I used to help every one that I could on the road but these days you pull over to help someone change a tire and you might end up robbed and shot in the back but I sure do miss the good old days.
I've loved this song for more than 10 years!Great lesson! Also met David Lee Murphy, the nicest guy ever..Tall man..6'4" and those blue eyes...they are real!!!
I always think of my mom when i listen to country music my mom wanted me to listen to it and i still do and ever since i listened to this i always liked country music.
This is what country should be about....country used to be about life, and being there for your fellow man...it should still be that way...I'm going to raise my kids the old country way, and watch them grow...I miss music like this...
my old friend jay copied this song to a tape for me back in 07...i was pretty young then....i was only 13 but we were great friends...we used to ride mines down the road out of carlisle and to this mountain miles away...we used to campout with my old boombox and sit by the fire listening to this kind of old music....most of the time we had his dads tapes but since i helped paint peace symbles all over the walls in his room this was his way of saying thankyou...man i miss him....
I love this song, but I think it's hilarious that he has the hood up even though he knows he's out of gas. Maybe he's out of gas because he didn't know where to put the nozzle in the truck at the gas station??? haha :) Great song, great artist though -- grew up on this music!! :)
@rachellaanne1987 one with carbureted engine if u run out of gas you have t put some gas in the carb to get it running and two the hood up is a known sine saying im broken down. i have ran out of gas in my 1983 dodge ram more than once (my gas gauge dosnet work) and every time someone has stoped and helped me out
This is a great song and we need to care more about each other and less about wealth, wants and power. We cannot survive as a society for very long if we look at every situation as "whats it in for me".
Jesus taught his followers that what we do for the least of our brothers we unto him and the Golden Rule that is the basis if all moral law states the same in a slightly different way.
This song is so beautiful and the video is amazing. It is so awesome it brings tears to my yes things about God's love and how much God love's people. Ron Paul 2012
This world would be better off if all people lived this way! Be willing to help someone you don't know how much it might mean to them. You never know when you might need a hand. I have been there! Thanks to all the kind people in Hazard, Ky. for helping a family you didn't know when my car almost slid over a hill side and complete strangers went to get a chain to hook to a pickup truck to pulll my car back onto the road and never asked for a dime!

I have never passed by a stranded person....if I did....I may be sentencing them to death.....and if it were me and my family....I would want the help....I have NEVER accepted payment and never will....I simply tell them to ....pay it forward.
This is what we do out in the country. Help each other out, go to arms length to help in anyway we can and you know what........ it goes along way. So today, when you go out, help someone else out! Thats what americas about people! God Bless
does any body know the name of a groupeim not sure if they are native or aborigene but i know it was popular in the 80 or 90 im looking for that song they are tree guy i think
I thought of this song from my childhood, today, when I stopped to give a jump to some guys on my lunch hour on the road by my work. Last June my car had died on that same road, in the same spot, and a couple had stopped and helped me push my car and get it started. =]
he should have had more exposure, he really had talent, lol great eye candy too, but even not seeing him and just listening he has an awesome voice, down to earth lyrics, real home vavles, miss hearing him
hardly anyone helps anyone anymore. my dad used to but he has since had to stop. was just told before his birthday last month he is legally blind. dad always took pleasure in helping people.
You know, Christ told us to help one another, he was spotted doing this while he was here, the worlds a better place when we help one another without expecting anything in return.
havent herd this song till today and i ccant stop listing to it and my grandfather told me to naver leave anybody stranded and i still live by that rule and i always will
@jpstude i hear you i was raised where you treat people the way you want to be treated. i still live by it too 41 years later. guess our parents knew something huh. i love mine to death.
His voice is just great- smooth, no frills- just natural! I wonder why he didn't become a big deal back in the 90s.; his songs ring true. If someone has the gift, then they have it!
This song help me. I was in a very tough place. And i called my friend he came and bail me out. When i try to pay him he said no. He told me if i wonder why he wouldnt accept the money he said listen to this song Thanks GUS
I love this song. Reminds me so much of my dad. He used to say "Helpin' people isn't an option, it's your duty. Never pass anyone by." I still live by it 58 years later.
@jpstude oh yes i remember them days my dad never left anyone on the road but now it is an different life style of of flok. dont get me wrong still a few left. but i fear to stop when i see someone on the road cause i know they are as afriad of me. lord bless us good we pray for the bad. silverh45
@jpstude Same goes for me, I live in eastern Canada and its not uncommon to see a car off the road in a snow storm, that old Dodge has saved a few folks.
Very much like Clay Walker's "Chain of Love." I like the flashbacks to his childhood. It demonstrates how those early lessons stay with us throughout our life.

Hello Everyone! =)
Whereas millions of people have this same kind of dream, I'm trying to get help through YouTube to achieve it.
I've loved music and I just want other people to hear me.
Become a professional singer, it’s difficult but not impossible.
It’s my dream? To make it big and have people like and listen to my music.
I’d love if you just give me a chance and stop by my channel. Also if you could thumbs up this comment so other people can see it
Your view could do one big change.
