  • FAKE!!! U can tell cuz the effects move wth the camera!!!!!

  • @iluvdoggies67 Gee, really... well, that's one opinion out of 274,378 people who viewed this.......

  • apple loop

  • @kingsalasi Yes, not a rail loop....

  • @alpalrich is this a real ride?

  • @tEeNaGeWaStElAnDcHiC Like your name, easy to remember.... No, it's just an abandon train tunnel from nearly 100 years ago. There are several in the area. The "ride" is all in the video.

  • Very cool! Spooky for sure. Nice job!

  • @chessie0414 Thanks, hoping to do some more... along this line!!!!

  • Great video! Congratulation! Love the special effects, music and sound effects. Good job!

  • @akosilolo Thanks all a bit of fun....

  • So which way does the South Coast Line go now? (Probably should have checked on Google Earth myself, but thought I'd ask).

  • @JBofBrisbane From Sydney to Wollongong.... and south....!

  • L3me

  • @Morwekful Sure....

  • Wow cool features on your camera there buddy-__-

  • @zjet100 Thanks, all a bit of fun...

  • @zjet100 Thanks, all a bit of fun...

  • esses lugares sao tudo assombrado com almas que já morreram

  • @34122fernando Whatever...!

  • @34122fernando Whatever you say.....

  • I built up so much suspense waiting for something to jump out, then nothing xD

  • @ZexionTheGamer That was possibly the idea.... just a little suspense that has no end....

  • There's no halo around here....

  • i wish all of a sudden, a train would come and run him over :)

  • @ShadowSwordVideo I am sure THAT would be a smash hit on Youtube!

  • That Tunnel was hidden with overgrown with bush the last time I was there back in the 1980's. Boggy too. Nice to see it's been cleared and track relayed. The tunnel was supposed to have been blocked off inside and converted to a water resevoir for the local coal mine. Buggered if I know how that works. There's another tunnel not far from that one just north of Helensburg Station. Thats a shorter one and was locked up at both ends. Looked like it was used for storage or a workshop or something.

  • @grl8862 The tunnel is more derelict now as this video was shot a few years back. The Helensburgh station sign is on it, but seepage now makes it a bit tough slippery going to the entrance. The glow worms are impressive at night and I have a separate video on that where a couple of mates and I go looking for them.

  • To the deleted, not as bad as your language, pal.....

  • Gee, really, but have you ever been there?

  • lol that's no ghost tunnel

  • Amusing......

  • Lucky yoU turned around! That bird was like: "DUDE--DUDE!!! DON'T GO IN THERE!! YOU WON'T COME OUT!!!!

  • WINSTON!

  • 2:56 scared the shit out of me

  • I love the style behind this. I think if it can be done better, with higher quality visuals and sounds, it would be very awesome.

  • @M1911A1 Thanks very much. I know what you mean. I use the Motion Effects in Final Cut Pro and they seem to be too animated for being mistaken as real. Though the video was done about 6 years ago, not exactly an overnight success. But still, all a bit of fun.

  • Thanks for your interesting comment. This is certainly a talked about tunnel.

  • ive walked all the way through there , there is nothing , it goes for about 100 m then the tunnel has collapsed.

  • You have nice video. See my ghost experience.

  • @devicamm Your ghost has to be seen to be believed....

  • Rail Tunnels are creepy even when they are in use. I remember working a train through Totley Tunnel, UK late one night. A ghostly mist was hanging from the roof of the tunnel.

  • @TheMicksterdee Thanks for your insight. An abandon train tunnel anywhere in the world is just as creepy it seems.....

  • Curious comment....

  • Aw a Boston terrier

  • you should make another one of these but like, blair witch style >:)

  • @doctordoctordocism, Thanks for the comments. Check out GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE DEAD LINE there in my playlist called HORROR, CREEPY, SPOOKY AND A LITTLE FANTASY. Also keep an eye out(!) for CEMETERY ROAD, a work in progress with a constant up dating of cast!!!

  • Gee, and I thought they were real....!! It's a movie!!! But don't worry, the truth is out there...!!!!

  • look at those yellow dots in cave. u can see clearly that its edited.

  • Thanks for the comment it was only done as a bit of fun (influenced by the X Files!!) and to make film of an abandon train tunnel interesting. I've checked out your site, it looks good.... will be back for a better bo peep

  • I get what you were attempting...if only it was a real thunder storm...spooky place....thankds for posting !

  • Fireflies or.....

  • Limitations on the effects of Final Cut Pro 6 years ago when I did the video, but the tunnel is real and interestingly all the rest was effects, except the bird and the dog or were they....?

  • @alpalrich are they orbs

  • Well, the glowing things were obviously fake

  • Don't forget to check out HORROR, CREEPY, SPOOKY AND A LITTLE FANTASY PLAYLIST

That also features GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE DEAD LINE and THE DEVIL'S PARTY...... can't put up the link but put that playlist title in......

  • I'm Italia sorry.. Video ok

  • @macpiac No, that's ok... I guessed as much... thanks for your kind comments... isn't it amazing how people can respond from around the entire world to a little video about an abandon train tunnel in place they would most likely never visit...... not even many locals go there!! But the rest of the world has!! Many thanks again...

  • Non e brutto ... Delle foto erano meglio !!!!

  • @macpiac I give up, English or Australian translation please!!!

  • @alpalrich Not bad... picture got better !!!!

  • Now it's full of glow worms at night which is really impressive......

  • The last time I were hear someone had mushrooms growing but that was back in the early 70s

  • hmmm, really.....

  • shit, this was so scary!!

  • Keep it simple, Cedric.....

  • like if you went to the comments first

  • @psycopath204 Whatever you say...!!

  • @psycopath204

    me

just to check if anything was gonna pop up

  • @bethanyrox1106 are u a girl

  • @bethanyrox1106 u like scary stuff

  • wow were they them flies that glow in the dark or are they orbs? I know its a strange question someone as to ask it... thanks !

  • @Electricca2 They are whatever you want them to be.....

  • Con due foto semplificavi il tutto!!!!

  • @macpiac Et tu, Brute?

  • helensburgh tunnel north end

  • It's a very major model of a modern major general type of tunnel!

  • its a modle railroad

  • Not too far, maybe 50 metres or so.

  • How far into the tunnel did you walk? There is only so far you can go before you strike water as this tunnel was used as some kind of dam, and bricked up at the southern end, which is in the grounds of the colliery. I walked sections of this old railway many years ago, but didn't walk too far into any tunnels.

  • Thanks, it was a lot of fun to do. But having Apple's Final Cut Studio Pro sure helped.

  • I enjoyed, great sound effects.

  • Thanks, maybe I should have called it THE DOWNUNDER FILES.....

  • CREEPY!!!

  • Yes and replaced with a nearby new track and cutting throughout the hilly terrain way back in the 1930s or earlier.

  • Is it abandoned?

  • Must of this film takes place in the imagination. You oughta check out GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE DEADLINE!! And many thanks for the comment.

  • i kept bracing for something to jump out at me, nice work :)

  • pretty bird at 1:46

  • Thanks, sounds like you enjoyed it.....You should check out my GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE DEADLINE...... and I'm also working on another little creepy flick, CEMETERY ROAD.....for the New Year...

  • That was...creepy.

  • nie bird at 1:05

  • Thanks, you can find THE DEVIL'S PARTY on my Youtube Channel. Though this seems not to let me put that channel into a comment. I'll thrown alpalrich in as a tag.

  • Nice film mate. Youve got to put another tag on your Devils Party thing. There are too many vids w those key words. I cant find it.

  • Oh, yes, it has become very popular and originally I did have a much more type of horror idea behind it, but couldn't get very far with the idea, however, I was certainly able to create this little video. Which is also why I did GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE DEAD LINE... about another abandon tunnel in the area.

  • this is a great ideal for horro movie.

  • we have somthing like this near whare we live you can see the light at the end of the tunnle

there must be a lot of abandoned train lines with spooky old tunnles

  • Thanks for the comment. This is all a bit of fun and must be liked for the number of hits so far.

  • This is cool, i remember seeing old/disused railways around NSW, i visited when i was about 5 yrs old even as a kid this stuff was fascinating lol, thanks.

  • Beautiful video.

  • Thanks for the comment... great for Helensburgh.

  • Been in that tunnel, lots of glow worms and bats

  • Sure have, but not all the way. The Ghost Tunnel - Glow Worm video shows more the inside. The tunnel in Ghost Tunnel 2 - The Dead Line is more... creepy inside....... though in both you can go that far in.

  • ever tried going in the tunnel?

  • As you go to the station, and turn where the electricity sub station is as you go to the car park, the old tunnel is directly behind you down a cleft in the hill behind you. You have to walk in a little bit, then it's revealed.

  • where abouts in helensburgh is this

  • Chuck Norris Villa.

  • Thanks, I did have an idea for it but couldn't get anyone keen to be in it... they must've got scared!!!! Actually I've placed some of my other little horror type movies on my Youtube channel... one, THE DEVIL'S PARTY features a very realistic human sacrifice and not for the squeamish!!

  • Interesting script for a Horror Movie !?

  • The old tunnel (plus another one) are/ is located near the present rail station at Helensburgh, New South Wales.

  • where is that it is very pretty there

  • The tunnels (there are 6 in all) closed 30th May 1915. So would guess a short time before that. Have a look at the longest tunnel that went to Stanwell Park where the rail line became the main road, Lawrence Hargrave Drive, in my GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE DEAD LINE which I just put up.

  • When did the last train pass through here? Must have been sometime ago!

  • Maybe it's the point of view from the ghost trying to hold an earthbound object....!!!!

  • Nice video but, do you think you could look into leasing that camera harness where you can 360 around the camera but it stays still? The up and down of you walking sort of ruins the "ghost tunnel" effect. But I liked your special effects, especially the little glowies in the dark.

  • The actual rail line you see going into the tunnel was apparently placed there by diligent people of the Helensburgh Historical Society. It only goes in a short distance and stops. What would be better with tunnels that people can walk through, should become tourist icons with boardwalks and subtle lighting. But authorities are usually party poopers when it comes to such things.

  • You could build an railcar for fun and run it there...

  • I saw Picnic At Hanging Rock when it first came out...... half way through the movie someone let out a big yawn and the audience cracked up with laughter. I'm afraid there's no influence here on this, but certainly the X Files. PS To me the gals just shot through to somewhere else. Thanks for the info and I would say you were quite right. The tunnel you speak of will be in my fun sequel, GHOST TUNNEL 2- THE DEAD LINE....!!

  • You watched Picnic at Hanging Rock too many times!

But seriously, in some of the very long tunnels - Woy Woy being one - passengers used to be affected by the poisonous gases from the coal burners. Carbon Monoxide and Hydrocarbons being some. My wife's Grandfather used to be a driver on the south coast line and they used to cover their heads with a dampened wheat bag while in Otford and probably this very tunnel. The line was rerouted in 1890's.

  • This was abandon in the early 20th Century because this tunnel and a few others in the area couldn't allow trains to cope with the time the ten. The trains would chug out so much smoke that the passengers would end up getting sick from it. Well, that's what you get when you don't have electrification and air conditioning, bugger! There was also the grade. So the line was reformed through the ruggered terrain. Keep an eye out for GHOST TUNNEL 2.... yes, we have another one coming up.

  • Hi, VERY nice video!

When was this line abandoned and why?

    Thanks, and greetings

  • You would be joining the rest of the spiders... or glow worms or..... well, you'd have to try and spend the entire night in there to find out what else is in there.....

  • i wanna go there so much it would be my little run away place

  • Thanks, kindly. There's a couple of more tunnels nearby, and where the train line ran through nearby Stanwell Park. That line was moved to a higher area but the old line ran was turned into a road, Lawrence Hargrave Drive which fascinates me each time I drive a long it. I guess watch out for GHOST TUNNEL 2 - THE GHOST LINE in the near future. Meanwhile check out the other GHOST TUNNEL - GLOW WORMS where some mates and I explore at night the glow worms.... it was spooky when we done it!

  • Thats very period, very creepy, the best music to a great video, you should travel around and have a go at it mate, try and make some money, peple and kids love this kind of stuff, good on ya from a bloody Pom

  • Hmmm, really....

  • SHIT!! THAT WAS SCARY!!!

  • May i ask, How is this a ghost video cause i didnt see anything spooky but great vid though :)

  • @Ambercalmusic Ah, yes, you may ask..... The Tunnel itself is perhaps the Ghost, buried inside this hill. Once upon a time such luminaries of the period like the writers Robert Louis Stevenson (Treasure Island) and DH Lawrence (Lady Chatterley's Lover) travelled to destinations down the South Coast of New South Wales when visiting Australia. At night, the tunnel, with the right amount of imagination, is very spooky as can be seen in my film on the glow worms that are in there. X Files?

  • @alpalrich Thank you!:D

  • Thats a cool tunnel to go alone at night

  • The tunnel is at Helensburgh, New South Wales, Australia. About 50 mins south of Sydney and adjacent to the Royal National Park.

  • Where is this tunnel ?

  • What is that black bird in the film? We don't have anything like that here in Canada :(

  • Sorry, I missed your question from a week ago. The bird is a lyrebird and nests around the tunnel. Sometimes they are referred to as a "bush turkey'.

  • @alpalrich @spookespook - That must be a female lyrebird. The males are much more spectacular. Not to be confused with the brush turkey (or scrub turkey) which is a completely different bird.

  • The only trouble is the tunnel is over 1 kilometre long and full of junk along the way making it a bit dangerous walking. Though the glow worms (see separate movie) do make it spectacular.

  • If was me , i was going to the end of that tunnel , like i do with other kind of "tunnels"....mmmm...

  • Limitations of the special effects then available on the Final Cut Studio Pro....

  • Not bad, but the headlight in the tunnel at the end was flat out unrealistic. (No offense intended.)

  • Not bad, but the headlight in the tunnel at the end was flat out unrealistic.

  • And at least I make my video's or use allowable material, and not have it blocked like yours...!!

  • You were expecting GONE WITH THE WIND?

  • boring

  • pussy go in

  • "to (too) hard"???? I would like to think it's better than 30 seconds of a shaky video of someone's holiday....!!

  • no offence but you just tried to hard thats all.

  • You got to remember, it's a film of a disused train tunnel. Not exactly action packed. So special effects and stereo sound create atmosphere with a viewer's imagination supplying the rest.

  • Can't please everyone......

  • yawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good job wasting nearly five minutes of my life

  • @digitalm16 I'm glad it's useful for something.....

  • is this the miley tunnel?

  • @killerkrosser Wouldn't know, sorry...

  • looks like beginning tunnel of thomas and his friends

  • I could make a awesome hosue outa that

  • A strangely haunting video, good special effects.

Is that Helensburgh is Scotland? If so I am only about 25-30 miles east of this tunnel.

  • @MissLadyboy007 Sadly no, it's Helensburgh, New South wales, Australia

  • A strangely haunting video, good special effects.

  • at 1:11 i was expecting micheal jackson's face to jump out of the tunnel. don't ask....

  • It's called a GHOST TUNNEL so people's imaginations can work it out for themselves.

  • Dud pretty cool effects, I loved the movie

  • If you want to see more on this "GHOST TUNNEL" have a look at GLOW WORM TUNNEL where a couple of mates and I going exploring into the depths of the tunnel for the fantastic glow worm colony.

  • nice video very beautiful setting

  • How do you get there? Can you give directions?

  • @FlyLady13 You just go down Tunnel Rd at Helensburgh and as you turn to go to the station, right behind you is the original cutting where the tunnel is.

  • wait a minute i hear a story about this tunnel there was a train crash n on the date of the accident you can hear people screaming for help

  • @MrAshonicko Perhaps a good one for the X Files....

  • @alpalrich lol maybe but i swear it is lol

  • @alpalrich Why is it a GHOST TUNNEL???-Respond to this comment

  • What kind of bird is that at 1:05?

  • @trainman1537 That would be a lyrebird ( or commonly called a bush turkey).

  • Yeah, I know what you mean, the ghosts were there but they showed up as these damn spots.... I guess even ghosts can pixilate!

  • those dam white spots make it hard to see the ghosts.

try a different camera next time!

  • Very well put together. I walked the old Glow worm tunnel at Newnes about 10 years ago, love old places like this, good on ya mate

  • @goff8128 thanks for the comments. It' s all a bit of fun. I, too, also have walked the Newnes tunnel back in the 70's and took a Standard 8mm of that. I intercut historical scenes of the area with the then current state they were in. One day when I get that film transferred to video I'll put it up. I have a separate video up on the glow worms in the Helensburgh tunnel as well.
