Idiots the lot of them, glad some fell off. As for that horrid man at the end (and the rider for allowing it) - should have got kicked in the face.
At the very end of the video, why was the man beating the horse to do something it may have been scared of - regardless of whether he/she was just being naughty or not?
I'm not usually of those overly sensitive horse people, who think horses should be handled like dainty flowers or anything like that, but I have to say this could have ended really bad for some of those horses. Did you see how some of them were landing? Anyone of them could have easily pulled a tendon or worse...then what would you have said?..."oh, the horse 'wanted' to do it". Yeah...right. In this situation, most of the horses had more sense than the people..
And even though Hal is reluctant to jump the ditch in this video it is a poor representation of his character and bravery as I have ridden him in countless other coss country chases and he is amazing, I'll never have another horse like him as regards how much I trust him to jump well and keep us both safe. I do not condone the whipping of the grey and like Hal got when he eventually decided to jump the ditch they should have given him a lead from another horse.

I can't agree to those people , who critisize this vid as to be cruel . It's not cruel to use the whip , if horses refuse to jump .In opposite it's very necessary , because they have to learn to obey to the rider in every situation without compromise . If not , the horse will try to refuse again and again and at least you 'll ride a horse , which really doesn't accept you as boss ! Horses are very different , but some really just need the crop !
i'm really shocked that you guys still have horses. my trainer knows all these kids, and after watching this, she's calling the police, and yeah. these horses should go to owners that know how to actually handle a horse.

Hunting in Ireland teaches horsemen not BHS trained idiots who couldn't ride a windy gate, I hunted twice a week for five years over there and never once came home with a lame horse. Notice many horses that are initially refusing, pretty much have no problems jumping the ditch when another horse does it. Sometimes it just takes one horse to prove that it's not as tough as the other horses think that it is. Maybe this isn't as cruel as all the comments try to make it out to be?
Many don't jump the ditch. The rider has them go through it.
