Not necessarily. They constantly play with the idea of Dissidia working with the canon of the main series FF games. Cosmos and Chaos can pull anyone from any point in time to fight for them. Which explains Squall and Laguna. But no one in Dissidia is supposed to be the person they became after their journey's end.

@deathdoor I like that theory but my gut says its probably not true. I guess its because it would cause the game to not explain anything that is happening, just provide Squall's subconscious guesses for what he thinks is happening. It has quite a large lazy writing angle in my opinion.

I hated the character designs and, although I will grant that the story was kinda good, I couldn't get myself to care about the characters. Never the less, the music was awesome and the graphics were pretty good too.

And then i played 6 and i couldn't beleave what i missed :) It may not have the best graphics in the world but its so good :)

This is cool! I loved FF8's storyline probably the best out of all of them...but one problem that I had with FF8 was its' simplicity. I mean, you could junction all of your GFs to one person and totally beat the hell out of everything.

I think that if they remake it, they should start the game out as a 1 GF-junction per character max, and then at big points in the game, increase the amount by one until they hit a max of three. That would be cool, at least to me.
