  • More importantly, the guy in the second half of the video totally owned that jackass reporter.

  • That looks soo, soo much her. That smile is exactly the same. Goodness, she's beautiful.

  • i like Kramer vs. Kramer

  • I really don't think that's her :)

  • This footage is from the Beatles' August 1966 show at Shea, not August '65. So if Meryl says she went to the '65 show, this can't be her -- unless she went to both and didn't say so.

  • :15 - :23 She makes a series of faces that only Meryl Streep can make, up in the background there. How could you even question it? Nobody looks like her. It's definitely her.

  • Meryl Streep honored Paul McCartney for an award in 1990 and she said she went to Shea Stadium in 1965 in row 160 so i think this is her.

  • Nah its definately her, you can tell by her facial features

  • I think it looks like Meryl Streep but she dyed her hair at 15 years and that does not match but had already been contact lenses and it also did at age 15. Just does not fit everything perfectly but facial features resembles

  • i think they're still strooohng

  • OH SHE'S A CUTIE! :D

  • So is it her or not? I want to know:-)

  • There is a video here which has a bunch of home movies and videos of Meryl growing up. This is in there. Check it out. Also quite conceivable that that guy is her brother Harry. He resembles him.

  • Well, she DID see the Beatles at Shea Stadium. She says so when she gave Paul the grammy. She grew up in New Jersey...I say it's her.

  • NO WAY is that her - she resembles her quite a bit, but, come on people, everyone thinks it's her because they want it to be her #wishfulthinking

  • It's definitely her. Did you not see her introduce Paul McCartney with this clip at the Grammys a year or two ago?

  • 0:09 4 years later, the girl's all "NO! NO! NO! NO!"

  • Definitely looks like her when the guy is being interviewed and she's standing behind him.

  • What was this for???

  • how could it not be her? she was at this show and it looks like Meryl and has some of the same manerisms. I'm 99% sure it's her.

  • Meryl Streep is nowhere in this video I'm sorry to tell you.

  • this is not her!!!come on you can see it from her nose!!!

  • reminds me of the bieber craze they're all saying the same things

I AM NOT COMPARING THE BEETLES TO JUSTIN I AM JUST SAYING THE MEDIA IS SAYING THE SAME THINGS 50 odd years ago that they are saying today

    funny how that happens

  • that's just not her - it does look quite like her though

  • She was gogeous at 16 years old and she still is

  • Comment removed

  • Well, while watching the part where girl is talking I wasn't at all convinced that this is Meryl, but then, when the boy is talking and she is standing behind him she looks JUST like now - the same nose, lips, chin - everything.

  • That looks really like Meryl, but am not shure yet! And she dyed her hair blond when she was a teenager :)

  • I think the boy interviewed at 0:30 is her brother Harry Streep.

  • That is NOT Meryl Streep!

  • Man, she was hot. (still is)

  • @DamitaJo87, and,...erm,...it's her

  • i think it's meryl. she has the same shifty eyes and seemy way about her. plus, meryl is a self professed beatles fan.

  • It IS her, she confirmed it.

But why does the CBS reporter sound like a sarcastic 30's gangster?

  • That does look like meryl ! And she did once say that she went to a beatles concert in the 60's

  • She sounds exactly like Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

  • I only wish she could tell herself if it's her or not.

  • That smile at :16.. come on. .Nobody else smiles the way Meryl Streep does, how could there be any question? it's less apparent when she's in front during the girl's interview, but when she's in the background, she looks as Meryl as ever, no question.

  • its not her but there is a huge similarity to her and streep

  • none of these kids is meryl streep. real fans see that shes not in it^^

  • thanks! ;)

  • the nose is different

  • Meryl Streep isn't the brown-haired girl answering the question! She's the blonde-haired girl on the LEFT who says "nooo...". She's looks cute.

  • @xander7ful The girl on the left is not blonde. Though it is black and white it is clearly dark hair.

  • I think its her...just look at her smile at 0:16 it look soooo much like her

  • It does look like Meryl Streep...but I swear Meryl Streep is a blonde. Her roots have always been such a light brown/dirtyblonde, that of a true blonde.

  • That is not Meryl Streep. Meryl Streep had blonde hair and was thinner.

  • Meryl is not natural blond, and in the age of 15 or 16 she desiced to lose weight....she wasn't thin as girl

So, it's possible that this is Meryl

  • If she isn't a natural blonde why is her hair blonde in her school picture? Every time I see her hair it is blonde.

  • @EnchantedSilence that's meryl. in 1990 she presented the lifetime achievement award to paul mccartney and talked about shea stadium.

  • @fashionistoxo So that doesn't prove anything. I read in the comments somewhere that Meryl was at Shea stadium in a different year than this video. Just because you say something without showing proof doesn't mean you're right.

  • @EnchantedSilence LIES!!!!!!!! look up meryl streep grammy 1990 and listen then..

  • @fashionistoxo She did not have black hair, sorry.

  • yeah, i can see the resemblance, but im not so sure its her, it's hard to tell

  • Not her. Despite the chin and nose similarities.

  • @eezysqueezy Yes, it IS Mary Louise Streep. I know for a fact, and I will not tell you how (because it is none of your business).

  • omg looks nothing like her haha

  • uuuuhhhhh....hello?....Meryl is the girl on the left..

  • omg it is her when that guy started talking you could see her in the back and she has the same face and nose wow she was soooo young i would of even reconized her

  • na, meryls natural hair os brown. she started dying it blond as a teenager. watch her AFI tribute, meryl tells a funny story about it. anyway, i dont think its meryl. but the girl really resembles her!!

  • I know why that young guy was there...all those horny young girls....

  • I don't think that's her...I found a very young photo of her if I don't know if she was a teenager in this picture. I edit it by adding three pictures of her in different ages.

    [remove all spaces]

    h t t p : / / i m g 1 9 4 . i m a g e s h a c k . u s / i m g 1 9 4 / 6 1 9 6 / m e r y l s t r e e p . p n g

  • I think you're right and this photograph is a proof.

  • @gapont2 Not really, the photograph is of a 19 20 year old Meryl. A girl (and a boy) can change a lot between 16 and 19, particularly in the roundness of the face, the younger the rounder. I don't know if it her, but that's exactly like would have looked like at 16 in 1965, she was in the area (Bernardsville) and the photo does not prove is not her. It's really hard to tell, why don't you ask her, you can do that through her webpage,

  • @GreatBigRiver

    check this:

MERYL STREEP HONORING PAUL McCARTNEY (1990) 1/2

  • Sorry to be a killjoy but these interviews were prior to The Beatles appearance at Shea stadium in 1966 not '65.Streep has only ever claimed to be at the Beatles '65 concert at Shea stadium.

  • maybe... looks a lot like her though.

  • LOL! her "John Lennon hat" :D COOL but she loves Paul... :D thanx 4 posting this

  • wo!!she's just a ramdom kid back then right?

  • It looks a lot like her and I heard she's a massive fan of the beatles back in the day and that her favorite was paul.

  • thanks for posting this video..i love meryl streep so much!..mwaahh..

  • Well i am not sure it's her. I am just asking.

  • Comment removed

  • I can see some resemblance on the nose, lips, and cheekbone when she smiled. ; )))

    Thanks for sharing ;D

  • damn, Youtube brings out all the videos.

  • is meryl the one with the hat on tht looks like her :P

  • One more comment, the girl being interviewed has a NY, Brooklyn accent. MS grew up in Central New Jersey I believe. So she is with a friend who lives in Brooklyn, not a friend from NJ? Looks like her though...

  • Need to check this, but this interview is from 1966, not 1965 when she said she attended. The question, "aren't the Beatles out?" would have been asked in 1966 when their popularity began to fade and with Lennon's Jesus comments. The show wasn't even sold out in '66...

  • God! How many people on here think that Meryl is the one speaking?!!!

Meryl is on the FAR LEFT! Not speaking-Just smiling!!!!

  • she died her hair later on, but I see what you mean she has an accent and is a little chubby in the face, along with her nose. And blonde hair shows up very well, like red.

  • doesnt blonde hair sometimes look dark in black and white film?

  • Yes.....this is her!

  • There is a picture around of her at the age of 16 and she is blonde on it and doesnt look anything like this.

  • i personally think it looks like her

  • that's not meryl ¡¡¡¡¡

  • It really is hard to say if it is her or not. Are there pictures around of her at the age of 16?

  • i have a question about meryl, so I thought I try it here on youtube:

in the wikipedia article about her, I read that she nursed john cazale until march 78 and married don gummer in september 78.

did she ever say something about that short time? did she meet don after john's death or wasn't she anyloger enganged to john when he died and just friends while nursing him?

  • to answer your question best as possible, because i guess we will never get to know the whole story: she knew him already before, because he was a close friend of her brother. after john`s death she moved into don`s appartment in new york while he was travelling around europe, but it happend that don came back earlier than expected and he invited her to stay. and obviously they fell in love, but who would not, i mean it`s beautiful meryl

  • Wooow, this doesnt look like Meryl but, well i dont really know:D x

  • its not meryl. meryl looked different this age and was blond not a brunette anymore.

  • Wel, I am not sure she was blonde at this age.

The best way to know would be to find a photograph of her aged 16.

  • even if she wasnt blond this time her face was much smaller. for me its not her. but thats my opinion.

  • i don't think that she was meryl...is really weird,her nose isn't look like meryl's nose...and her hair is brown,very very brown!!!

  • Meryl was there... so were Linda Eastman and Barbara Bach!

  • It must be her....

This little clip (okay little part of this clip) were played at her AFI i think...

  • it looks a lot like her, except for the nose. idk it could go either way

if only meryl could tell us =)

  • My Meryl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't think is Meryl!

  • AMAZING!!!

    Thank You!!!

  • meryl would have been 16 years

  • 1965??? OMG, my mother born's year is 1965!!!!!! Oooh, M-Streep teenager :D

  • Ommmg , where did you get this?!

That doesnt look a whole lot like her but I guess, she did say she went to a Beatles concert.

  • is that her??? well she have the nose.. but im not sure..hahaha

  • I don't know... to me all of those girls look alike. It's very difficult to tell really.

The mouth, nose and the smile (specially when the boy is talking and the girl in question is behind him) are practically the same!...

  • i' think that the girl in the left is 90% Meryl because she looks like her very much . Look at the way she talks ....

  • That's the whole point. Is it or is it not her ?

    Only Meryl could tell.

  • yes . that's right !

  • OMG! She looks like her!

How did you get this video?

  • Can't be her... although this girl actually looks a lot like Meryl in some of her features... well but it's not her.

At age fourteen she took off her corrective lenses, refused to wear dental braces and dyed her hair blonde. "This was my make-over, I played the blonde homecoming queen for several years," Meryl recalled.

  • She's so cute! Lovely was, lovely stayed and will be forever! <3

  • I think that is Meryl. When she says something like "aaa" her voice is JUST LIKE Meryl's.

  • i think it's her. Look at her movies where she's a brunette like in Silkwood or Marvin's Room. That's young Karen Silkwood or young Lee. I think it is .

  • Well we don't agree. There is really 50% of each opinion.

If only Meryl Streep could watch it and tell us if she is the girl or not.

  • i meant 1965 sorry =) and im happy we all agree that that is meryl =)

  • I take that back... she is Meryl!!!! I just saw the video and she is!!!!

  • I think it's her. You can tell more at about :17 onward.

The question is, has she ever mentioned she went to see The Beatles at Shea Stadium?? It seems to me it would be something she would have mentioned, at least once, in the countless interviews she's given.

  • Actually she did mention she was at the Shea Stadium concert in a speech she made to Paul MacCartney lately.

She was a big Beatles fan.

  • Yeah, gapont2, I was just away Googling to see if she did mention the concert. She did indeed. You're right.

The Beatles Shea Stadium concert was in August, 1965. When Meryl presented Paul McCartney with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement award in 1990, she mentioned she was there. Here is the YouTube clip of her stating that:

    watch?v=EE64bGzV2M0

So, that's her in your clip. No way in Hell it's another 16 year old girl that just happens to look and sound like Meryl Streep. It's definitely her.

  • So, Meryl Streep interviewed at the Beatles concert at Shea Stadium in 1965. Her first time on film.

You have a valuable bit of film there, gapont2. I'd copyright it, or whatever you do to claim ownership. And, insure it and keep the original in a safe.

Seriously. Meryl Streep is gonna go down in history as the most important actress of her time. The Beatles as the most important band. You've got a piece of history, there.

  • she was blonde when she was 16, and much more beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • It's NOT her!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I wonder if this was before she broke her nose. It looks kinda different to me.

  • Are u kdding me??? she's definetly not meryl. her face is thiner and she's naturally blonde. Come on and the voice might sound alike but it is just a coincidence. There's not possible way that she's meryl. Believe what u want to believe but the truth is she's not Meryl and u know it very well.

  • but she mentioned being here in 1975...do you really still think that isnt meryl? her cheekbones can't be mistaken.

  • When Meryl presented the Grammy award to Paul McCartney in 1990, she said she went to see the Beatles in New York, in August, 1965. She said she could hardly see the stage, that she remembers them running across the grass to the stage. So, she's definitely talking about their Shea Stadium concert -

    watch?v=EE64bGzV2M0

It's her in this clip. There's no question. Look at her nose/mouth area at around :16 .....it's identical to the way she looks today. The debate is closed, it's her.

  • that so is meryl i can tell.

    the one on the left.

  • wow!! yes she is meryl, she is a 16 years old girl!!!

  • she was sooo youmg! omigoodnesss!!

  • It's definetely her; when the guy asks the girl if the Beatles aren't on their way out she says "No", that's her voice for sure. Not to mention she has Meryl's face, pretty hard to get one alike.

  • deffo?

    omg

    deffintly

  • yh thats deffo meryl the one wearing the hat so sweet =]

  • What is "deffo" ?

    Please write in english.

  • She's not meryl

  • how do you know? x

  • nope it ain't her, Meryl's got a deviated septum the nose is COMPLETELY different.. but I can see where you'd think it was her

  • It's definitelly NOT Meryl. I'm sure, she was much more beautiful.

  • No i swear it is because of the facial features caint you see through out her whople life she has always had the same nose, chin, cheeks and mouth :D

it is her im almost sure

  • Have you seen the vid when Meryl presents Paul McCartney with the Grammy Award 1999? or the Italian Press Conference for "Mamma Mia! the movie"? She talks about being in this concert

  • She looks like her...but it's not her. But she does look like her!

  • That's NOT Meryl Streep!!!!! I showed her the video, and she said, "Wow, I wish I was there!!" No, it's not her. First hand knowledge!!

  • How Did You SHow Meryl Streep The Vid :S ?

  • someone close to her, told me: not is meryl.

  • Meryl is the one wearing the hat to the left of the girl speaking! Look at the smile, the check bones, the eyes - it's Meryl Streep!! Xxx

  • she was, she is and she will always be the most beautiful women I ever know

  • It is not her smile! It is not her face guys! IM SURE.

  • i'm pretty sure that it is meryl.. in 1990 when she presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Paul McCartney, she said in her speech that she saw paul for the first time on a concert in 1965 :D

she looks adorable as always!! <3

  • meryl is the one wearing a hat.

  • just in case anyone is confused... it's not the girl speaking.. it's the one the left. it's definately meryl i think. and the date is correct for her age.

  • She isn't Meryl!

Meryl is much beatiful than these girl

  • uhh yeah it is!

  • Meryl's eyes are completly diferent

  • Definetly it's not her! u can see a picture of her in simplystreep in 1965 and she was completly diferent..meryl was much more beautiful by the way!

  • From 0:15 To 0:17 Wen Her Smile Appears Too You Can See That Its Soo Her She Has Always Had The Same Facial Features From When She Was Little To Now :D

  • BUT, i dont think she looked like that when she was 16, i've seen a picture of her when she was 16 (i think it was 16) and she didnt look that young.

  • at 0:17, you see its her nose and smile.

  • omg! ofc it's meryl! you can see that on her smile and her eyes and ofc her nose!

she is so cute and so beautiful! why didn't the man interviewed her, he should have done that!:-)

  • omfg, that is meryl. she looks so adorable with her hat....that dude should have interviewed her!!!

  • It is 100% Meryl Streep, she was at the concert, look on Wikepedia, she was there.

  • wikipedia hu? so that makes it true ¬¬...

  • If you pause it around :17 - :20, all that is visible are her nose and mouth, and I have to say, the smile looks like her.

  • This is not meryl because when she was 16 she was blonde. it was after her self-proclaimed "transformation"

  • Maybe it is a month before her self transformation ! Why doesn't anybody provide a photograph of her when she was 15 or 16 ? It would end the story.

  • Its In Black And White How Aer You Suppsoe To Know If She Has Blonde Hair HAHAHAHA

    God !

Its Obvs Its Her You Can Tell Through Out Her Whole Life She Has Always Had The Same Chine, Smile And Nose !

  • i think that it is kind of obvious that she doesn't have blonde hair even though it is black and white. and unless she had face reconstruction that is not her

  • How can you tell?

Look at the smile, the nose.

  • Yes Well Maybe She Had A Little Bit Of Weight When She Was Little You Never Know But Shure To God Thats Her It Looks So Alike !!!!

  • her natural color is brunette so she probably didn't have blonde hair lol

  • noooo

  • hey people thats not meryl streep, absolutely not...and do u know louisa gummer(her daughter)??..she said the same and confirmed that!!!!!..so no doubt, thats not mrs meryl:))

  • hi KouKougirl,

how do you know that Louisa Gummer said it is not her ?

  • that is not meryl streep , there id s picture of her online when dhe was 18 , and that does not look like her

  • That's right, i made a mistake. I thought the Beatles concert was in 1967, so she is not 18 but 16.

  • She had turned 16 2 months before

  • wow haha!

    she was BEAUTIFUL :)

    was she 18?

she looked a bit short for 18??

no she must've been about 13,14

    she was great anyhow.

    !x

  • height has nothing to do with age, my mothers is 54 and has been 5'1 since she was 14 years old!

  • woahhh budd that is not meryl streep

  • That's wonderful! Thanks for the video. The only thing is you need to change the date. The Shea concert was in 1965, not 1967 (The Beatles stopped touring in 1966).

  • Her imdb page list this in the trivia section: "Presented Paul McCartney with the 1990 Grammy Lifetime Achievement award. Attended the Beatles concert at Shea Stadium in 1965 with an "I love Paul" sign, which she mentioned when presenting the award to McCartney."

Your title here reflects 1966 - your "more info" description reflects 1967.... I didn't quite see a sign with her but this sure looks to be her! Someone should email her the link here somehow - she'd get a kick out of it.
