Did this for the first time yesterday, and quickly realised I could just ignore the Rakk attacking me- their attacks weren't enough to get my shield down, and by the time they came around for a second attack, my shield would have recharged. And with a gun that took away about a tenth of the Hive's health with each clip, the bastard was dead in no time. I was a level 31 soldier.

@sillua1 In rust commons east u have to do a quest where you kill some random dude (don't remember his name) but the quest can be taken in the other side of the bridge. Then u can go to trash coast and there's rakk hive. (u knew that by now i think?)

@Rusher4444 yeah i've done it a long time ago. easy boss i have to say. i used a 150 clip assault rifle with no recoil just spraying him. he was dead in a few seconds haha. :)

@yomamabiotchify It explodes because it's a RAKK Hive. If you noticed, the rakk you fight in this batte blow up so when you defeat the hive, the kamikaze rakk blow up inside of it.

Also, I have to say, OP didn't focus on the eyes enough. Use accurate weapons with a high rate of fire, like repeaters, or if you have a high damage sniper rifle use that on the hive and pick off the rakks with the repeater or shotgun.

man i had a beast gun called the corruption hellfire. It is rediculasly fast and does x4 fire damge. Another called the raw equalizer that regenerated ammo. The corruption hellfire was an smg and the other gun a revolver. The smg was oragne and the revolver yellow.

i made a tactic for this boss as a hunter, get a pistol(best would be fast shooting),a high dmg sniper rifle,and a rocket launcher, use sniper to kill eyes and pistol to kill him after eyes die and rocket launcher to kill rakks(note this its worth runing abit away back to kill the rakks
