There is one important thing which nobody mentioned:

You have to be connected with the cable (obviously) BUT the phone/ipad should also be charged through the same cable, otherwise it will not be possible to enter DFU mode.

You can enter into DFU mode also without to be connected to the compurter.

Important is that you are charging the device on your wall charger and then use the DFU procedure. After that you can disconnect it from charging and connect it to the computer and start JB

This doesn't work for me, everytime I try to go into dfu mode the apple symbol comes in way to fast and by the time I let go of the power button its already in recovery mode. @MrDav10 The simplest way to exit out of DFU mode is to hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons on the iPad while connected to iTunes. Then just hit the power button as and this should reboot the device as usual.
