  • They should look for beautiful Dark Black skinned (Black and Mixed) models in those favelas they have in Brazil, disproportionately filled under-privileged darker skinned people of African descent.

If Brazil is over 50% of African descent where are all of those people?

and they say Racism is not a huge problem in Brazil and its one big happy carnival having, melting pot ...yeah right.

  • Who's the idiot sayind most brazilian models are mixed? From the famous ones only Adriana Lima is mixed and Emanuela de Paula is black. The others are pure white.

And we don't more black or mixed models. The white ones are USUALLY more pretty, it is a fact most people will agree, otherwise we would have more black and mixed models. Just as almost football players in Brazil are mixed, they just happen to be better on average thsan pure whites. This is not about racism, it is accepting the reality

  • one woman came along this video

  • i wish i had tiockets 4 this.

  • They need more Dark brown skinned/ blacker looking models in Brazil.

Well over half the population of Brazil is of African descent-Brazil has the largest population of African descent second only to Nigeria.

For all those who think that Brazil's continuous celebration of white european looking models is ok.Watch these videos on youtube to see the injustice against dark brown people.

    *Flawed Beauty - Brazil

*Brazilian models see diversity on the runway

*Race activists want more black models

  • At last but not least the Victoria Secrets catwalk shows the gorgeous Brazilian women... Isabeli Fontana (brunette w/ blue eyes), Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Ana Beatriz Barros (blonde) and Emanuela de Paula (the black model)

  • @Applebaum Plus, in Brazil there's not "apartheid" like USA does... over here most of people get along w/ each other, even with our social/economic differences.... there's not Hip Hop for blacks or Country music for whites... it's all about Samba, Sertanejo (this one sounds kinda like Country) , Axé. MPB (Musica Popular Brasileira - Brazilian Pop Music, this one actually is not pop music, but sounds like American soul/jazz mixed with Bossa Nova, a native sound)

  • who is 2:47?

  • @lukedlang Flávia Oliveira

  • @baller2705712 but tyr GOT A NOSE JOB AND BLEACHED HER SKIN AND WEARS WIGS!

  • Ana Beatriz Barros :) Oh my God... what a beauty :))) ^ Love brazzillian girls... :)

  • ADRIANA LIMA e ALESSANDRA AOMBROSIO arrasam ! São lindas demais ! sem contar a ISABELI FONTANA que também aparece no vídeo e a GISELE BUNTCHEN , nem se fala ! BRASILEIRAS lindaaaaas !

  • that's why they called it BRAzilian..now i get it!

  • The exotic background of Brazilian women, which often includes African and European ancestry, makes them an alluring and so sexy more than most women. I love women from everywhere but they are doing something very right in Brazil. That's where I would love to spend my vacations. ;-)

  • lol Bruno, whatever

  • These girls make me proud to be Brazilian!

And you are arguing that if Adriana is african-Brazilian ... It does not matter! Die of envy for her, Alessandra, Izabel, Flavia, Isabeli among others that pass and went through the VS and that none other than the greatest of all time top "Gisele Bündchen" is of BRAZIL! The Brazilians are the prettiest! And of course my favorite is Alessandra Ambrosio = D Muah

  • @Bruno123840 is she really afircan-brazilian she doen't look like half at all...

  • @Bruno123840

Gisele is German... born in Brazil. She looks 100% German.. not Hispanic or African! Most of us from Brazil are not Hispanic.. but of Mediterranean descent (Italians, Assyrians, Lebanese), German, or Native Indians.

  • @Jaco773 You are leaving out african like most people do *rolls eyes* I am brazilian and i ahve black in me black is in most of us brazilians back round

  • Now there are three brazilian model with black heritage in the show.

  • @baller2705712 Swiss, African, Japanese and Native American Indian. The Brazilian-born model is of mixed ethnicity. In an interview on Fashion TV she stated that she is of Swiss, African and Native American heritage. While on another interview she mentioned that she also has Japanese heritage.

  • @baller2705712 Adriana Lima is afro brizilian.

  • @baller2705712 I'm not talking about everywhere

the vid is not about everywhere

its Brazil, and racism and white supremacy is nonsensical in Brazil because

Brazil has the largest population of people of african descent (&ancestory) outside of Africa. they make up well over 50% of Brazils population.

yet Brazil ideal of beauty is so european

    so white

so unlike most of its population.

dont people get a bit bored of looking at people who look european?

dont people get bored of white supremacy?

  • @Applebaum well I think Brazil is NOT that racist!

mostly because, as you said my country has the largest population of people of african descent (ancestory) outside of Africa.

Most of our population r mixed!!

it's obvious the richest people over here r white or Europpean descent (look at the Italians... Brazil has the largest number of people with full or partial Italian ancestry outside of Italy) but the things are changing!

Emanuela de Paula (the black model) is so gorgeous *-*

  • @webermeireles1 You sound like you are in denial, I think that many pale/light skinned Brazilians enjoy the privilege that their whiteness brings them &do not want to give it up. If over half of Brazils population are of African descent surely over half of Brazils models should be too.

    Watch these videos on youtube:

    Flawed Beauty - Brazil

Brazilian models see diversity on the runway

Race activists want more black models

Need any more proof that things are bad in terms of Race and fashion?

  • @Applebaum I'm not in denial... as I said It's obvious racism exists in fashion, but the things r changing...

actually I was talking about my country overall, not only about fashion industry/business...

our girls r the highest paid and most famous/popular models in the world is because most of them r MIXED!

You HAVE TO AGREE that over here in Brazil it's really hard to find a pure race (in a general way)

  • @webermeireles1 Im not talking about the world or 'pure races', Im just talking about Brazil and its racism against dark skinned beauty.

Things are not changing fast enough. You keep mentioning that all of Brazil's models are mixed but they are mostly PALE-white looking thats wrong.

Most Brazilians are of African Descent so they need to include dk brown/black skinned models. Brazil is obsessed with only celebrating the beauty of european looking people & that is Racist.

    did u watch the vids?

  • @webermeireles1 "well I think Brazil is NOT that racist!"

lololol are you serious? Any amount of Racism is too much racism. Brazil one of the Blackest countries in the world. so it doesnt matter what you think , facts are facts.

A person can be of African descent and mixed at the same time and Brazil has the largest population of people of African descent second only to Nigeria. There are beautiful Brazilian models who are darker than Emanuela that need their beauty represented.

  • @Applebaum Brazil is not one of the most blackest countries in the world proportionally, any sub-saharan country is more black than Brazil, maybe in numbers we are, but then we would be the 3rd country with most whites too, only after USA and Russia. What matter is the proportion, not the quantity. Most of those "blacks" identify themsleves and are viewed as mixed people, we are not like americans that think in onde-drop-rule terms.

  • @RaulRox21

    1. Firstly Im not American

    2. Brazil has the highest number of people of African descent second only to Nigeria in the world

    3. More than 50% of Brazilians are of African descent whether they wanna call themselves mixed, black or deny all trace of African. Saying that you are mixed doesnt mean tht your African ancestry disappears - it will always be there.

    4. Portugal was invaded by The Moors (African Muslims) for 500years, so the portuguese arent very white anyway

  • @Applebaum As I said what matters is the proportions, yes in those mixed people their african encestry doesn't dissapear, but neither do their european. Mixed is different from black. Brazilians are on average 80% european, search for yourself.

If you think portuguese are not white you don't understand anything about genetics or anthropology. The moors genetic influence is minimum and also moors were caucasians not negroid. The typical white american is much more mixed than the typical portugues

  • @RaulRox21 Portugeuese people were ruled by North African Muslims for 500yrs, it is so close to Africa, Many Portugeuese people are dark skinned, dark haired and in denial about the Moors non-whiteness - due to Racism.

Thing is if you know anything about geneology you'll know that

Black genes are dominant over white genes, *Search yourself

    Melanin is dominant.

White people are melanin deficient and are a mutation away from being Albinos.

Over 50% Black can easily cancel out 80%white.

  • @Applebaum That's bullshit. You are probably one of those crazy afro-centrist, comparing white skin which is an adaption to a enviroment with low UV radiation and albinism which is a disease. The Moors just administred the area, the mixing was very low, as also the Moors weree CAUCASIAN damn it. The fact they many of them have dark and olive-skin has nothing to do with moors or sub-saharan african influence. They are just as white as northern europeans but they're a different branch adapted to a

  • @Applebaum different enviroment.

The Black genetic dominant theory is a falsehood. Reason being that if Black genes were dominant no matter the circumstances if a Black person had a child with any non Black person that child would have the full features of it's Black parent and none of the feature of the non Black parent.

  • @RaulRox21 This would also transcend generationThis is not the case. If you were to have children with a White person your child would increasingly have less Black genetic material. If this were to continue the Black genes would be so non existent it would take aDNA test to determine Black ancestry.

What most people are doing is confusing genetic dominance with genetic prominence.Meaning that their are physical features that are prominent among Black people that show up in mixed raced children.

  • @RaulRox21 Take a look at any favela & the genetic prominence & plentiful evidence of African descent would be made very evident to u. Noone got a ride home after slavery was abolished in Brazil in 1889. All of the kidnapped West Africans had to stay in Brazil. So the African legacy is still prominent because of the dominance of darkness & african attributes, these facts should be celebrated not disputed.

My initial point is & was that over 50% of Brazilians are of African descent

  • @RaulRox21 I coppied these answers from o OGUN guy because I don't the patient to write this in my own. You are probably mixed yourself who thinks you are a pure black.

  • @RaulRox21 This is very Basic Biological Science class information that I learned aged 12.

Brown eyes, dark hair, dark skin, curly hair &even bigger lips are all dominant traits ...so basically everything associated with being of African descent/Black,

meanwhile...White skin, grey, green, hazel, blue eyes, blonde/light/red hair are all recessive traits because they lack pigment. Whites lack Melanin hence their paleness, like Albinos.

  • Where are all the black & brown dark mixed beautiful women

The Brazilian fashion industry needs to become much more diverse

all the models are still mostly pale & european looking

why dont they look for new models in Bahia or all of those favelas

its like a Brazilian Fashion Model apartheid!

Brazil has the largest population of Black & mixed people of African decent living there outside of Africa but Brazil chooses not to represent that beauty enough. where the dark skin & afro hair & curls?

  • @Applebaum I agree with U. Here in Brazil there r millions of pretty black models like: Emanuela de Paula,Gracie Carvalho, Rojane Fradique, Samira Carvalho, Malana, Ana Bela, Janaina Santos,Lays Silva,Carmelita Mendes, Nayane Teixeira etc

The big problem isn't on Brazilian fashion industry. Because this girls here in Brazil are fashion icon. The big problem is on INTERNATIONAL FASHION INDUSTRY. They don't choice many black girls! See it through this point of view and tell me what do you think?

  • Emanuela de Paula is perfect! beautiful

  • ALESSANDRA AMBROSIO the best brazilian angel!

  • There is no typical Brazilians, it is really, really, really mixed!

  • what is a typical brazilian? well, some of them have a little bit of italian blood. but here, it's common! we have the largest italian population outside italian, nearly 40 milion; and 20 milion with german blood and the second largest black population in the world...so, doesn't exist a typical brazilian!

  • Are they all ethnic Italians? Typical Brazilians look different

  • well, the thing is... there are no typical brazilians

we are a very mixed people

  • The same is in our country. We are also very mixed people. Brazilians are very beautiful, nice and very friendly people. I like them very much! The only thing I don't like is high criminal rate in your country
