The vertical grip makes this an illegal assault weapon......
Make sure to throw a bullet button on that if you want a vertical grip or pistol grip you can't also have a detachable magazine.
The M1A is a great Cali friendly rifle just keep a fixed stock and no vertical grip and you can have detachable 10 round mags or even 20 round mags as I've been told by several gunshop owners.
you can own that gun in california? if you can how old do you have to be to own a gun in the state? i live in san francisco and i really love that gun and i don't know shit about gun owning. =/
@DonSureShot You can own this rifle in california however NOT with the front grip attached unless you have a fixed magazine (pinned or bullet button.)
Anyone over 18 can own a firearm in California (unless a felon, insane, dishonorable discharge etc...)
21 for handguns and there's all sorts of hoops to jump through...
As I recall didn't the Second Amendment state "shall not be infringed upon" all this bullet button and wait period and registration nonsense sounds a lot like INFRINGING.
@SoCalTactical To own a handgun you must be 21 and pass a safety test that takes 20 minutes at the store, other than that, and the normal background check and 10 day waiting period, it is exactly like buying a longarm.
@NorCalR32 be careful bro, i am pritty sure putting a foregrip on that constitutes an Assault weapon in Cali. Unless ur LEO but it has to be a departmental Rifle. I could be wrong but i remember reading it on the cal DOJ website.
need a collapsable buttstock but really what good is this without the barrel? I mean yea the 556 doesnt have the stopping power but its lighter and with the short barrel m4 u still good for 400M + targets... idk .. cool gun but yea
No internal mods to my SOCOM II, just the external ones (EOTech, GG&G Vertical Foregrip and front sling mount). I love the gun and would recommend it to you when you are old enough.
DAMN YOU CALIFORNIA YOU RUIN ANOTHER M1A!!!!

How pointless with a vertical grip. Put some rail guards there instead.
relicen1 3 years ago
hey vertical grips stabilize my M4 a lot. it may not be the same case for you.

All preference buddy.

Rail guards wold be pointless too!!!!
kicknbazz1615 2 years ago
Sure, if you have hands of steel. The picatinny rails aren't comfortable to hold on a recoiling weapon.

I think the M14 has much tighter tolerances so no.
esh325 2 years ago
how loud is the gun overall.... i have seen other videos most seem tolerable but one is extremely loud i am considering purchasing one
HemifiedCordoba 3 years ago
I don't think it's noticeably louder than any other .308 I've shot. It's certainly not loud to the point where it's uncomfortable to shoot.
