Both versions are really good, but different. Drew was more upbeat but nowhere near as clever. And the lighting on the UK one is kinda dark for a comedy show, it's like the bat cave. I laugh really hard at both though :)

I've been watching these in order, and you can tell how Tony transcends himself. He was so calm in the first couple of seasons but here, before he leaves the show in about a year, he is noticeably more hyper. After reading what he went through I felt sorry for him. It was hilarious that he cussed out Clive, but it looks like he regrets it or didn't even know what he did. At 2:32 after Clive tells him he lost his points, Tony looks shocked and asks Ryan something.

@senorfro Yes, indeed. This episode in particular, this piece, it was so clear that he was just falling fast. I mean, maybe that's a hundred times easier to see in retrospect, still...poor old boy. I've seen a bunch of interviews where he mentions an anonymous friend who eventually broke in and staged an intervention. Well, whoever that is, we owe them.

Here they have gravity, a jockey, and a guy who mentions body parts.

In the American version in one episode there is; a guy who talks faster the more he is attracted to the person, an increasingly frustrated french pig hunting for truffles, and Carrol Channing whose head keeps getting stuck to things. Frankly it makes the British version look boring in comparison.

Well you could say the American suggestions are more creative.

But i would just say they are more complex.

The simpler suggestions give the improvisers more freedom and leaves the creativity up to them.

But I found some of the american suggestions (not all) became far too complicated and specific to the point that there was really no room for the actors to be creative.

Whatever the card said, they did, simple as that. No room for deviation.

Of course, as I said, this is not the case with ALL the suggestions. But it did happen more int he american version.

The rehersal was so they could get the camera and light stuff figured out. And this version is edited too...obviously, otherwise they wouldn't have compliations with bits from the other shows. The only problem in the US show was that the censoring went too far at times...like not being able to mention Hitler, or saying Mother. Otherwise, both versions kick ass.
