@UrBabygirl22197 The kit is a Yamaha DTXPress Special IV electric drum kit and I got them from some online drums tore about 2 years ago now. And you're welcome about the drum lessons, I'm glad I can help! Rob
Quick question. I recently received an Alesis DM6 kit, but for some reason the kick pedal "bounces" on the drum, making an annoying bounce sound not unlike a roll on a snare. Any way to fix this?
I have been playing just as a hobby for about a year, so i don't know much other than the beats in your first 3 videos, drumrolls and so, so i haven't exactly progressed that much in a year. I have learned 2 new beats just today cause of your videos, thanks alot!
I'd like to learn the song Jimmy Eat world - Hear You Me on drums, any chance you can reply to me with how it's built? Like how many counts, and what to play on what counts?
@CocoPopsGoneGay Hi Johan, thanks for the drum love and I'm glad my videos are helping you! I'm afraid that what you ask of me about the Jimmy Eat World song would just take too much of my time. I'm sorry I can't help you on this particular song but you will find plenty of other songs to take a look at on my website. Happy drumming to you! Rob :)
OMG you are the best teacher i have seen on youtube! See the truth is i haven't even started playing drums yet im getting them on my birthday but i am writing down alot of these things so i will be ahead when i get them i feel so good knowing all these things i love being prepared and i cant thank you enough! :)
Very helpful vid, quick question though, when should i move on to the next beat? or should i just practised a few different ones at the same time? should i master one before i move on to the next?
@linkin233 Hey there, great question! I think it's possible to be practising several beats at the same time but I always recommend that you take one at a time. Move on once you feel that you can play it fist time, say eight times in a row. If you get bored though then of course feel free to move on to the next. I used to practice technique, songs, sight reading and groove structure all in the same day when I was studying, so there's no harm in a bit of multi tasking to keep practice interesting.
@Shaysailor Sorry dude, the sound quality on these videos is really poor. My later videos have much better sound though! Thanks you for the compliment and happy drumming to you!
overhere i looked for lessons but I was the only woman in lesson one, and all eyes were on me, like what the hell she is doing here? :-) So i decided to look online and yess I found your lessons. You are a great teacher!! Your explanation are so clear and I love the fact you show how to play it slowly. Just awesome, even untill in belgium you made someone very happy today! Glad to learn from you online! Thank you!

Hi @BNJKHAN! Thank you very much for your kind words! Just under half of all the drummers I teach are female and a couple of them are my best pupils! One girl I teach has only been playing for six months and blows me away with how good she is!! Don't let ANYONE ever tell you that girls can't drum. Good luck with your drumming and let me know how you get on? Happy drumming!
I really enjoyed how you set this tutorial up. I just started learning to play the drums in the last 2 to 3 weeks. It was nice to see a pattern played at different speeds and I like how you explained the written pattern and played it so slowly in the beginning. Great job!
I tryed out for drum lessons from a man who advertised at my school. He refused to teach me or the other 3 girls who showed up, said "boys only. music is a mans world, drums are a mans instrument" I've been learning from your videos, I was told at school the other day by one of the boys being taught by the man, that i am now way ahead of all them, and a much better drummer.
You really are a great teacher. I find you explain things very well.
@LittleD3 I'm so pleased that I've been able to help show that girls can play drums too. Some of my best students are female drummer! Keep up the practice and thank you for your lovely compliments.
Well, I'd have a little more respect for him than calling him "dude" but you are right that he's got mic problems. He mentioned it to me when I said something in Part 1. He's trying out different mics or something.
