  • Ab fab! Great transfer job! Sometimes I could kill myself for selling my record collection! Saw this guy and his band at the Body Shop in Vancouver, Canada in about 1979 and became an instant fan. Always remember the wild madman on keyboards but could never remember his name. Canadian legend!

  • @trnjan59

    Glad you enjoyed :)

I ripped a few of his LP's a couple years back. I haven't looked in awhile, but as recently as 1 year ago the only Dom release on CD was a 'Best Of' type compilation. Sadly they missed several great songs. I also have "War Zone" uploaded if you're interested :)

Oh...and the keyboard player you saw with Dom's band at that time was more than likely Josef Chirowski of 'Mandala'. He also played with Lou Reed and Alice Cooper, along with Penti Glan & Prakash John.

  • anybody have Troiano's 1st album from '72??

  • @MrDuaner123

I own all of his albums on vinyl. I'll try to do another Dom upload here in the next while featuring stuff from his debut LP.

    Cheers!

  • Used to play Burning At The Stake years ago . Spud has some of of all time fav. guitar lines ! Thanks for posting !!

  • @uglyethel

You're very welcome!...Dom's been a favourite of mine for many years. Please check out my vinyl upload of "War Zone" also, I think you may enjoy that as well :)

  • Very nice. I have a copy of The Jokes on Me on vinyl but the turntable has not been hooked up in years. I used to listen to it fairly often. This brings back memories. Thanks for posting it.

  • Dom was a leader in Canadian guitar playing back from the 60s with Mandella. Bush,James Gang,Guess Who and solo work. I viewed and listened from the Winnipeg music scene in the 60s,70s and early 80s where I was a local player with various bands--most notably Graham Shaw and the Sincere Serenaders (Capitol 1980,True North 1981). Dom was a great funky player who also sang very well and composed some amazing stuff. He is missed by many. RIP brother.

  • @dannyman60001

I'm also from Winnipeg, though moved to Toronto when I was young. Bush played my high school.

I've been living out west since the late 70's. I was also involved in the music scene...we may have crossed paths sometime in the distant pass :)

  • The rhythm section is tight assed and greasy - the way we like it.

  • @tynertyner

    Yes...keep it greasy...greasy is good :)

  • @jazzterboi

    You're welcome...glad you enjoyed!

To my knowledge, none of Dom's solo albums have ever seen re-issue on CD...haven't really looked for a couple years though, so who knows. Though I may have seen a "Fret Fever" CD on eBay.

There is a pretty decent Domenic Troiano compilation CD titled "20th Century Masters The Millennium Collection: The Best of Domenic Troiano" (released 2003)...not bad, but missing many great songs understandably.

Please check out my other Dom Troiano video :)

  • Happy New Year! This tune is suited for the beginning of 2011!

  • @elephanta2

Happy New Year to you as well buddy :)

  • Thanks for posting this! I haven't heard this since I was 18 and still had access to my dad's vinyl.

  • I knew this band for the first time at here, wow that's very nice!

  • @elephanta2

Thank-you, I'm glad you enjoy them! I also have another song uploaded by The Domenic Troiano Band titled "War Zone". I think you'd like that one too.

    Cheers!
