@lioncircleantilope Have you thought about checking out the other series or movies, If your sci-fi fan i believe you would like the star trek universe, The Next Generation, is classic, Deep Space 9 saw a different kind of Star Trek with serious Opposition, and Voyager was GREAT, even the remastered old series with Kirk is worth checking out with the new space scenes, laterz :)

the "best" part of ToR an unfinished game still in beta with no guild banks or exchage item slot filter annoyingly buggy,they should be paying people to play it, the "best" part..the companion system..but thats it the rest is either shit or you have seen it over and over already. bollocks to father superior lucas with his incest & chopping off things fetish, but you can have companions/slaves/officers now on here hah, and its here, not here pretending to be far far away,lucas originalty lol

thats it i have had it with ToR! it is shite! it is going! it is disney owned flith with thier 'hopes' and 'lucks' and 'destinies' and 'fates' none stop in the dialogue its sickening & they made a promo vid saying ''ohhh look you can have guild banks soon'' as if that something marketing fucks fantastic but should of been standard..no item slot filter on the player market system, PVP you have a 50/50 chance of getting award tokens/commendations whatever i didnt even go near pvp ><nice trailer

This game is no where near as bad as people say, I'm so clueless about StarTrek despite watching it a lot when I was a child, I was never really a Trekie. However this game is not as bad as most reviewers declare, I mean it's just a Startrek MMO, it does not seem worse than other MMO's I've played, it's not the best ya, but it's no where near "BAD" It is better than any other scifi movie/TV show MMO I've played so far. hehe

@livekid24 its a sensitive game. Try turning any video/music player off and if that doesnt work try turning everything else off.

Also if u have xfire, be sure to disable in-game support. It crashes the game.

There has been a lot of hate toward STO, mainly it's interface, but I rarely see anything I don't like about it that makes it less of a good game. I've seen gameplay of the P2P STO and I think F2P is a great improvement, especially since there are less objectives that say "Defeat Enemy Squadrons (0/5)". And above anything, it's Star Trek. If they can just step up the plot level to the level of this trailer, it would be magical.

STO is awesome! They've made a lot of improvements and the F2P model is great (not like other systems that force you to subscribe if you want to do anything). If you want some awesome space battles and much improved ground combat, give it a try. There's nothing to lose.

And the game itself has changed alot compared to launch and yes it is pretty much pay to win now but most of us STO players that has been playing since launch predicted that and they were true.

@Alual66 So far, cryptic's f2p system has been good, I originaly joined Champions online when it went to f2p, and imo, that's been the best setup of a f2p format I've seen, you can actually enjoy the game, not just a highly restrictive water downed shell of the game.

Hopefully they have the same thing going for Star Trek Online.
