this is a classic i remember seeing them there was some good weed back in that day believe me wish i could go back in time be cause today really sucks
Just bought a Birthday card and this was the song in the card! It says, "You're Cool - You're Funny - You're Smart - You're Unique - You're Thoughtful...just a few of the many things I like about you. Hope your birthday is a great as you are!"
its stupid hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeits so stupid :******** that
saw these guys on valentines day in 1981, in a club in fresno, california. cost 6 bucks to get in. there were maybe 100 people there in the place. this song had just come out about a month earlier. they were fantastic. another great song they did was cover of sonny and cher "the beat goes on". wish I could find that somewhere by them. after that, what happend to the blond bass player?
This and "Party Weekend" were my two Friday afternoon Summer songs.... I would leave an office tower in downtown Boston at 1 pm and by 3:30 I was partying out in the Berkshires .... and these two songs were first up on my cassette player in the car....
I was doing filers for dogwalking and I had this song on and when it got to my fave part I put my pen down and danced! After that I was like ''What Just Happen?''
This guy is really impressive...drumming usually takes a lot more energy out of you and you have to make sure you keep in rhythm, AND he's singing....I definitely couldn't do it.
Dude, they have the same bassline, and similar rhythm guitars. But if there's any stealing or copying, it would be John Mellencamp and his band. "R.O.C.K in the USA" came out in 85". "What I like about you" by the Romantics came out in 79".
So you should go post what you just wrote on Mellencamps "Rock in the USA" video page....If anyone got screwed here, it was the Romantics...
@renc2000 okey bitch the problem is that i was just saying they are the same shit i didnt say which one was the original so dont mess with me,, you dint know who i am
lol...Wow...talk about one of the most DELAYED responses I've ever seen...jeez. It took you 2 whole years to respond back?!!!? What's wrong with you, dude?
" سآخذ كدح" <<<<<What is this? Are you admitting that you're an Arabic homosexual living in mexico? LOL! Get lost, you walking joke...
why, tell me, in saving silverman do they have a neil diamond cover band, and play this song? it doesnt make sense unless hes in the romantics which i dont think is true
Not that unusual. Phil Collins, Don Henley, Ringo Starr, Peter Criss, Levon Helm, Roger Taylor and Dave Grohl. I am sure there are several more but those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
This song will live forever! No shredding solo, no crazy bass-line only playable by Geddy Lee or Les Claypool... just a KILLER groove, unforgettable twangy intro on a classic guitar, and some kick ass mouth harp make anyone alive move something to the beat.
It's great how these guys have a crapload of hits but no one really knows who they are.

This was the first song I learned to sing and play guitar for! I was 11 years old when I learned it, and 12 when I performed for the first time.
What awesome memories!

@IMNOTCRAZY1 I'll say! I think the guitar used in the beginning of the song was a Rickenbacker 12-string.

My problem is that I once suggested to suggest my 20 favourite songs.
In the words of 'Allo 'Allo's Bertorelli: "What a mistaeka to maeka".
Is it too late to put this one in there, too?
Why does a Top 20 have to be only 20 songs?
Why does a 'Top 20,000' suggest that number 20,000 is less enjoyed by me than number 1?
This song, depending on my mood at the time, will continue to enjoy the heights of my personal 'Top 20,000'.
At this moment, it is my 'NUMBER 1'.
Hence my yearning for it.
