The TLC5940 uses a standard serial input method. You clock in each bit through the serial data in, and then latch it after you've sent a full data packet. The easiest way to understand how to talk to it is by reading the datasheet & the programmer's flowchart.

I am actually interested on doing a RGB led strip and control it with the TLC5940 for PWM.
My question is, how does the TLC works?
Do I need to program a microcontroller??
