  • I LOVE buscuits.

  • @jfsfrnd Me too!

  • Hey Kook, Im gonna make these again but wondering can I form them into biscuits and put in fridge and cook later, will they be ok?

  • @pandmonium2k7 Hi Gary. Yes they can be frozen. Your correct in shaping them first then freezing. They defrost easily enough too as an hour on the counter should do the trick. My mum would do this all the time with bread, cookie, pastry and biscuits. Saves a bit of time.

Have a great day mate! cheers, KtC

  • @kooktocook

  • I fucking love you.

  • @andycantu14 Thanks :D

  • Qu''est ce que ça fait envie!!!! Je sens la bonne odeur de pain chaud à travers mon écran....

  • @agnesdeque Soft mais croquants. Ils cuire jusqu'à Nice réel. Désolé, mon français est pauvre.

    cheers, KtC

  • @kooktocook On the contrary you write well in french The most important is that you're a great chef .And my englisn is not very good ...So ...égalité!

  • @kooktocook merci, Scolaires et des visites en France. J'habite tout près de Québec. Je dois parler plus.

    cheers, KtC

  • are you a guy or girl? also where did you get the name

  • @ballietbran Male. The wife is Lady Kook and sometimes she shows a few of her recipes here. cheers, KtC

  • Mine still don't look as nice as yours :(

  • I made my sausage gravy, its pretty much same as yours

  • I just made these and they are great!! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • @pandmonium2k7 Are ya going with the gravy or just a bit of jams/ butter? mmmm Happy you liked them. A basic recipe that works everytime. Thanks for the feedback! KtC

  • Those would go great with a huge country fried steak!

  • @mehquig WOW! Would it ever. A natural combo there. I like them with many gravies or just with a bit of butter or jam. Yep, go well with the steak. cheers Andy! KtC

  • I'm going to have to make these tomorrow again after a trip to the grocery store...I think I was missing something that was important.

  • @GailPCooke I must go to the grocers daily. I like things fresh so I pop in there most days. Best to stock up on the essentials though. cheers! KtC

  • I shamefully admit that I haven't made them the "old fashioned" way for years. You inspire me to dig out the rolling pin and find something resembling a biscuit cutter.

  • @anmoose I have used the bisquick at times (I'm human too). They tend to be heavier though and not much room to change the recipe much. When I have the time I whip them up homemade (the vid). I like them a bit lighter plus I find the colour and basic appearance nicer than the bisquick variety. Yep, get the rolling pin out and a glass for the shapes. mmmmm Can you not smell them already filling up your home :)

    cheers Moosie! KtC

  • You could put cheese in these...

  • @GailPCooke mmmmm cheese! Thanks for sharing. KtC

  • Pass the butter please ........!!!!!

  • @bowhunter2439 I like them with jelly too!

  • Looks like little cakes to me then cookies :)

  • @stavros500 Here in Canada cookies are biscuits/ crackers (as most places, Sweden included). However, in the U.S. biscuits are like a cake so to speak, as you pointed out (similar but different than scones). We kind of class them as a bread roll but more heavier.

    You knew that though :)

    KtC

  • @kooktocook Yeah lol :P

  • It's hard to beat a breakfast of home made biscuits and sausage gravy, with hot sauce on top. Thanks Kook!

  • @mrbr549 Certainly a filling breakie. I like the hot sauce on top at times too. cheers! KtC

  • Omgoshh, That looks so awesome D:

Ran out of flour at my house...and it's also passed midnight. -sad-

  • @Silverstarlightt Off to the gorcer in the morning are you? :) KtC

  • I like the one in the middle of the batch, that one's the puffiest :D lol Anyway great recipe, you made it look so easy.

  • @LadyofTheSummer lol I think I grabbed that one first. It was the biggest and odd one out. cheers, KtC

  • What type flour? Bleached self rising?

  • @pandmonium2k7 Hello fellow cook. I used a simple all-purpose flour for this one. However, pretty much any flour can be used. Typically a cake type flour is used for biscuits. cheers, KtC

  • Great recipe added it to my favorites !

  • @angelwings500 a nice one to have handy. cheers, KtC

  • looks good hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Make something healthy for a change?

  • @legoman762005 Not much unhealthy about these biscuits. cheers, KtC

  • ooh! Just made them..turned out awesome! Thanks for the recipe.

  • @vimslacy Anytime! cheers, KtC

  • They look great!! Have to try these, thanks

  • @pandmonium2k7 A tasty biscuit. I like them with a bit of jam. KtC

  • sounds like the perfect sunday breakfast ... country biscuits and praline mustard bacon. :D

  • What goes good with these biscuits?

  • @FlimsyCardboard Freaking gravy!

  • @FlimsyCardboard Jam, jelly, butter ... Often in teh U.S. south served up with a sausage gravy (see next). I like many ways, just a side at dinner is nice. KtC

  • YES! I wanted someone to make a video on this

  • @llam89 Hi Linda! Nice biscuit to try. Anything pretty much goes with them. cheers, KtC

  • @kooktocook Yes, these certainly beats the Pillsbury dough boy anytime!

  • Damn nice man!!

  • @TheVittleVlog Thank you Rick! KtC

  • @StudioKimbo lol cheers, KtC

  • I've been wanting to make biscuits for months. The ONLY thing stopping me is that I can't find any circular cutters in any of our stores. I feel like I either need to make some dinosaur-shaped biscuits, or I'm SOL!

  • @Fork501 I was going to make a notation on any shape cutter would work as long as you do not mind (as you stated) dino-biscuits. lol

Just use a glass cup that has approximately the correct diameter (not too big/ small). I actually use them more than this cutter. cheers, KtC

  • @kooktocook And I didn't see that part of your response...I should have read the whole thing hehehehe

  • @Fork501 Couldn't you just use a cup or glass to make the circular shape? Why buy something if you're only going to use it for one purpose?

  • awesome!

  • @Maangchi So eay to prep. Not sure why folks buy them pre-made. I guess just busy. Thanks Maangchi. Have a great day! KtC

  • I like how your making so many videos! :D have you ever thought of doing a episode marathon, a new episode everyday?

  • @18p324 I have done that at times. This week is nearly one a day. The videos take more time to produce though. I'm not just shooting and posting as others may do. A few hours work for each one and only when I am up to it. I would be doing it full time and that won't work with the other things in my day to day existence. Also, some vids. are missed as not everybody checks in daily. Thank you though, I would if I could :)

    KtC

  • Sausage gravy? Good god no.

  • @Jordcuk It does go well with the biscuits. cheers, KtC

  • mmmm, looks good. would butter work instead of shortening?

  • @pberglin Yes as long as it is chilled and not soft. I use both for my results. The shortening does make a difference. There are a few variations to biscuits but most do use shortening. A dozen biscuits divided by 2 tbsp. Not very much per serving. cheers! KtC

  • oh heck yes, make sausage gravy

  • @fireblind SOON!

  • yummie!!!! now how bout some sausage gravy to go with that! : )

  • nom nom nom nom nom

  • @mikedelgado8888 yep, that sums it up! KtC

  • you are the god of food

  • @randomd00ds That would be nice. I would at least see that everyone gets fed! Thank you, KtC
