  • You guys should really check out Louis(ChickenTiko)'s cover of this, its quite amazing. Its most probably a suggested video on the right, he's only 18 and WILL be famous, he is that good. Like this if you have watched it, so other's can see.

  • Great arrangement performed by an incredible player. GREAT

  • Cant wait for when he comes to my college this semester to play with the jazz bands and give a master class!! He really is incredible!

  • I tried playing this...it didn't exactly work...

  • who disliked this? I WILL FIND U!

  • @terrorrname its that tpstrat14 guy... he trolls maynard and bergeron vidseos because they have extreme range that he is not cappable of. he jelli

  • nice

  • To describe a high note say like c3 or g4 instead of all this super mega g stuff. The lowest note would be an f sharp1, or the lowest non pedal tone note, and then just go from there

  • I look at all of the comments and they are either comments on someone else's comment, too long to bother reading, or both...

  • @bach72star Personally, I call the Top space (Just above the staff) G a high or top G, the same as your notation but this category of "high", or "top" stays until around an F (The space above 3rd ledger line). A super F, this continues until the C (Space above the 6th ledger line), which I then call a double C.

  • Interestingly enough, the key to Maynard's range was taking the Arban's book and trasnposing and playing through the book in normal range, up a third, up a fifth, up an octave, and then up an octave and a third. So don't tell me this bullshit about Maynard creating an ignorance of the Arban method.

  • Also I'm not a assholes ego player or a know it all or blow smoke up anyone's ass .....but I have plenty of letters , emails , pictures , and phone numbers to certain artists...so trust me I know what I need to know

  • Also i have a friend that subs for Wayne his name is chad shoopman which plays this same arrangement the highest written note is a double a ....now we all know every high note trumpet player adds stuff that's not written LOL......p.s. if you want the actual sheet music ...private message me ill be more then willing to share ......also i have about 8 copys of maynards solos parts given to me by Patrick hession about 6 years ago....

  • @bluedevils2002 do you have the complete chart?

  • Forth line above scale g is double g. ......fifth line aboue scale is double c .......got love "Mr professional" trumpet players in comment areas or forums they end up being bigger assholes in person

  • i really love this song i played it to my trumpet teacher and he have played this song with whayne bergeron in germany ;) i was sitting there zoo amazed:D

  • Plain and simple, this is the balls!! At least make sure you listen from 2:00 to the end. Merry Christmas everyone.

  • I can play the octave above that but its just a squeal. I wasnt sure what I was playing at first but I got out my chromatic tuner and it said C 8. I dont think its possible to play that high and it not be a squeal. Its just something to do to show off to friends. Wayne's high note was beautiful though. Made me think of a violin lol.

  • My trombone teacher showed me this today. Gorgeous ♥

  • What note is 2:58? -__-

  • @RedShirtIncorporated It's C7.

  • @ZubinHathiPercussion Also known as a triple D to trumpeters. :)

  • @trumpetplanet It's actually a double D--I play Trumpet. Nice try though! :) First C off the staff is a "high C" so everything in that octave is considered "high." Once you hit the top C in that, you enter "double." It's quite a confusing concept at first haha

  • @spazzydude9 ACTUALLY, once you leave the staff (G), you are in "high" territory. The G above that (4 ledger lines) it becomes "double." The G above that would be known as "triple." Do you know anything about theory?

  • @bach72star Do you know anything about Arban's method and how Maynard Ferguson has inspired an ignorance of this method? lol.... don't even be arguing over this crap when we know that the trumpet shouldn't be played this high anyways....

  • WAYNE BERGERON IS A BEAST! hes 2nd on my list of all time best trumpet player...right after maynard ferguson of course

  • the tea sounds like it's ready

  • @harrykaps13 exactly lol... it's not even fucking music anymore when you play that high.... hate it... the first half was amazing though...

  • @tpstrat14 Oh good grief. You are such a pathetic little buffoon. Dance for me little buffoon dance.

  • @lexidart come on... you don't think it's anything more artistic than watching a steroid juicer bench press 500 pounds, do you?

  • @tpstrat14 Dance!

  • @tpstrat14 Success can be found in overcoming limits. Look at Wayne Bergeron. He overcame the range limit of his trumpet and see how successful he is :) I admit it gets annoying when people just squeal out some "high notes" but Bergeron isn't squealing it out. He plays all those notes, whether growling low or screaming high.

  • @AznLoLStar Yes, don't get me wrong. Wayne Bergeron is 10 times the musician Maynard ever was. He can play beautifully throughout the whole range (AND VOLUME) of the instrument. I definitely respect his playing. It's just that I think I would like him a lot more if he never went past a high E. But I'm serious about Maynard Ferguson... that guy just plain sucked. Loud and high were his only qualities. Any musicality, intention or soul were afterthoughts.

  • @tpstrat14 you just hate extreme range, and its tone is incredible, stop trolling

  • @terrorrname extreme range is ugly... YOU stop trollin

  • @tpstrat14 okay, just to let you know, being able to go higher than your guitar doesnt make him BAD

  • @tpstrat14 and whats YOUR word vs. everybody else who has ever seen this video?

  • @terrorrname nothing, just my strong opinion. You don't have to like it

  • @tpstrat14 I agree for the most part, high notes are usually unnecessary and ugly. But in this instance the high notes are quite beautiful, not at all edgy, and fit in with the major climax of the piece.

  • My music teacher met wayne bergeron and told me that Wayne nicknamed this song "Oh Holy Shit" fun fact

  • What a soloist! What a sensitive accompaniment as well. Brilliant playing, by everyone.

  • Barb Clatin is his gf. and my aunt. thanks for the apology, but calling me a dumb ass IS meaning to hurt.

  • FFIRST OF ALL NOONE GIVES A SHIT WHO HIS GF IS SO STFU AND LISTEN

  • @MrDr143 Thats what we call a OVER-reaction. ;P

  • @MrDr143 And I'm sure Wayne cares who his girlfriend is...

  • @MrIndianarat u r what we call a dumb ass. obviously wayne cares, but we shouldn't. why r u listening if all u care a bout is wayne's gf's is my point

  • @MrDr143 What the hell? I only said it as a fact. I love his music talent and he is a friend. that isnt the only reason im watching it. Why the need to call me a dumb ass?

  • @MrDr143 then i am sry. i was trying to make a point to those people who r arguing about being his girlfriend. i meant no hurt

  • I'll be playing this song (not this arrangement) as a flugel horn feature for my HS band :), this will surely help me sound amazing.. Course I can't do the screaming part he does at like 2:30 something... not just because flugels can't play as high... heh..

  • Divorced.

  • @MrIndianarat He's going to be at Pendleton Heights for a festival here shortly. I'm going to go see him.

  • @MrIndianarat I'd just like to say here that Wayne's been married for nearly 17 years...

  • Wayne is my Aunts's boyfriend!

  • @MrIndianarat .........derp.

  • @MrIndianarat That is true...he is my boyfriend:)

  • My chops explode every time I hear this, and I'm a guitarist.

  • I love the ease with which he nails 2:47 (actually 2:48ish).... it sounds about as effortless as Eric Miyashiro.

  • @keemez If you haven't seen it type in Gonna Fly Now Maynard Fergueson Tribute Band...it's awsome

  • @123456atatta Not only did I see the video, I was live at the concert. :D

  • lol this went from a spiritual song into the most kickass high note performance bya trumpet player!

  • @mastergoss Why does that stop it being a spiritual song?

  • Wow.
