@haroof That exactly sums up my feelings. It's a dump, but there's no reason it could not have been profitable if the management's idea of saving money wasn't shutting down essential attractions and never repairing anything... I wish it had been run by people who cared enough about it to keep the old girl worth something.
When I was a kid, i recall going and staying at the Sahara. Now I am a young adult, I do not even get close to the Sahara. It just feels too old for me. But as you said, it is dirt cheap. But nowadays you can get a suite at the Paris, for free, if you hold a diamond card, or anything of the major reward cards(as I do)... But I am leaving the message to let you know that the Sahara will be close in mid May.
i stayed at the sahara in vegas it was the best time of my life (drinked, smoked :) on the strip and had a fun, some-what-forgetful night lol and my friends getting lost and we couldnt find them lol walking threw the casino all messed up and trying to walk the long walk to the elavators, lol
me and my best friend are going on sept 20 and staying a whole week in the sahara so we planning on DRINKING, SLEEPING, SHITTING AND SHOWERING can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!
who the F*ck goes to vegas and thinks about his room? you only need a place to crash unless you are bringing in some prostitutes or gigolos and want to show them how nice is your room hehehehe
@brianlojeck i have not seen any guards when i stayed there except where that one that sits in front of the big hallway with the elavators thats the only guard i seen lol
I just stayed at Sahara one night in October 09. The room was terrible and was not ready when I checked-in the room. Lot of rubbish on the carpart, not yet vaccum, toilet not yet clean...more preciously only the bed was tidied. I'll definitely not stay at Sahara again. LV Hilton is nice and value for money.
cont....and the Hilton is a very nice hotel...but tends to be kinda expensive especially when traveling by myself...so while i was trying to make that decision between the Hilton and the Sahara....after watching your video i believe i have made that decision...i just wanna say after all this...is THANK YOU !!!! for your video....it has helped me more than you know!!!
i would like to thank you very much for this video...i have been killing myself on the internet to try and help make an informed decision on where to stay for my sisters B-day....her and her friend are staying at the Sahara and of course everyone has booked early...i procrastinate and book last...my partner has spoiled me very much so by booking into nice hotels with suites...one place i had stayed was at the Hilton Grand Vacation...across the street form the Sahara....
Yeah I can see that happening. The room that really throws me for a loop size-wise is that Spa Suite at the Luxor. Room seems gigantic, especially that riduclously large bathroom. Seems like a 900 sq ft room with that bathroom but I know it's much closer to 725 or so.
Nonetheless, that's a very nice room considering it's the Sahara. I've always wanted to stay but was always overruled by the woman.
To be honest that suite doesn't look over 700 sq ft to me. The Celebrity Spa Suite at the MGM is 700 and this room is definitely not bigger than that room.
What does Brian think about the closure of this place?
Myself, I'm a little sad even though the place has morphed into a dump over the past few years.

how much did u pay per night ?
ive read so many reviews on the sahara and they all seem to be really bad but after seeing this i have changed my mind.
maybe its just the box standard rooms which suck...??
one more question. if i stay somewhere like the sahara can i just go to any of the other hotels and use their facilities??
ty. peace

@boppzz I think the total for three nights was roughly $300. The room wasn't great, but it was dirt cheap for sure.
as for using other hotel's facilities... you're on your own there. i don't know of any way to do it that doesn't involve sneaking past guards.

It may have been the high ceilings that threw me off. The room felt very open and roomy, but I didn't measure it to be sure.
