I just fell exactly the same way during a performance this morning... also before a double saut de basque.. . But i didn't won any international contest though..LOL. Of course as soon as i got home came to "see how i fell"
There's an adage in opera that if a singer accidentally spits on stage, some poor dancer will slip in it and fall. I've seen people on stage vomit, faint, fall, and trip over all kinds of things. The worst is when the audience laughs LOUDLY when a male singer makes an entrance. He always thinks his pants fly is open. It's always something else. I have no end of respect for these great people - what they endure!
Every dancer has had his or her share of slips and falls from time to time. I'd rather see someone who really goes for it, takes a chance and dances with excitement, than someone who always plays it super safe and boring. It's that quality of "dancing on the edge" that makes Julio Bocca (and other such dancers) exciting to watch.
Ok, so he fell. Is there some sort of morbid curiousity involved in posting this? Sort of like "how the mighty have fallen?" Obviously it's irrelevant considering he became one of the most brilliant male dancers of our time. I'm sure the floor didn't have enough resin and became slippery.
Jajaja the remarkable thing is that he won the competition after all. That great he was as performer i saw him dance many times and always felt electrified with his stage-devouring dance..
Yuck, that was terrible. You can tell the floor was very slippery. Perfect placement on a great dancer. But, like Beyonce, he got right back up. LMSIC>.
Painful.

and each dancer falls, and we fall daily or every other day. And no day passes without something hurting on your body or not being bruised.
falling..fine happens..what is funny about it?

Wow, he even falls with style, pay attention at how he turns, stands, and finishes. Amazing, that's why he is great.

this is the same competition where he won the gold in Moscow. he must be that good to still win gold despite a nasty fall.

I think it's because he slipped instead of straight up losing his balance like a noob.
