Well, i could look it up, but that would be more reaserch than its worth. I think it was a german monk that first put black powder in a tube with a projectile (aka, simple gun). I think what you are thinking of is the fact china invented the black powder.

These guns are okay I guess. The first round is pretty accurate, the rest fly everywhere. Thats why you can only use 2-3 round bursts.

Actually, you fire the SAW in bursts of 6-10 rounds. This is the suppressive and area fire weapon for the infantry fireteam and squad. Ideally the gunner should be prone and braced when firing. Meant to suppress a target so the rest of the squad can close.
