  • I know the VW Golf is a good car. But I don't like the looks..... It's too boring for me~

  • Any Volkswagen Passat CC review?

  • The difference in perception of VW quality between the U.S. and Europe is interesting. It would seem that they either build better products for you or the comparison vehicles are much worse. I know of four people who bought VWs. Only one still has it and is happy with the car (a diesel). The others have all switched to Honda or Toyota models and are glad they did. Multiple break-downs and service issues prompted their moves. I switched from M.B. to Lexus and will never go back.

  • Conformists car

  • its shit german nazi crap.

  • @deathcert75 then why are you here...if your hating on a car go watch your gay porn dude

  • Polo = Lighter, Faster, More Fuel Effecient and CHEAPER

Why is anyone buying a Golf?

  • @crocodile2006 Having extensively driven both the Polo and the Golf, I have to say the Golf is far more satisfying to drive, and is much more smooth and refined than the Polo. The Polo is easier around town and to park but that's about the only way it's more beneficial than the Golf. There's also a whole lot more room in the Golf and it just feels higher quality. Speed depends on which engine you get and the Golf will stand up better on the used market.

  • @crocodile2006 roomier

  • I've realized this vid is a little biased. when doing the example of rear leg room on this one, he went to the passengers side to test it. but with the fiesta, he used the drivers side. and complained it was too cramped.... hm

  • This guy is super cute. My mother just bought a new GTI; it's incredibly dull, even if it is a very good car. Visibility is DREADFUL. I had a 2002 Mk4 Golf and even IT had much better visibility.

  • I love this guys reviews especially the water in the doorbin test

  • unless your getting a tdi its not worth it vw and audi engines are notoriouse for sludge problems at 120000 miles yes they are a great car until that 2500 dollar bill pay extra get a deisel or get a subaru

  • I don't get why people like the Golf so much when the Polo is cheaper, faster, lighter and more fuel effecient.

Seems like you are paying extra for the name

  • @crocodile2006 The Polo is ugly, smaller and lower in quality.

  • @googleccd079 It's the same fucking car.

Plus it's more fuel effecient. Plus it's FASTER. Plus it's LIGHTER so probably handles better.

"Golf" is just a name to make silly people pay more than "Polo"

  • i just wondered what the cars are that you british people have at your driving school. in germany it's mostly vw Golf, audi a3, bmw x1 and Vw tiguan. i drove a golf. what are you using?

  • @rihannahatsdrauf

Italy has mostly Golf, Polo, Fiat Punto, Mercedes A or Opel Corsa

  • Why does carbuyer have the hugest boner for VW interiors?

  • NEGATIVE: It's a VERY unreliable car!

  • @OneOfaKind949 i think you have an auris or a civic am i wrong?

  • @OneOfaKind949 Prove it.

  • @OneOfaKind949 I believe this comment slipped in from a parallel universe... Bit of a glitch in time and space there.

  • great car!

  • Most likely this will be my first car.

  • ok, i'm sorry but this hatchback is the best looking in its range

  • love the golf but i'd definitely pay more for the gti

  • The back seat buckets can be pulled forward and rest in the leg space so the back rest can fall flat. Driver found ;)

  • too bad there so BLAND and BOOORING

  • 2:00 Wait how does that work? If you put it in reverse you have to have the clutch down when not moving yet you manage to wander out to the back.

  • @sirprincy Camera probably works when he gives contact.

  • @sirprincy The key is set to power-on but the car is not running. So the electrical subsystems are engaged, but not the mechanical ones.

  • blatantly his favourite car, you can tell in all the other reviews. kind of makes this one a bit biased ;)

  • This guy does really good reviews

  • @Jmoneyy100

Good reviews???? oooooh please!! Every fackin video of his is the freakin same. EXACTLY the same.

  • Mat, review golf cabriolet please

  • y want to get the 1.4 160hp engine , anyone know how that is?

  • despite vw high maintenance cost, ill take a VW badge over a KIA badge

  • hes jacked lol

  • 1:53 Why didn´t the car stalled?

  • @skateskating The car was probably off, and anyone who needs a camera to park shouldn't be driving!

  • just think this is an ugly car :/ shame

  • matt, please review the new golf cabriolet! :)

  • watch?v=dIL1s0UDJhY nice vr6

  • seats do fold flat.... you have to pop the bottom half forward againt the front seats first then the rears fold flat into that space

  • @jumpbike Can't do that for a Golf. The seat base doesn't move forward against the front seats. The best one can do to fold down the seats would be like what the guy did in the video. =)

  • Too bad it's so lame looking..

  • the left foot

  • Looking at the negatives

    1. The fact that it looks clean and simple is one of it's best features!

    2. It's the same story with the interior, the astra just looks tacky.

  • Bom, agora eu sei onde a VW lucra "menos"... nos países europeus! \o/

  • Do english people cluch with the right or left foot?

  • @oeyvind93 no offence but what a stupid question, can you imagine the problems if the pedals were swapped round in an opposite drive car, only difference is the position of the gear stick basically, all pedals, gears and steering wheel controls are in the same order...

  • @jumpbike Sorry mac. I dont own a car jet. I'm just wondering

  • Sharp? Ford focus?

Dear, this car must be bad.

  • im loving your reviews and thank you for that but i really think you should talk about the sound systems a little bit. not in each review but if they're really good in a specific car, you should

Cheers! and keep doing what you're doing.

  • i want a golf too since the day i climbed into one..

  • @bodybuilder526 to show how much space you got...kind of

  • I so very much want a VW golf :(

  • That is a manual transmission car and he selected reverse gear @ 1:48, camera popped out OK but how did you LEAVE the car ?!?!

  • @zoomzed The Car had the E-Brake pulled and ignition was turned On, shifting into Reverse causing the camera to pop out lol

  • @zoomzed the engine wasn't running, only the ignition was on.

  • i always love these reviews but i didnt understand why Mat is being crazy about Vw cars this much..until the day i got in to a Golf of my friend as a passenger at rear seats.i understand him now..

  • This is a best car ever....

  • does the golf have the removable boot floor the same as the polo?

  • how the heck he left the car on reverse, then show us how its the camera on the back, and the car didn´t move 1:48

  • @dnaniell Are you 5 years old? You can put a car in reverse even though you aren't moving. And the camera apears whenever you put it in reverse.

  • @MacGyver920 but in a manual car, when you left the clutch the car moves itself without rev it

  • @dnaniell Handbrake, maybe? Or maybe the car doesn't need to be running at all? The camera apears if you put it in reverse, even if the car is running or not?

  • @MacGyver920 maybe its because the handbrake, but i don´t see him activating it.

  • @dnaniell The film is cut, you know.

  • @MacGyver920 haha maybe, but if you look, when he get out the car the gear stick stills in reverse jajaja. thats wear.

  • @dnaniell As I said, it's amazing what you can do with a film clip...

  • @MacGyver920 ajá...

  • in my opinion Golf V is much better good looking

  • This is very similar to the mk4 1998 version. In fact I dare say VW are too scared to change the looks in case they lose customers. I don't think they're all that great compared to a Honda Civic or Ford Focus. It's also a bit worrying people think they're good looking when the basic design hasn't changed in 13 years, just minor changes such as the lights and wheels! (I'm talking about the design not the improvements in engines, floorpans etc).

  • @00kirbyd

It's the idea of a car being recognizeable by anybody. It's a marketing trick. The Golf is still a reliable car, but not as reliable as japanese ones. I like the design much. It's the same with Apple. Probably not the best copmuters, but the design is clean and build quality is high. The Golf is the iMac if it comes to hatchbacks.

  • great car...although the price of rediculas when compared to a renault megane

  • I must have watched this review at least 10 times now... sooo wish I could get this car..

  • I know that this is Golf but name of the Golf???

    Golf 3,2,4?? what??

  • @SuperMusic1907 Golf 6

  • @SuperMusic1907

    That would be 6

  • look goodcar

  • He looks like Bear Grylls.

  • 0:42 Impressive arms!

  • @MacGyver920 macGAYER please

  • @TheKenjoje Jealous much? :P

  • @MacGyver920 haha pathetic

  • @TheKenjoje Sure. You know what else is really pathetic? Your sense of humor.

  • @TheKenjoje Commenting on another man's looks is gay now? It's just a compliment, deserved in my opinion, give the guy some credit, his arms look pretty strong.

  • @diiebane it's a matter of form. if you say - the one looks ok because of etc. - isn't gay, but if you say he has a strong arms - it moves it towards gay context

  • Smart #13

    Ford#14

    Porsche#16

    VW#20

    BMW#21

    Audi#24

    Mercedes#27 out of 35 manufacturers.

Hilariously Fiat and Peugeot/Citroen are statistically more reliable than BMW and VW. Why does everyone think German cars are such high quality when the often ridiculed Fiat and the French brands are STATISTICALLY PROVEN to be more reliable.

I drive a VW Polo so Im not a fanboy. Just annoying when everyone assumes German cars are bulletproof cars that will do 500,000 problem free miles. It's false.

  • German cars arent reliable. Check the surveys. VW are merely average. People have this perception of "german quality" because they spend a lot of money making the interior look very high quality. Thats now money they didnt spend on quality mechanical parts. Id rather have a Japanese car with a cheap plastic interior but bulletproof quality mechanicals.

  • @TheHornyHomunculus In the 2011 JD Power Survey VW's, Audi's and BMW's scored very well but all the Fiats were quite low. The Fiat Bravo came bottom of it's class third year in a row which is a shame because I was seriously considering one for my next car. Yes, the claim of German cars being bulletproof is false but they're generally more reliable than Italian or French cars

  • @aspiringdrummer17 The JD power survey is a satisfaction survey. It's how happy they are with the car, dealership, running costs aswell as reliability. I was strictly referring to reliability survey which the German brands were poor and it's not the 1st time. I've got nothing against German cars... I own one. Just want to point out the truth to people who are I feel being misled a bit.

  • @TheHornyHomunculus Well certainly in my experience German cars are more reliable than French cars but if reliability is a must then buy a Honda. All the Honda's we've had HAVE been bulletproof

  • So... how much does it cost?

  • @sirprincy £15k+ so not much more than Astra, Focus etc but it holds on to its value very well. I would have one if I were a man who gets cars brand new. But I don't because they lose too much money. Except the Golf holds onto its value very well

  • What about the engine, "burn" oils like old times??????????

  • Golf and GTI = legendary pedigree. GREAT cars!

  • Are volkswagens in general reliable cars?

  • @applesmnch2 Yes! I've had my 2003 Golf GTI since late 2002, with NO major problems! It has literally been more reliable than my Subaru and Toyota (past vehicles). And a lot more fun to drive!

  • @applesmnch2 yes they are

  • @applesmnch2 Yes German makers (incl Skoda and Seat) tighten their screws a little tighter than the likes of Toyota, Citroen or Ford. This means they're uber reliable and well built so you should only have to see the dealer once a year for servicing and MOTs

  • Sooo fucking uglyyyy golf.ALFA IS BEST.

  • Sooo fucking uglyyyy golf.ALFA IS BEST.

  • i think its interior is kind shitty.

  • But what about the engines, Mat?

  • hes got some big ass arm muscles :P

  • A3 is better.

  • It's really great, but is it reliable? I heard that vw was terrible in reliability :(

  • Comment removed

  • @applesmnch2 its volkswagen, pretty much one of the most reliable manufacturers going

  • LOL that rear camera looks like a 007 technology

  • @mikemike1307 i want it adapted to shoot a laser at enemies chasing me in high speed get away

  • Thank's CarBuyer about time someone can make proper car reviews.

  • i love your reviews! :)

  • Not even a mention of MPG? In this day and age this must be a standard question.

  • @lonewolf0401 When they don't mention which engine they are testing, I don't think it fits in to mention MPG and other stuff. Well, they could mention all the MPG specs for all the engines... I kind of changed my mind about your question, haha!

  • Getting mine in one month! The exact color! So excited!! Wish they had that rear camera option here in America but they don't:-/ buuttttt the car is still awesome n I am SO excited!

  • @cameragirlKX is this the Tornado Red (basic non metallic) or Salsa Red (metallic as extra)??

  • @rapidtranq tornado red! went to the dealer today and i will be getting my car at the latest next wk!! so excited!!!! =) the salsa red is SO much nicer.. but they dont have that color in the states.. =/ ps the two things i did not like about the car is that it does not come with an arm rest (both the diesel and gas do not come with it) and also, the gas comes with only steel wheels with hub caps =/ i didnt want diesel bc i dont drive that much.. other than that i love it!

  • the golf is a suuuper car, but everyone has got it here in norway :(

  • Y like your citizen skyhawk a.t jajaja, cool videos and congratulations the reviews

  • twisty bits

  • I'm getting mine next week! Very excited =]

  • Does anyone know which trim is shown in the clip? I'm seriously considering the Match 1.4TSI (5dr) with the 7spd DSG...doesn't look as beautiful as the Civic or Megane Coupe...but you can't deny German precission....

  • My next car is an Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Looks are drives much better. The Golf is DULL, both inside and out, and that VW badge is NOT desireable. A Ferrari badge is what you'd call desireable!

  • The rear backup camera is UNDERNEATH the badge, lol love German cars

  • In America idk why no one ever buys this, pretty rare around here in new jersey, maybe because it's expensive? Maybe the Japanese have brainwashed us all?

  • buy one with DSG, they are far better to drive

  • Wow! I love the style of your review. You got down straight to the main points that buyers look for when buying. No bull.. plain and simple and effective.

Kudos and thanks! I might just buy this vehicle :)

  • its so typically german....it works perfectly does everything everywhere but has no sex appeal at all...no curves no fun

  • It looks nice, but it has the kind of suprised/dumbfounded look on its face. definately a great car though.

  • Seems as if i am the only one who thinks its ugly on the exterior.

  • vv

  • Ummm at 0:51 the rear VW badge opened and closed.... Why...? Haha...

  • I'm in the US and just bought a leftover 2010 2 door Golf. What a beautiful car. It has the NA market 5 cylinder engine, of which I was a tad leery, as I've only driven 4 cylinders, and didn't want to sacrifice fuel economy too drastically. I've been pleasantly surprised by the fact that i'm getting 2 MPG more in the city, though 3 less out on the highway as compared to the Hyundai Elantra I had previously (which I must state is a solid choice for those not craving that German feel).

  • @tacoeatingzebra is that comment make you gaining money?

  • i think these need better mpg for gas version. Civc and elantra both get better mpg.

  • what model was this??

  • This is a good car but...

Alfa Romeo Giulietta shits all over this thing.

  • Nice car, but somehow I still prefer the similar Seat Leon.

  • He likes the VW, Audi group. You can tell by watching the Audi A3 interview. Hes a great reviewer though!

  • This car maybe is the best in its class, but it is also and the most boring!!

  • This is GERMAN quality!

  • astra is a 747 for this golf .

  • you are in love with the focus, mate.

  • isn't this host reviews cars for icars as well?

  • it may be the best but its not a looker. not at all

  • it's such a good looking hatchback, the design and quality is impressive.

  • @Aspireonthego I LOVE MY GOLF LOL

  • @Aspireonthego its funny how when i see a top comment , i just press the thumbs-up no matter ..

  • @fisics22 lol thanks

  • reviewer = so cute 8D

  • I could buy one if it has a cheaper automatikk girbox and a better interior. My choise is new Toyota auris 2010 with mmt gearbox and 1.6 petroleum engine. Like golf but it is too boring! Nice video thanks!

  • @parenizstali it's Automatic, not Automatikk...

  • its unfortunate that many of the euro spec features did not make it over to the U.S (i.e. Rear View Camera)

  • @HardToBeAlive Sounds like you get fucked over on most cars in the US

  • @HardToBeAlive Yeah we get jewed big time

  • has the golf got a usb input like the astra?

    awesome review btw x
