  • I watched this video cos I was interested in the sound of the amp but when you started playing I totally forgot about the amp and was blown away by your playing, mind-blowing dude!

  • Hi. Can you tell the name of intro song? Also, do you know whats the difference between guitar and harp amps? Wonder if I can hook up mine harp to some marshall and get a good sound..

  • @Dalsir1 Zipper performed by me the band is called The Bluescasters , there is actually no difference between a harp and a guitar amp, but some amps sounding better for harp then others, i have no expierience with Marshall amps , sorryl

  • thanks for the great vids I find them very enjoyable and helpful, your playing is superb too. I just wanted to ask what is your favourite amp and mic?

  • @jimmypinch i got two favorite mics, one is a 1981 Astatic JT 30 with original 151 element, the other one is a JT -30 shell from the 50's with a Shure CM element , depending on the amp i play i choose between those two mics, my favorite amp is a "Frankenstein" Bassman i put together from different parts i had this one is for bigger venues, for small gigs i use mostly a 50's Gibson GA-6 which is almost identical to a Fender Deluxe amp

  • @Harpsucker that's great thanks very much for the info, you use the proper gear I see.

  • Hi HarpSucker, Where´s the impedance transformer into the amp and you use de EV RE 10? It´s a low-Z mic!

    A lot of blowing

    G.S. [:::]

  • its a inline transformer that is connected straight to the mic, check google there are 5 different inline Shure transformers for different connectors, works very well with all low impedance mics

  • Alright, thanks for response

  • I must say, the original vintage Fender Champion 5F1 sounds MUCH BETTER than the new generation re-issue that came out in 2006. To be really fair, it would be nice to hear the 2 amps on the same video; same mic/harp ... but so far from what I've heard, the original Champ just has something 'special' about it. Back in 1992 I played for a few minutes on a late 50's Champ that the owner bought from Rod Piazza. Hearing that sound was something that really impressed me. I've got to get one!!!

  • The JT-30 sounds great but the RE-10... wow... that's some quality sound it makes! Beautiful demo by the way. Always loved the vintage champ tone.

  • Wow. What element is in that JT30. Blows the re10 away

  • thats an original Astatic MC 101 element i dont know the year but its old, maybe 50th

  • I'm having feedback issues my green bullet. I plat it through a fender blues deluxe 40 watt, is there anything you can suggest to reduce the feedback?

  • there are different pro mods available, the easiest way is to change the first preamp tube toa 12AU to lower the gain,

  • mager003 you will get bad feedback problems with most modern guitar amps using HI Z Mics you will need to get your amp toned down & voiced for Harp. maybe a Kinder Feedback pedal will help. all the modern amps i have tried have been too tiny & have had too much feedback unless you plug a Guitar into them

  • I'm having feedback issues with my green bullet. I play it through a Fender Blues deluxe 40 watt. Is there anything i can do to reduce the feedback, espically for live shows?

  • whats your opinion on ceramic elements?

  • i have two or three one is a Canadian Astatic, all of them sounding thinner then the crystals

  • Love your videos!

    J

  • holy moly, you made my day, thx, i love the way you play

  • Forgive me for being so pedantic..but..lets at least try to get things right. I reckon it's important and only fair and honest (especially when appropriating other's music) to give credit where credit is due. It used to be a fairly common practice by blues players in America to introduce and credit all covers as a sign of love and respect to the original authors..that said.. "Good Morning Lil' Schoolgirl" written by Lightning Hopkins I believe.

  • i may do it with my later vids, hope thats ok for you

  • that was wicked cool!

  • That is the most amazing bluesy sound I've ever heard! Especially with the second mic. That opening riff is just UNREAL! I can listen to it all day long. Keep em coming!

  • Hi, Harpsucker, great job! I am a Chinese harp player, and I am introducing your videos to Chinese with detailed description on your gears. And I want to know if you use a impedance transformer with EV RE-10? Or you only turned the volume up? thank you.

  • Hi, yes i used the transformer i think, Best Thomas

  • Sweet momma there you go my man!

  • this is great stuff man, the harp sounds great, the amp sounds amazing! i love that champ amp! hopefully someday i might have one of my own, now that would be a dream!

  • first song was hello little school girl by the ledgend muddy waters!

  • yeap

  • Forgive me for being pedantic.. but.."Good Morning Lil' Schoolgirl" written by Lightning Hopkins I believe?

  • no Sonnyboy Williamson I (John Lee Williamson)

  • Now that makes real sense! but "Hello little schoolgirl" ?no, a Muddy song? (well I can easily see him doing it ..its right down his alley).I can't believe my old James Cotton record has it attributed to L. Hopkins. That just didn't seem right either. You're sounding great! Thanks for all the videos!

  • i wanna play harmonica! i love what it sounds like!!

  • A thing of beauty...-Mah

  • Great tone and even better playing

  • bravo super merci de votre visite

  • Whoa! That sounds GREAT!!!

  • I have an American D4T Mic what is your view on them.

Im using an M7 Magnatone amp. Great sound you have.

  • i think i play a D4T in one of my vids, great sound when all original, i dont know the M7, sent me a vid of your playing and i post it in my series

  • i think i play a D4T in one of my vids, great sound when original, sent me a vid from your setup and i post it in my series

  • do you like to diatonic or chromatic harps better?

  • sorry thats not a real question, they are completly different instruments, like a trumpet or trombone, i play mostly diatonic

  • I think you could play through anything and it would sound amazing.your a great player.

  • thanks, its the indian not the bow, haha

  • Sweet raw tone !

  • thats not a blues junior is it?.... sounds really cool though....the toungue blocks break up real nice on whatever ur playing on

  • can you read the description or the titel of the vid, sorry my man

  • you wanna sell that Fender amp?

    d

  • in 20 years i will

  • Kool collection man...Plus you can really blow that harp...!!!

  • sounds great. I have just bought a Valve Amplifier not vintage for my Harp it has 6L6s, and 3 - 12AX7 tubes threw a 10inch 80 watt speaker. There is a hell of alot of feedback coming from it. I wondered should i change the tubes & maybe the speaker. If so could you please give me some advice & save me blowing it up - thanks

  • its probably the indian not the bow, what brand is your amp

  • Its Pignose G40V. i know people customize Amps for Harp. I have not even tested mine yet properly, Im waiting for a JT MIc coming from the States

  • Sweet !

  • nothing beats vintage...ever.

  • hello little schoolgirl .. sonny boy williamson I love your stuff man get some bass and drums happening and your in for a wild ride indeed

  • Oh man that's some sweet tone! Wow!

  • blew me away ,wowza, mooooooooooooorrrrrrrrre

  • that is one barking harp great stuff

  • sweet, tks for sharing

  • I soooo love this video. That sound is amazing!! And the riffs are soooo raw and bluesy. Beautiful. Bring on some more of this sound please. Keep it up.

  • God Damn I love the sound of some one honkin on Bobo

  • Im not an harmonic player; but you inspired me!

  • Hi Thomas-

I just ordered the components to build one of these. I love the sound of it. I'll let you know how it turns out....

    John Wentzien

  • please do so, check out the Marble Max from Holland, same amp with a big tone

  • Hey Man, You've got some great tone. Not to mention some sweet amps!!

  • If you want any service on your older amps, maybe you would want to check out Mr Valco at the valcoamp site on the web. Keep that sound coming... sounded great!

  • Thanks for the info

  • At first I liked the bullet mike better, but the distortion from that EV mike is nice. Even better is your playing. Really choice, man. Contact me if you ever come to Boston, we can jam. I have guitar, bass, keys, a silverface Champ you'd probably dig. I'll even let you play the sweetest Marine Band harp I've ever owned. BTW, nice Tweed amp - it's a 1950's Fender, yes? Keep the blues alive, man. You're cool.

  • i get on conclusion.

    The microphone doesn't matter.

  • the amp doesnt matter also, what matters is only the player, believe me, after 38 vids with different amps and mics its only the player not the gear

  • Sweet as playing gets.

  • I can almost hear the harmonica talking to me. congrat! nice amps

  • It seems to be Sonnyboy,LittleWalter!

    Great!!

  • pouczające, szczególnie dla młodych harmonijkarzy! very good.

  • ??? Thx

  • You must be one heck of a e-bayer with all that gear? try a google search for outlawbluesband and hear some original blues music!

  • most of the amps are not my amps, some amps i own for 20 year, but yes you are right ebay is full of amps, but do you know how they sound???

  • Awesome playing and your tone with both microphones was sweet! I think I prefer the second one. I also like the overdriven tone of the amp. Good stuff!

  • Man you rock my socks off

  • hey maybe u can help me..How long does it take to learn harmonica..at least like novice or better?

  • I saw this guy playing the haronica at a Joey McIntyre show last week and I thought you'd like it ;)

  • You have the same intrest as myself. I used this identical amp many years ago but just pre amp my green bullit into big PAs these days no feedback. INDIANA PHOENIX

  • I love these harp amp comparisons, and your playing is great. Do you have a video of you playing through a silverface champ?

  • i dont have one, but i know a friend who got one, maybe later this year
