the prisoner's at Gitmo were part of the international terrorist movement of Al Queada.trained on Afghani soil for international terrorism under the leadership of the outlawed Taliban who turned a blind eye to their activities. What I want to see is the wisdom to keep this open until our military can handle this. We declared war on the terrorists, and that was world-wide. The "prisoners" there are not real prisoners of war,they wear no uniform,and fight for no country.They arent entitled to the laws of the Geneva Conventions,which means the US doesnt have to treat them "humane".Was it humane to fly planes into the WTC? No, sorry, but you're wrong there. duckjm17 is correct in that the ones being held are not being prisinors of war. The Geneva Convention accords of 1954 does not apply to them, but that's not to say they aren't getting food, medical attention and humane treatment.
