Well Tom Hank's character contracted aids in 1984/1985 in the movie and says they didn't know how you contracted AIDS or that it was deadly so the argument "he contracted aids because of his own choice" while true doesn't factor in that he was unaware of what the disease really was and that it could/would be a consequence of his own actions. Hindsight is 20/20. Secondly, the case was about him being fired because he had aids. Which is discrimination at its purest and illegal. How he contracted
The first case of AIDS was diagnosed in 1981, although the disease has been around for
decades. In 84/85, very little was known about how AIDS was spread, as a result, many
people contracted AIDS through blood transfusions. IV drug users were still being allowed to donate blood, they were paid for donating blood...we were still in the dark about how this deadly disease was being transmitted. Ask a dozen high school kids how AIDS and HIV is transmitted, they probably won't know!
@Pizuzuzimmer You're a sorry excuse for a human being. It's absolutely repulsive the way you talk. You sound like an ignorant jackass and your "opinion" is so beyond ridiculous.
@Pizuzuzimmer Your an idiot, they were in court for a wrongful termination of employment based on discrimination of a disease. The only point that should be made, is that if he could not do his job at the same level he did before, they should let him go. But you don't give a shit about a real conversation do you. FUCKING CLOSETED ASS PIRATE TROLL ALERT!!
@Pizuzuzimmer lmfao Looks like I got under somebody's skin a little! ha ha ha! That's right you weakling get mad! Get angry! Anything you say going forward just makes you look like an angry child. I am literally laughing at you right now. Go ahead say something else, play right into looking more like an ass then you already have.. Prove me right.
The lawyer who first presented the mirror did so to show that the employer who fired him had no reason to fire him due to visible lesions, meaning he was not discriminated against for being gay or having AIDS. Denzel's character wanted to show that lesions caused by the disease were visible if only you looked at areas of the body which had them. During the trial his face did not have them. He WAS discriminated against. This helped his case.
i saw this movie in school but i never understood this part, why would the the lesion's help or damage his case. could some one please explain because i'm still really lost at this part.

By studying the best cinema. You might try it. You'll have to put away the half-assed politically correct horseshit first.

Amazing movie, Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington are truly brilliant in this film. Charles Napier is from my hometown, his cousin is my neighbor.
