@pandmonium2k7 Hi Gary. Yes they can be frozen. Your correct in shaping them first then freezing. They defrost easily enough too as an hour on the counter should do the trick. My mum would do this all the time with bread, cookie, pastry and biscuits. Saves a bit of time.
@kooktocook On the contrary you write well in french The most important is that you're a great chef .And my englisn is not very good ...So ...égalité!
@pandmonium2k7 Are ya going with the gravy or just a bit of jams/ butter? mmmm Happy you liked them. A basic recipe that works everytime. Thanks for the feedback! KtC
@mehquig WOW! Would it ever. A natural combo there. I like them with many gravies or just with a bit of butter or jam. Yep, go well with the steak. cheers Andy! KtC
I shamefully admit that I haven't made them the "old fashioned" way for years. You inspire me to dig out the rolling pin and find something resembling a biscuit cutter.
@anmoose I have used the bisquick at times (I'm human too). They tend to be heavier though and not much room to change the recipe much. When I have the time I whip them up homemade (the vid). I like them a bit lighter plus I find the colour and basic appearance nicer than the bisquick variety. Yep, get the rolling pin out and a glass for the shapes. mmmmm Can you not smell them already filling up your home :)
@stavros500 Here in Canada cookies are biscuits/ crackers (as most places, Sweden included). However, in the U.S. biscuits are like a cake so to speak, as you pointed out (similar but different than scones). We kind of class them as a bread roll but more heavier.
@pandmonium2k7 Hello fellow cook. I used a simple all-purpose flour for this one. However, pretty much any flour can be used. Typically a cake type flour is used for biscuits. cheers, KtC
@FlimsyCardboard Jam, jelly, butter ... Often in teh U.S. south served up with a sausage gravy (see next). I like many ways, just a side at dinner is nice. KtC
I've been wanting to make biscuits for months. The ONLY thing stopping me is that I can't find any circular cutters in any of our stores. I feel like I either need to make some dinosaur-shaped biscuits, or I'm SOL!
@18p324 I have done that at times. This week is nearly one a day. The videos take more time to produce though. I'm not just shooting and posting as others may do. A few hours work for each one and only when I am up to it. I would be doing it full time and that won't work with the other things in my day to day existence. Also, some vids. are missed as not everybody checks in daily. Thank you though, I would if I could :)
@pberglin Yes as long as it is chilled and not soft. I use both for my results. The shortening does make a difference. There are a few variations to biscuits but most do use shortening. A dozen biscuits divided by 2 tbsp. Not very much per serving. cheers! KtC
I LOVE buscuits.

Fork501 1 year ago
@Fork501 I was going to make a notation on any shape cutter would work as long as you do not mind (as you stated) dino-biscuits. lol
Just use a glass cup that has approximately the correct diameter (not too big/ small). I actually use them more than this cutter. cheers, KtC
kooktocook 1 year ago
@kooktocook And I didn't see that part of your response...I should have read the whole thing hehehehe
