

  • HaHa Suckers i still have an old TV and can still use it! :)

  • No light actually comes out of the zapper. It's really a light sensor, intended to sense the light from your TV screen.

  • @Sakanakao Finally someone who speaks sanity...

  • I experimented with the zapper and a DLP.

I used picture in picture for this experiment.

1 side was an emulator while the other was a real NES. The real duckhunt did not display a square around the duck when zapped, but the emulator did.

Using the zapper connected to the real NES, I shot at the emulated duck and it killed the duck flying around on the real NES.

Might this research help anyone? Update the NES display? 3rd party NES capable of this?

  • @izlude2 edit: i clicked the emulated duck first to get it to show the box then shot at it.

  • @izlude2 interesting

  • @DoxiMoxi i figgered it out :P the emulator is able to show a frame that the original nes can't seem to do. guess the real nes will never work on it >.< unless maybe one of those strange ebay nintendos (3rd party) were able to fix it? that'd be sweet... i should buy one and let folks know if it works or not.

  • that... that would maybe be bad... be fun though!

  • 43 ppl got blinded by zapper LIGHT.! :D

  • Dude be realistic! This was from the end 80. And what the hell do you want?! That it was wirelles! Wtf....

  • @MegaCandy39 Depends on the type of TV you have.

Just be sure your TV isn't a flat screen or a LCD screen.

  • I have a zapper myself but unlike him I have the original Gray Zapper.

  • Too bad they colored it orange. Instead of keeping it gray.

  • Does anyone nes gun makes noise from the inside like something moving around inside?

  • No Light comes out of the zapper. It is a photo diode inside that senses light comming IN to the zapper.

  • This is like the forerunner of Wii

  • if light is good and safe...can i look at the sun for a half a a hour?

  • @sip309 Yes. It is safe to do.

  • Hey classic game room whare did u get your Nes and how much

  • @Lowanda23811 That's interesting since it isn't possible to play Duck Hunt on a Microsoft console.

  • No gameplay?

  • haha u run into the convience store with a tv , nes, and zapper. *this THING ISNT PAUSED ILL DO IT!

  • if only they still worked on modern tvs....sigh

  • Duck Hunt was so fun

  • when i was a kid, i got in trouble for aiming one of these at my babysitter, who thought radiation was going to come out.

  • @NullPoint84 LOL, stupid people.

  • By god I PRAY AND HOPE the stuff this guy says is all stupid toilet humor. If not, he has to have some brain cancer or some other horrible illness.

Makes me love AVGN and others much more, not one of these guys knows how electronics works, and I think that's terrible, but this one, oh my he is piece of work, why do I torture myself with this shit? Whats wrong with us, 100k+ views, shit really sells. We all eat shit.

  • @Heretiic So you're saying you don't like good reviews?

  • @Heretiic

You have to be kidding this is not meant to be a funny Review. As much as i like AVGN or Irategamer or other Mock reviews but they makeit their way and Game Room their own way. Also you should check how long Game Room reviews exist you would be surprised.

  • all hail Thomas Edison for inventing light without light there wouldnt be the crapy light guns

  • @Deta335 Crappy? It's been 27 years since I used my first one and I still can't get a reasonable explanation of how they work..

  • I find it ironic that the only way we can watch a video like this in hd is on a screen that the gun will never work on.

  • As a video game collector, I have both gray and red zappers. I only have the NES 2 'cause it doesn't have that annoying pin connector. If I were using a zapper from one of my favorite movies, then it would have to be The Terminator.

  • Comment removed

  • light doesnt go out of the zapper, it recieves light hopw it works is:

when you pull the trigger the game flashes black for 1 frame and in the next the target(s) are white squares, while the rest of the screen stays black. then the zapper, if pointed at the white square, recognises the light from the TV whent from dark to light.

and bam the duck is dead

  • how do you contact mark, he never responds to the comments.

  • Is there a way to get this to work with an SNES port? I have an FC Twin and i want this to work with duck hunt. Is there a product to make this work? thanks.

  • the light dont come out, it come in.

  • @lucasbottaro What do you mean "it come in"?

  • Im looking to get my hands on the Japanese version of the NES zapper. It is the exact same thing except it looks exactly like a magnum revolver. If you have one and wanna unload it reply

  • sounds like the "In-Th-Ass"

    N-E-S

  • hey i am starting a nes collection i only have mario and duck hunt if you want to donate any to me please pm me on youtube thanks :)

  • @MrHotrod68 lol you got a lond way to go buddy. theres about 1000 game for the nes. well good luck

  • I always feel like Jango Fett when I have this gun in my hand.

  • If only there was something like this for goldeneye...

  • i thought the zapper just registered det white sqare that comes around the duck when you trigger!

  • my zapper sounds like a stapler

  • 43 video game ducks watched this video

  • your nes is bad sealed, the black and grey plastic is not well connected

  • i have that

  • One of my friends had one of these in perfect condition, but he cut the wire so he could pretend it was a real gun. Such a freaking waste.

  • @TheMudkipArmy i did the same thing when i was a kid....regret it now :(

  • I think it would be funny to take off the wire, and pretend to rod a convinience store

  • @mamaweegee123 If you want to go to prison.

  • @mamaweegee123 you would need a gray zapper. i have one though.

  • @mamaweegee123

That wouldn't work, EVERYONE knows of the zapper.

  • @mamaweegee123 you mean rob, right

  • Ah, back when a console actually came with everything you needed. Unlike today where you buy a console, then have to buy everything separate in order to actually use it!

  • @salemcripple yeah i agree

  • what about the snes light scope u should review that

  • Nes had this idea long before the Wii or Move stuff was out! Didn't have the tech side of it down, but it was the same basic idea of the Wii and PS3 Move guns are today.

  • man i got ripped off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im right headed and last week i bought a nintendo zapper off ebay and when i got it, it was a left handed zapper. im screwed because i cant send it back. DAMN!

  • 43 dislikers were video game ducks :)

  • You are funny.

  • they had orangeo nes my cousin had 2 grey ones only on worked so he riped teh cord of of the otehr one to use as a toy gun XD good times

  • I got mine in Grey for $12 and perfect condition

  • Fun fact! The Zapper Light Gun doesn't emmit anything! Inside the barrel is a camera that takes a snapshot when you pull the trigger, and to put it very simply, "it tries to see if you took a pic of a duck". Didn't anyone notice that when you pull the trigger everything goes black except for the targets?

  • I hold mine ala Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future Parts 2 & 3, coming soon from Tell-Tale Games!

  • Which to arm and hammer?

    Wtf?!

  • doesn't shoot anything lol

  • sux they dont work on plasma tv's

  • can you make it work on LCD tv? plz i need help. ive had a nintendo when we had a CTR tv and the NES broke. i got a new 1one now so i have extra things for it. both dont work(they do shoot but the LCD tv dosent let it work)

  • why is your nintendo unscrewed

  • Imagine if they made a real laser-beam-based weapon with this styling in the future. That would be cool. Real-life would be like an 80s sci-fi movie!

  • didnt they turn it orange because it resembled a real gun?

  • I have a grey one not knowing they turned it orange until after i bought it at a thrift store

  • I have a grey one not knowing they turned it orange because of the resemblance of a real gun until after i bought it at a thrift store

  • You sir made my day, LMFAO

  • i have a retro duo its not compatible with that :(

  • @mandagames1 get a retro entertainmet system. ic can use nes equipment

  • just WOW i was 2 when this was released :)

  • @guitarmaniac83 I was 0.

  • Google "How does the light gun for a video game work?" to learn how the Zapper operated.

  • 42 people are a bunch of assholes!

  • i saw a famicom beam gun today on another if you can get around to it you should get one on playasia.com idk if it worls on nes but i would go for it if you could afford it

  • great video, have to get myseld a zapper for my collection!

  • hah, noob has an orange one... NOT ORIGINAL, ORAAAANGE

  • The first zappers had a gray plastic where its orange

  • It doesn't shoot light. It detectrs a light square on the tv screen.

  • @TheotherPrometheus Thank You, You have solved my mystery to how the hell that worked, compared to the wii with sensors.

  • @icpicpicp It was similar to light gun arcade games. When you pull the trigger, the screen goes dark except for the target, which displays a square of white. The gun sees the white square and counts a hit, or the black and a miss. I'm not sure how it differentiates between targets, such as the two ducks or pigeons in Duck Hunt.

The power glove did have a sensor like the Wii.

  • @TheotherPrometheus It differentiated by timing. First the duck on the the left would light up, then the duck on the right.

  • I just to have a gray one. I never found out wat happen to it

  • i hav the old 1

  • The old model used to be grey, but after kids started pretending it was a real gun, they changed the color to orange to symbolize safety, kinda like how airsoft guns have an orange tip to distinguish it from real guns.

  • i have an all grey one

  • damn didnt kniw there was a light gun for the nes

  • @daplaya88 really? It came with Mario Bros. which had Duck Hunt on the same cartridge.

  • @Knoss Yeahh.

  • magnavox odyssey gun is better lol.

  • Why don't you shove the zapper up your ass, fucktard. Then hang yourself with the cord. Your family will thank you :O (=====3

  • @MrCocklips -damn, slut... who pissed in your cheerios?

  • @MrCocklips Grow up and get some class.

  • i had one once but it was black with white was so fun to play the shoot the cans the shoot the bandits and duckhunt thingies :3

  • How come you never reviewed duck hunt????

  • wow! i cant believe i enjoyed this video. thanx for the flash back.

  • This is why you shouldn't throw away your CRT TV's.

  • They did make some sort of wireless version, it was dark blue and red.

  • @bobmellowyellow There should also be a nintendo rocket launcher

  • @Kwanami231 Ever hear of the super scope 7?

  • are they making light guns for wii???????

  • @weterman4320 the zapper is available for wii

  • hi i use your videos to think what to get for my xbox 360

  • It does not shoot light, it is a light sensor, your TV is shooting on you!

  • HA! Was playing Dead Rising 2 while watching this & imagined Chuck hooking up a car battery to the zapper for extreme death laser tag with the zombies/ nonzombies. Then he can combined it with ROB to make Freedom ROB!

  • Ive got an Ebay auction of some nice NES stuff!!!! Please check out my video and the auction. thanks Scottcfuse is my ebay name.

  • how did it work if it just shot light at tv? no sensor bar! will it work for modern tvs?

  • @adarshsly in duck hunt, when you shoot, a white square will flash around the duck and if you were aiming at it, the gun would sense the flash to know that you hit it. so it doesnt shoot out light, it receives light. also, it doesnt work with newer TVs because there is a little bit of video lag, so only tube TVs will work.

  • @adarshsly yes just shoot at a light bulb..... bitch

  • @adarshsly It didnt shoot light per se, the screen would go black for a split second and the targets would become white squares, if it detects the white or the light, it counts as a hit. And no it doesnt work on LCD hd TV's, but on CRT tv's it works like a charm.

  • You missed all three! *WHOOB WHOOB WHOOB WHOOB*

  • i still have my ZaPP3R

  • Youre so stupid. You looked at the functional end of the device

  • While my brother an I were taking turns playing Duck Hunt, I discovered by accident that if you have the zapper in, I think, port 1, and a regular game pad in port 2, you have some control over the movement of the ducks. Once I figured this out, I started messing with my brother during his turn by making the ducks suddenly change direction, or make them bounce all over the screen so he couldn't hit them... until he figured what I was doing. Good times.

  • When I used to have an NES, I got rid of that annoying clicking from my zapper by taking it apart and making a backstop with a couple of Q-Tip heads (had to change thickness once or twice); just the cotton fluff, I think, not the sticks. After the adjustments, I found the trigger was easier to pull in rapid succession without tiring my finger from the vibration of that clicking it formerly had :)

  • mine died a few years back finally D:

  • dude. awesome video, very funny :)

  • i just bought the duckhunt/mario game with zapper but how do i load duckhunt?? it only comes up with mario =/ plz help =[

  • @gutennachtmond uh... plug the remote in the first slot (Player1) and the gun in the 2nd... select ''duckhunt' with the remote... and play!

  • Way to plug the Zapper into the wrong port, sir.

  • review the super scope for the super NES

  • whut if the light dosnt come out???

  • If light is safe, Then explain burning Laser pointers?

  • i got an oringinal nes light gun (GREY) from ebay =)

  • There should be a Nintendo Flame Thrower

  • @Bobmellowyellow nah more like rocket launcher.

  • @Bobmellowyellow -nice

  • @Bobmellowyellow indeed

  • check out my vid of me smashing atari sh!t :D

  • my zapper has an orange trigger and the color scheme is reversed

  • i have the grey one..i think its one of the originals?

  • I got it in grey, I think i got the older version of it.

  • @3IdiotsFromBklyn u did. they changed it cuz parents got upset at the realism of the gun and they thought it taught kids how to shoot so they changed the color scheme

  • collectors, check out my listing on amazon! search NES ACTION SET, look at the "new" ones, KarmaKing is priced to sell, waaay cheaper than the rest and is in way better condition than this one! email through amazon for pictures! thanks

  • what TV can i use for the zapper ,because it cant be used with flatscreen

  • @Haloskulls117 just change the tv aspect ratio to 4:3, it should be in the TV options somewhere

  • @chevezez yea, i tried it, it dosent work

  • the japanese issue zapper was a western style revolver version of the zapper in your video. i had one. they were great.

  • this is a great example why CGR is so boring. a better reviewer would actually learn how the thing works and maybe show some footage of it in action. this neither informs nor entertains

  • that would maybe be bad. fun though hahahaha

  • I bought a grey one in perfect condition for $4CDN

  • Oh how I loved the zapper..

  • I DON'T THINK THE NINTENDO ZAPPER WORKS ON LCD TVS. I JUST TRIED MINE.

  • @bigdawg8412

    1. STOP YELLING.

    2. That's because LCD TVs emit light differently than the older CRT TVs.

  • and what the hell is up with the subtitles? hahaha

  • light is safe and harmless? what do you think lasers are? jk =P seriously though, i enjoy your reviews

  • I had a grey one.

  • @RedYoshiReturns The earlier Zappers were gray until the US federal regulations were changed to require all toy guns to have orange on them.

  • @BlooMassacre yah i had a grey one to...so does tht mean i have something more original than Mark?....wow...i feel special...lol

  • i never understood how it works

  • Just shoot at your light bulb. Hits it every time.

  • @oznapitsari That doesn't work all with some zappers. I have two orange zappers and they work. I tried it with many light bulbs in my house while trying to play duck hunt. It doesn't work on my zappers. The only way my zappers register shots is to aim at the screen and shoot. Besides doing that takes the fun out of the game anyway.

  • @Supersourcrout This technique only works on early games, on early versions. Later games and game revisions have a different subroutine:

First the screen blackens and it checks for light.

If it detects light it considers it as cheating and goes back to drawing the graphics again.

If it doesn't detect light it starts to draw the target squares, detect light, and so.

That's a way to detect cheating.

  • @oznapitsari HAX

  • Mine was gray.

  • The zapper didn't emit any light. It collected light from the TV to determine if you hit the target

  • I remember spending hours playing Duck Hunt and other shooting games that used the Zapper on my NES. R.I.P. NES you were played well

I long for the day I can use the Zapper in some way again. Me and my cousin would use my Zapper to play a mindless game of shoot eachother. :D

  • be careful with the zapper! Its the most powerful weapon around. Its so strong you dont feel or see anything. They need one for the vetrex...

  • mines 007

  • who doesent want hold up convience stores with an oragne gun?

  • duck hunt is ten times better than cod

  • The light doesn't come out of the gun, the light goes into the gun.

  • I have one of the real OLD SCHOOL (grey) Zappers

  • i like this one better then the grey one

  • i has nes game console and zapper!

  • lol i still have one and play it im 12

  • lol he thinks light comes out of it

  • ZAPPER!!!!!!!!!!!!*sob*sob*
